Lovely sized room. Staff very helpful Food amazing

Bed was too soft and fan in bathroom needed a good clean.

Room was very noisy at night. Due to a very loud can under window . Unable to sleep very well.

All meals were excellent and the executive room was clean and well furnished.

As my wife has a disability she needed a shower with 'grab rails' and a toilet with a 'hand rest' to steady herself. These were absent even though the room was listed as suitable.

My accommodation was in the Westgate wing and after a relaxing bath in the hot tub, I sank into the luxurious four poster bed and slept dreamlessly until morning! The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the staff were super attentive - my tea was ready just as I sat down. I will return. Highly recommended!

I was dissapointed by the decor of the upgraded room I had paid for. We were on the groundfloor by the car park and I could hear people comng and going...Also there was little privacy unless I closed thecurtains. I wish I hadnt upgraded

Location was great for meeting friends in Steyning. Good value for money. Good real ale choice. Barmaid on Saturday night very friendly. Receptionist on Sunday morning very friendly, helpful & smiley! Bonus that could leave car on carpark after check out time, while met friends for a walk on Sunday morning - thank you!

Rooms were not only not close to each other, but in different parts of the hotel - one in main block, one in East Wing through garden - bit disappointing. Strange smell when walking through food area to garden. Receptionist on arrival was a bit 'cold'. Room key disabled well before 11am checkout time on Sunday - more like 10.15am - wasted around 15 minutes walking to & from room, & finding staff to open doors. We saw at least 3 other guests in the same situation - very frustrating

Initial greeting and evening bar staff welcoming and pleasant, knowledgeable about site and services on offer. Car parking was good and there was no obvious traffic noise. Drinks on offer sufficient for our tastes. Prices OK. Bedroom was clean, spacious, a bit cold (Rectified by switching on the electric heater), bathroom was clean, fairly modern and looked functional.

The dinner options. Why put on a carvery with such a small footfall mid-week? The chef who had to carve the meat was far from enthusiastic. We ate at 7pm as planned with reception, but the meats looked like they’d been on the servery for hours. All the joints looked dried out. The beef was selected but this was over cooked and in fact inedible with a "leather like" texture. This was raised with the waiting staff at the table, but they really didn't have an answer. (As the meal was just started, suggest that the option to replace could have been offered!) Restaurant needs modernising, wobbly chairs, sticky tables, very dark woodwork that showed up all the dust on the panelling and trim. At breakfast, staff seated us next to other guests, yet there was plenty of space elsewhere in the restaurant…..nothing learnt about social distancing post Covid 19….just a thought? Appreciate that given the age of the original building there is a need to create an “ambiance” but I’m sure most dinners like to enjoy a fresh meal in a clean, tidy, and attractive atmosphere.

it was a bit of a walk from the car to the hotel and it was raining.

Position, layout, friendly and helpful staff. dry comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast is very good.

Nothing really except I did give feedback that a new headboard wouldn’t go amiss.

Staff were very helpful couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was enjoyable and went as smoothly as possible.

Nearly everything on the bar menu was unavailable, however the staff found us something to eat which was really nice and were so apologetic. They bent over backwards to ensure it didn't spoil our evening and stay

Friendly and helpful staff. Staff resolved one minor hiccup immediately extremely pleased with their response. Meals were well organised , food was plentiful and of good quality.
