Das Frühstück war hervorragend, große reichliche Auswahl an Käse, Schinken, Eier, Mehlspeisen, Milchprodukten, Gebäck etc. Der Chef und das Personal waren sehr bemüht und die Küche war hervorragend bzw. ausgezeichnet. Wir haben das Abendessen mit ausgezeichneten Weinen genossen.

This is a great option if you want to do the Rilke walk in Duino, which is only five minutes away. The hotel has a restaurant with excellent food, especially fish dishes. The room was spacious, so was the bathroom.

The hot tub was not working -- we went up to use it and the water was lukewarm and none of the various buttons we pushed had any effect. The AC unit in the room was not ideal -- it was very noisy and drafty when on and the room quickly got stuffy when it turned off.

Nice staff. There is a jacuzzi on the roof. Since there were no people, we could relax there just the two of us, and it was wonderful. Also, the staff took into account that it was my birthday and congratulated me, it was nice

We had a fantastic stay with our dog at Locanda Gaudemus! Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean and we really enjoyed the spa. We ate a delicious dinner in the restaurant with succulent food, a superb selection of wines and incredible service thanks to the friendly owner and his son!

The behaviour of the owner & his son, which was agressive & bizarre to say the least. We arrived at 20:00 to find out they had mistakenly given our room away. Whilst the owner & his son were arguing quite vividly re who’s fault it was, we decided to remove ourselves from the situation & eat at their restaurant whilst they found a solution. A solution was found at 23:00 when the other guests returned to the hotel & were relocated. After cleaning the room, we were able to enter at 23:30. The next morning upon check out we enquired with the son about a discount on the room rate since it was not available to us until late & as an acknowledgment of the stress caused not knowing where we would stay (with the owner originally saying he had no solution for us). We were offered a bottle of wine & 3 drinks taken off our dinner bill. When the father (owner) arrived to the situation, he went crazy accusing us of not paying the bill (which wasn’t true) a& called the local police - who turned up with flashing lights & guns. Whilst we waited police attendance the owner was shouting & screaming in my boyfriend’s face, waving his hands in his face before pushing him on the shoulder. We somehow remained calm & were relieved when the police turned up. When they did turn up however it was clear that the owner was friends with the local policeman & we figured it was all an intimidation tactic. When we called an Italian lawyer, the police quickly rescinded & gave back our passports & told us we were free to leave/no crime had been committed. We decided to pay the bill even before the police had arrived as the owner was extremely aggressive & we figured there was no solution there & then and that we would take it up directly with Booking.com .
