The house in a good location and if things had been clean and in working order it would have been exactly what we expected. Sadly they were not at all and the owner refused to acknowledge (let alone attempt to fix) any of the issues and became threatening and aggressive instead.

Whilst the house itself is nice, it is not being kept in good working order at all and turned out to be the worst place we have ever stayed in (a shock at over EUR 4000/week). We travel with three children, two of which are so severely allergic/anaphylactic to multiple foods that staying in hotels or going to restaurants is not an option for us - as a result we have exclusively rented holiday homes (to allow for self catering) for the past twelve years and have never had anything other than five star ratings as guests ourselves as well as not once a bad experience with our many hosts. This experience has been a total shock to us, to say that it has ruined our holiday is an understatement and we can not with a good conscience recommend this house or its owner. When we contacted the owner and the key administrator on day one as per the booking conditions, we were met with extreme, ongoing aggression and threatened that we would have to leave that night. Not one attempt was made to fix any of the issues. Despite what was promised in the description of the house, we had no Wifi, no working oven, the dryer door was broken, the ceiling fans did not work properly and the flyscreen in the master bedroom was ripped off the wall which meant it was well over 30C at night with no airflow whatsoever. Three of the beds were not made up (we did not need them but an unusual and unwelcoming as well as unhygienic practice nonetheless) and many of the dishes and placemats were caked in a lot of old food, cheese etc. The instruction manuals were not updated after appliances were changed which for us meant obsolete wifi information and only Dutch television channels. The instruction folder for the house contains pages and pages of warnings of all the things not to touch and not to do or you would risk losing the EUR 1000 deposit. As a result we felt like walking on eggshells in the house all week and did not dare to use things like the BBQ.
