We really liked the people who worked there: friendly and hospitable. At the front desk everything was great. The breakfast was very simple but fine but the location can not be beat: a few minutes walk from the Biesbosch Information Centre where we went for walks, canoeing and lunch. It's a beautiful part of The Netherlands.

The rooms are comfy but the walls are very very thin... We heard all our neighbours constantly, other doors could not be shut without a very loud bang. Also the doors in the hallway. We tried to put some tape in between ourselves as we couldn't get to sleep, but to no avail. Also the design of the heating system is weird as the wooden top makes it impossible to put your wet clothes on to dry (or your towels). And in the end: it's a hostel and nearly 500 euro's for 3 nights with 2 adults and a child where you have to make up your own beds and there is no cleaning in between days is a lot of money. We didn't expect anything too high standard but the noise and price made this stay a bit tiring and not sure we'll come back here.

the hostel did not respond to my request to amend the check-in time and arrive a little earlier - we wasted time walking from the visitor centre to the hostel only to be turned away. You should respond to messages from customers. also, i think the menu could be expanded just a little bit - the food is very bland, unexciting and unhealthy.

Good areas to sit. Our bikes went into a locked shed at night. Lovely situation.

Thin walls, so noisy. Would have been improved by having a water boiler to make our own drinks.

Although it's a bit outside the centre of town, there's bikes that can be rented, and it's easy enough to cycle into town. Lovely green areas to enjoy there, and planty of outdoor activities in the surrounding area!

Fairly cheap solution for the area in the Netherlands. Fairly quiet in a wooded area along a river. Bike paths nearby.

Beware, this is not a hotel or even a hostel. It's more of a camping solution. We arrived at the end of the day. We discovered that we had to make our bed. Surprising. The lights didn't work very well. The staff is just absent, is is just incredible !!! We looked for the receptionist for more than 15 minutes in the morning to check-out ! ! ! Same for the breakfast that was not set up on time, then no napkin, no fruit... The breakfast is not very good, not varied, little choice, few fresh and local product. We suggest that you do not include it. Finally, the place is under renovation and the workers arrive quite early (7 am) so be careful if your plan is to stay in your bed a little bit more :-)

Considering that it is a hostel, it is a recommendable place to go. We had a 4-bedroom for the two of us, thus large enough. Drinks, pastries all day long; next to a natural resort. Ca. 15 min. by car to Dordrecht und regular train connections to Rotterdam. Good place for families and groups. During our stay thee was a school class.

Since there is no public transportation you need either a car or a taxi. Not much room to store clothing - for a short stay no problem.

Location was great next to a canal and inside a forest. But close by a lot of factories like power plants

In the rooms that the second family from our group was staying the heating was not working at night

Awesome location with loads of facilities. The room was spacious and warm with comfortable beds. The staff was just excellent... when there was some miscommunication (the info from booking.com was incorrect), they went the extra step to make things happen for us after all. And with a long journey ahead of us, we were very happy to be able to have some breakfast after normal hours.

The information via booking.com was not fully correct. This gave some issues with check-out and breakfast, as well as a misunderstanding about available towels (which we then had to rent for €2,50 each)

We had a nice time and my son enjoyed the canoeing. Breakfast was simple compared to Rotteram Stayokay. Very friendly staff.

The balcony back side could have been cleaned. It had an ackward sight to see from our window :-)

It was easy to hear neibourghs. Dinner price is too high for proposed food. unfortunately there is no secure place to left bicycles

The location and breakfast was great. The staff very helpful, responsive and informative. The idea of the Wickel House is great and can be much improved.

The outside of the Wickel House particularly the sitting area was dreadful. Stinging nettles poking through the steps into the house. The outdoor table was old, weathered and broken - not safe to sit on. The grass had not been mown around the outdoor seating area. Windows we’re filthy. It needed more hooks to hang clothes/towels in the walls and in the shower. The toilet needs a vent to keep it fresh.
