Sehr ruhig

The staff went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. The place was extra clean inside and out. The rooms and the bathrooms were of good size and very clean. 10 to 15 minutes walk to everything Paroikia has to offer was a good deal. The breakfast was very good as was the morning and evening staff. The views from the main lobby and the breakfast balcony were superb.
The beds were very hard. One may get used to them after a night's sleep, but not this time.

It was clean.
Staff not helpful and at times argumentative.
Original room had no shower curtain or screen, no shower soap and no hot water - barely lukewarm. Original mattress was lumpy. When I complained the owner was not very polite and argued that the water seemed ok to him. After complaining again on the second day we were given a different room where all of the above problems didn’t exist.
Breakfast was basic and it appeared that the same cakes came out day after day.

Great location. Right on the sea, great views, short walk to town, good preseason price, great value for money

Breakfast was OK. The WiFi was good but there are two WiFi's with the same name (one without a password) and needed network reset on an iPhone to make the passwordless WiFi visible to the phone. The cleaning lady was good.
The worst was my girlfriend telling me that the owner of the hotel was rude to her :-( The very squeaky bed is my second big problem. The shower isn't isolated at all, so the bathroom gets all wet after each shower. The hot water is never hot (at least you can't burn yourself). Electricity goes out when you take the key, so can't charge devices when you're out.

Staff and locations
Amazing hotel and staff highly recommended

Breakfast was decent. Excellent terrace for the meal. Location perfect, next to the city of Paroikia. View from the public terrace was astonishing. Renovated bathroom. Windows quite new and sound proof.
Beds and furniture are old. Door not sound proof. During reservation there was not a picture of the room we were gonna stay at. So it was a surprise when we saw our room, as the photos showed much better and renovated rooms. I do not know if it is Booking's fault or the owner's but at any given stage of the booking process we did not see the definitive photo of our room.

Breakfast was ok. Location was fine.
This hotel was EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE, could have had a better night sleep picking a rock from the outside to sleep on! HORRIBLE beds! One of the staff members (older gentleman was rude constantly). And forget trying to ask for towels, that’s not something they are friendly about.

Plenty of space to work
It’s quite far to walk with cases and uphill but not at all a problem without cases

The view
2.5
The view from reception, the sea-view rooms, and the breakfast area is one of the best on the island.
The lady in reception is very polite and helpful.
I believe it was good value for money in the end. Im not sure if a more expensive hotel is worth it for the extras.
Reception
There was an option to choose a double or twin room (this is pointless as it’s based on ‘availability’). I arrived and the man at reception put me and my wife in a twin room (it was our 1yr anniversary). When I discovered this i went back down to reception and explained I chose the double-bed room to which he replied its based on ‘availability’ and it seemed this was it for me! Two more people luckily arrived to check-in which is when he decided to start looking for another room for me and miraculously found one! I take it he tried to use up the twin rooms first on people. Later when I came down a group of 15 or so travellers were checking in! BTW The man is also always very miserable and unapproachable. I was moved to another room which was on the second floor (there is only one more floor), from which the ‘mountain view’ is a bit of a mockery, its just the road and houses with a boring brown hill-of-a-mountain in the distance.
Room:
The doors and walls are paper thin, worst i’ve ever come across. It reminded us of an d hospital building. The group of travellers were screaming and running up and down the halls into each-other’s rooms and banging until silly o clock in the morning (this was on a Monday & Tuesday)!
The shower does not have a curtain, the bathroom will flood in the morning and stay wet (unless a cleaner comes in) if u shower in the evening, its flooded for the rest of the day.
No complementary water, even on the first day!
The balcony had an intermittent drip from the balcony above. This was also the case in the breakfast area. It seem that the drilling is from overflow pipes. But this gets a bit gross.
Breakfast:
Not continental. A very simple greek style breakfast. Bread and cheese/ham. Jams, chocolate, honey. Cereal. Cordial juices. Cheeses, olives. Coffee machine was good.
Mountain room = sun all morning and afternoon
Sea view room = sun all evening

The staff at Nikolas were lovely, always available, always friendly. My room had fresh paint, new curtains, and a recently updated bathroom. The balcony was amazing, right over the sea. The breakfast area was a gem.
The hallways were a little dark. I always felt safe, but they were not as nice as the common spaces or my room. A little better lighting would be a good investment for them. The breakfast was nice, but a few pieces of fresh fruit would have been welcome.

I can’t tell you enough about this hotel! We had an amazing stay here and we are so glad we chose this place to stay! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean, and the view in our room was top notch - ocean view from our room and where breakfast is served was so mesmerizing. I wish our vacation didn’t have to end!!
Thank you for our great experience Nikolas hotel :)
Everything was great!

Excellent waterfront location above the cliffs. Lovely sea-view with beautiful sunsets to be enjoyed right from your private balcony. Room reasonably spacious and very clean. Very attentive owners and real nice staff, very helpful in every aspect. Access to sandy beach right next to the Hotel. The very pretty, authentic Town center is just a leisurely stroll away, no need to use a car. Breakfast buffet on the terrace provides a good start for the day. Would return without hesitation!
