Cosy and functional ideal base location for exploring local area.

Clean and spacious, great location

Lovely property, fantastic host

Hugely disappointed on arriving to be welcomed by musty and damp smells that lingered for days. Also disappointed at the derisory outdoor space for our dog. The only reason we choose this property was because we needed somewhere that was pet friendly for a few days. Overall, compared to numerous other holiday cottages that we have stayed at in Northumberland (Rothbury, Longframlington & Craster) over the last 30 years, albeit without a dog, this was the most expensive and the least appealing. Having said that, the bed was comfy and we enjoyed our short break.

Brilliant host who made us feel really welcome. Barn was clean and tidy and well stocked including home made marmalade!! Absolutely beautiful part of the country, we will definitely be returning.

Nice little cottage in a superb location

Myself and my dad enjoyed our stay with my young dog. Many purpose was to avoid fireworks . The cottage served its purpose, although next to a busy road, but this quieten down through the night .

Lovely cosy cottage with everything we could need. Well situated for the coast, forests and gardens. Thoughtful and friendly hosts.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, it is small and cosy containing everything I, together with my dogs needed. The bathroom is large with a great shower and drying area. There is a log burner which really makes everything feel warm and comfortable. I think a few more lights outside would be useful for nightimes when the dogs have to go out before bed. For me, the only thing I would change would be a garden area with seating where I could spend time with my dogs, read my book with a cup of tea or a glass of wine after a lovely beach walk, although there is a small fenced area set aside for dogs to use. Sue and Chris are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There was tea, coffee and milk provided which was very much appreciated on arrival plus a bag of treats for each of my dogs with their name on, a lovely touch! A great cottage in a beautiful location, completely dog friendly and hosts who really care about their guests.

The accommodation was spacious for two of us & our elderly dog. It was well heated & maintained & has all that you need for a stay away from home. Care has been taken in choosing everything from crockery & bedding to furniture. All very good quality. Lovely quiet area, host very helpful if needed. Can't fault anything!

We found the cottage to be very cosy and charming. Gorgeous views from kitchen window. Location was perfect for exploring beautiful Northumberland and the village pub, The Granny served delicious food both lunchtime and evening. We certainly will be going back.

Had an amazing stay at this self contained cottage. Location is perfect for all local beaches which we explored thoroughly. This is a great dog friendly accommodation with everything we needed. Clean, quite, relaxing. Perfect place to stay and unwind. We will certainly be back on a regular basis.

A small cottage, very well equipped but rather dark. The outside space is not next to the cottage but as it was going dark fairly early it didn't affect our stay but in summer we would prefer outside space to be accessed straight from the door.

This is a lovely little gem of a place. Every thing was just as promised and totally delightful. But the highlight was Sue and her better half. They were helpful and courteous, nothing to much trouble and all with a friendly smile.

The property is located next to a busy road. It was clean and there were nice touches like homemade marmalade, local eggs and milk. It is a short drive into Longframlington which has lovely amenities a great dog friendly pub and the amazing Running Fox Cafe which served the best breakfast and coffee and cakes we have ever had! The property was very comfortable but it was spoilt by the strong smell of damp.

Close to many towns, castles and gardens, the coast and excellent hosts including adorable dog! Property well equipped and ample room for two guests

Quiet and peacefull

So impressed we had the best time.Everything you need is in the cottage and the location is excellent.

Property 10mins walk to Longframlington village, 2 Bistro Inns, local bakery, quality butchers, PO, etc. 9 miles from the coast, beautiful views from property. Owner next door, provided welcome pack of basics, milk, tea, coffee, etc with eggs from her free chickens. Very clean and cosy. Would certainly book again. Thank you Sue.

Communication with the owner of the property Sue was excellent throughout, we knew we would get on when Sue referred to us as Zac's staff (our boarder terrier ). The location of the property was a great base for exploring Northumberland, we have been to the area before but stayed nearer to Berwick so we discovered new places on this visit. The property has everything you need and we had no issues. There is also an enclosed area which Zac was unable to escape from while playing. Would definitely recommend *****

Besom Barn is a "studio cottage", all in one room, apart from the bathroom. Ideal for the two of us and our dog, who was extremely welcome! High standard of furnishings, spotlessly clean and well equipped kitchen. The log burning stove was a joy on chilly evenings. Sue was welcoming, friendly, and happy to provide information about the barn, it's history, which is fascinating, and the surrounding area. The A697 is a busy, fast road without a footpath, so not great to walk along, but information about off-road walks into Longframlington and around the spectacular local area is provided in the cottage. A very relaxing & enjoyable short break, thank you Sue.

Well cleaned and equipped. Comfortable and cozy with the woodburning stove heated. Very friendly hosts.
