The house suited our annual friend vacation needs perfectly. Great location to everything mid to outer Cape. We enjoyed easy access to the bike trails. Jay is very communicative. Very peaceful yard, where we saw bunnies and deer while the birds were chirping.

We wanted for nothing and hated to leave. Selfishly we’re reluctant to report how much we loved the house and its location for fear of competition to book it.

Conveniently located in a quiet suburb of Orleans, the house is very clean and comfortable, fit for a stay any time of the year with A/C and heating. It is a pleasure to share it with a neighborhood rabbit and the birds in the pleasant backyard. Once here you don’t want to leave.

The property had everything that was needed to accommodate us for a wonderful vacation

Jay and Helga made sure that all questions were answered and all needs were met. Their home is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, brief drives to the best of mid- to upper Cape jaunts. Tons of great restaurants, store, hikes, beaches - not to mention nearby rail trail - made this one of our favorite vacations. Even when the weather was dreadful, staying in to read, cook, lounge about their comfy place made for some of the best reflections about our stay. The master bedroom was the perfect place to secret away when needing a brief hiatus from (beloved) company. Three weeks went by in the blink of an eye. Never stayed in Eastham before, but wouldn't hesitate to come back to make more wonderful memories.

We thoroughly enjoyed the long Columbus Day weekend in the house. This town is a great launching point to go to Chatham, Wellfleet, and Orleans. The house that everything we needed. Great kitchen to cook up everything we picked up at the Orleans farmers market and seafood market. Fires in the fireplace kept us cozy at night. We loved the master bedroom upstairs with its own bathroom. We spent much time sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the backyard. And as always we love the outdoor shower! The owners gave us great tips on beaches and we visited them all. Overall a wonderful trip!

When we visit the Cape, we come to ride our bikes and eat good seafood. Although we always look for a nice, affordable place, where we stay is less important to us than what we do. That said, this place added immeasurably to the enjoyment of our visit. Jay’s home in Eastham is perfectly located, close to the rail trail and excellent restaurants. The yard is large and pleasant to look at and relax in, either on the deck or two Adirondack chairs out on the lawn. The inside is spacious and clean, with tasteful furnishings and a well-supplied kitchen. We felt comfortable from the moment we first walked in the door. That Jay is proud of and cares deeply about the place is clear from the way he takes care of it, and from the pains he takes, including a mandatory phone conversation before occupancy, to make sure he gets renters who will appreciate and respect it. Very convenient , private and most relaxing. Very clean and Jay and Helga were most accommodating with keeping us abreast with everything re: the pandemic and the phases of opening. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and would definitely choose this house again

Throughout the entire booking/pre-visit time, Jay and Helga were extremely informative and attentive. All questions were answered in a timely manner and a great deal of pertinent information was shared without even having to ask. The house itself (and it's location) is exactly what we have been looking for. Close to everything we want to do (oceanside and bayside beaches, shopping, restaurants and seafood stores, yoga in Chatham, golf in Harwich, etc.) and the house is equipped with so many useful things that other homes have not had (e.g. lots of hooks and towel bars in the bathrooms, wastebaskets in each bedroom, plenty of plates/glasses/silverware, etc.). This truly felt like a home away from home and we are hoping it is available when we visit again next summer. We highly recommend!

good location,but not very close to the beach

Lovely house with a spacious and beautiful yard, close to Rte 6 but set back from it so you can't hear traffic. The house is a few minutes away from the CCRT, which is accessible by bike down a quiet back road. Herring Pond is just off the bike trail via Crosby Village Rd. Eastham is very special and we loved it here.

Charming, well-appointed, immaculately clean house close to Bay beaches and National Seashore. Jay was extremely attentive and made the check-in and check-out process very easy.

Had a wonderful two weeks....will be back next year and truly cannot wait!

Couldn't have asked for anything better- gracious and incredibly organized host, top-tier location with access to Orleans, Nauset, Wellfleet, Chatham, etc. Beautiful home. Would easily stay here again!

Our family booked this gem last minute as we were coordinating our schedules! Jay and Helga were patient and helpful through the booking process! We arrived to find a warm welcome letter along with wine and chocolates! The space is perfect for 6 (although we had 5) with a thoughtful layout. We gathered in the main room to enjoy Many meals and conversation and took advantage of the high ceilings, ceiling fan, and breezes through the front and back doors....but appreciated the air conditioning in our private rooms at night. We were lucky enough to borrow a friend's jeep to go 4 wheeling at Nauset Beach in Orleans which was close to get to from the house as was most everywhere we visited! Our farmer's market, the Superette, the National Seashore beaches and shopping were all close by which made everything effortless. We were able to recycle and do our laundry as well as enjoy the outside shower...a treat! Jay followed up continuously through the stay via email...eager to make sure all was well and was extremely helpful with recommendations and with the return of our security deposit. This is rare and much appreciated. We hope to rent again here next season! Exceptional!!!! Much thanks Helga and Jay Jennifer, Bill and family

This was our 4th year staying at Jay & Helga’s house in Eastham. It feels like returning to our own summer place without all of the responsibility! The house is always clean and ready for us to move in. The pictures on the site are exactly what you will find. It is close to everything but far enough away. It fit 5 of us perfectly with plenty of space. The grocery store (Stop & Shop) is less than 2 miles away, which is extremely convenient. All of the beds are comfortable and are in air-conditioned bedrooms. We normally prepare our meals at the house and having access to a gas grill makes for easy dinners and with minimal clean up. We spent most of the week at the beach. The Cape beaches are always great. We normally go to Nauset Beach in Orleans and up to Race Point. Nauset Beach looked very different this year without Liam’s Restaurant which was damaged after the winter storms. The restrooms and showers were still there and now food trucks have replaced Liam’s. The rest of the week, we went to Race Point where we drove out on the dunes and spent the day by the water. We saw seals swimming by every day. Many evenings we took a drive to First Encounter Beach to watch the sunset. It is an experience to witness the beauty of the sunset there. There are always groups of people there to celebrate the end of the day. Go there and you will not be disappointed. We have gone over the years and when the sun sets – the people start to applaud. It happens every year without fail. The weather was fabulous for the majority of the time we were there. We had a quick moving thunderstorm one morning where approximately 5 inches of rain fell in one hour. The road filled up fast but receded in a few hours. A large branch fell in the street from the front yard. I contacted Jay to let him know. He has arrangements with every kind of service needed for those unexpected situations, so a phone call was made and it was going to be taken care of. We went out to dinner twice this vacation. We normally go to Arnold’s where we get fried lobster. If going there – be sure to bring cash or a check. We also went to Land Ho! in Orleans. We all had different things on the menu and everyone was very pleased with their choice. We will definitely go back next year. We have already booked for next year with Jay & Helga - thank you for another great year.

This was our fifth year staying at Jay and Helga's lovely home for our annual "kick off the summer" family vacation. The fact that we return year after year should tell you all you need to know. The house is perfect for our family of three and has plenty of room for overnight guests. It's situated on a beautiful private lot and really gives the feeling of being away from it all. The bike path is close by, allowing easy access to the National Seashore (Coast Guard Beach is a favorite). Our annual excursions include the Welfleet Drive In, a Cape Cod baseball game in Orleans, a stop at the Land Ho for Portuguese Kale Soup, a visit to the Kemp Pottery shop, and a bike ride to Arnold's for fried clams and ice cream, just to name a few. Even rainy days are lovely thanks to the comforts of Brenda Lane. Jay and Helga are excellent hosts - no detail is left unattended. From the personalized welcome note and bottle of wine to the well-appointed kitchen and impeccably clean house, it's perfect every time. We've come to consider Brenda Lane our home away from home, and Jay and Helga dear friends who help us make family memories year after year. If you're looking for a dreamy vacation on the outer cape, I can't recommend this house enough.

The home is well equipped and the owner is very responsive to needs and requests. Quiet neighborhood, near beaches, shopping, etc.

We enjoyed our week at Jay and Helga's house. The location is close to Coast Guard Beach (our favorite), the bike path and the restaurants and shops in Orleans. There is beach gear for use in case you forget something. And we loved that they are serious about recycling! The neighborhood is very quiet, the house comes fully equipped and was perfect for the two of us. We would recommend staying here.

The house was perfect for our family of 6 . The kitchen is well stocked. Location to what we feel is the best beach, First Encounter and to Orleans rotary was excellent . Jay was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. The indoor bathrooms have all been remodeled very nicely and the outdoor shower which we used everyday was the largest and cleanest we have experienced. The living room furniture was very comfortable for us. Pride of ownership is greatly evidenced. We will definitely stay here again. Jim and Deb from Connecticut.
