This place is a small paradise. We had plans to stay here a couple of days and then keep traveling around Sri Lanka. But we loved it here so much that we decided to change our airplane tickets and stay here a week longer. I was reading all the reviews before choosing a place to stay. And everyone kept saying 'paradise' about Villa Modara. It is a true Paradise. The garden is so lush and beautiful. Tropical birds come every morning, afternoon, and evening. You can see and hear the ocean from the villa. It'll take you a 3-5 minute walk through the palm garden to go to the beach. The beach is so beautiful and different every time you come. Not very swimmable because of the waves, but you can go to the lagoon (a 5-minute walk on the beach) and swim there as all the locals do. The sunsets are phenomenal. I recommend going to the beach and a spend an hour enjoying this change of colors and moods. The hosts are so welcoming. Sergey and Denis are looking for every opportunity to help you. Sergey speaks six languages and local Singhal is one of them, so if you need to find something / solve any problem, he is always ready to help. For example, we got fresh coconut delivery, arranged tuk-tuk rides, got bikes for riding around, etc. The cleanliness of the villa is 10+. The design is natural, minimalistic, and made with love. Overall, this is a small paradise that you will not want to leave and will dream of coming back.

We loved these things, but you should note. This is a secluded place, the closest shop is about 20 minutes walk or a short tuk-tuk ride (that Denis and Sergey will help you organize). There are no tourists here. There are not so many restaurants (and because of a covid situation most of them are closed), but hosts will cook for you or will help to arrange dinner in the local village, or you can cook by yourself (there is a kitchen for guests) what we preferred to do. Although you can see the ocean, it will take you a 3-5 minute walk, but it is such a beautiful walk :)

I loved everything. Just a 3 minute walk from one of Sri Lankas most beautiful beaches. The hosts of the villa are wonderful and so is the food that they prepare. Would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. I will be coming back for sure.

Nothing everything was perfect.

I could write a few pages about Villa Modara. The hosts and employee are simply lovely, generous, friendly, interesting and welcoming. The location was perfect; close to a bird sanctuary that I didn’t visited as there was plenty of birds and wildlife around the property (sunrise and sunset was overwhelming with bird singing and seeing). Also close to a secluded beach with very few tourists if none. The guesthouse it self is so beautiful; architecture and decor. Paradisio!

We found real paradise place here. All was fine. Hosters over all amazing people and much welcoming they arranged A to Z for us. Garden was fantastic. So much beautiful ! Food was great like Rice and Curry and Kotthu amazing. Breakfast with greens, great! View from room was garden and sea shore also. Beach was very lonely and look like stunning magazine posters. The place we wish to come again. We love it all here. Thank you Mr. Sergie, Mr. Dennie and Noyel. Love from Bangalore.

Sergi and Noel are very beautiful and special person, they are in my heart . The room is very clean, the place is very quiet and the garden is fabulous! A very beautiful beach is in front of the villa only two minutes to walk
