The property was unreal. It was so clean when we arrived and the location is stunning. The hot tub was a great touch and over looking the farm topped it! It was central to everything within a 10/15 minute drive including some lovely walks, restaurants and shops and the area was very peaceful.

There was nothing not to like!

It clearly states wifi not available - so knew not to expect it - but it would be a great addition. The gravel drive has some large potholes which could be difficult if you drive a sporty car.

The cottage was well equipped and we all loved the hot tub!

The double bed was a little too soft.

The Shire cottage was a perfect holiday cottage for me, my three friends and my daughter. The hot tub was a lovely treat and there are plenty of lovely New Forest walks very nearby. The beds were super comfortable and the cottage was well stocked up with towels, crockery, etc. The communication beforehand was super clear and everything went according to plan. Would really recommend staying here and hope to return one day soon.

Only a small thing, but we struggled to find cooking oil in the local shop. It would have been helpful if a little bit could have been available for us to use on arrival as a basic/staple addition.

Facilities are superb! Owners are very generous and welcoming! Cottage was exceptionally clean - quiet - very well maintained. Hot tub is really clean and well maintained.

If I had to be really picky. The gravel drive to the entrance needs re-levelling - it floods easily and the pits are just a bit much for a STD cars suspension.

The animals in the surrounding fields were cute and lovely to see. Martin, our hos have us some great tips for the ebac( and local pubs in the forest.

Given how hot it was when we stayed, it would have been nice to have had an icebox section in the fridge to have ice.

The cottage was cute and the donkeys were lovely. The rainfall shower and under floor heating were fab. Decor lovely also.

Things like olive oil to cook with weren’t provided which in other reviews it said they would be. All crockery and glasses were dirty and we had to wash before we used them. The single beds were very uncomfortable. There is only a mirror in the bathroom and one in the main bedroom. Not good when you have 4 girls all wanting to dry their hair, no plug socket next to mirror either so we moved it and dried hair in the dining area. Hot tub was lovely, we enjoyed it, just a shame it overlooks the car park and not the lovely field view.

Everything was perfect from check in to location. It was just what we needed - a perfect place to be able to relax.

Style of decor, views, hot tub.

Very kind owners and discreet. Beautiful and tasteful decor. Lovely setting amongst animals and farmbuildings. Very clean, comfortable and warm and homely. Hot tub was great after a long day walking!

Absolutely nothing!

Beautiful clean, tidy, comfortable and modern stay. The animals are lovely. Hot tub was fantastic and the location was perfect. Plenty of parking and a lovely pub just a mile away. So impressed we have booked another stay!

WiFi would have made it perfect but no faults at all.

A mirror in both bedrooms

Location is excellent for getting to pretty much everywhere in the New Forest. The property was very clean, smartly decorated and comfortable, and the hot tub was an added bit of luxury! The hosts were very friendly and available if ever needed. The grounds of the property were beautiful and spacious.

There is no Wi-Fi in the cottages which did mean we used up a lot of our data on our mobiles when researching places to visit, but wasn't a big inconvenience. Other than that there wasn't anything to dislike!

The cottage is superbly appointed. Lovely kitchen with everything you need. Gorgeous bathroom with hot towel rails. Patio front and back. Bonus of a hot tub! Great location for walking, forest, beach etc. Super accommodating hosts. Friendly donkeys.

Bring ice cubes if required as no freezer tray in fridge.
