This hotel is amazing! Maybe the best one I have been in my life and I have written hundreds of these reviews already. It is a very interesting hotel made of many houses and courtyards that feel like a peaceful jungle inside an old and picturesque district of Cali. The hotel staff is amazing and the restaurant is of high class that can satisfy even the most exquisite tastes. The check-in process was extremely smooth and pleasant with welcome drink being delivered to us from the bar, while our data was being filled in. We got a free room upgrade from regular sweet to amazing sweet.

It is very difficult to make any remark to this hotel. It is close to what I would call perfection! Our minor remarks are related to external services of the hotel - gym is located at an external location and was not accessible on Sunday. Same about laundry service - we wanted to have some items washed on Saturday, but they said they won't be ready before Monday, which was when we did not need them anymore.

The sound between rooms really travels. Unluckly had very loud and desconsiderate neighbors one floor underneath and our 2 nights were ruined by them.

Let me start by saying that this was our 5th time in Cali, Colombia, so we stayed in a couple of different hotels to compare. This time we decided to go with a different location in Cali and a different hotel. We booked a double room at Alko hotel. I can say it was the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed at. As soon as I walked in I wanted to leave, but my booking through booking.com was not refundable, so we had to stay. The queen size bed was so short that my and my son’s feet were hanging outside all night long we are both 5 feet 9. There is no privacy in the room. The door in the bathroom is transparent though big gaps in the door, you can basically see a person seating on the toilet. Good I traveled with my son, be it my husband I would be very uncomfortable. There is also no elevator. The hotel itself is beautiful. The jungle like decor downstairs in the restaurant area. Be prepared that there is always will be random people from outside visiting the restaurant. They don’t stay in the hotel, but come for the restaurant, most of the time it is a birthday celebrations. There wasn’t a day someone didn’t celebrate their birthday. The pool is right there by the restaurant and it’s not big at all. Due to that random people are always there we didn’t have a chance to swim in it, my son felt uncomfortable. And I haven’t seen 1 person swimming in the pool as well. The food in the restaurant was good. The room was only cleaned twice during our 5 days stay. Also, the price they charged me at the hotel was $70 usd more than the booking.com showed on the website and the price I booked for. Also, I was charged additional $18.75 an international transaction fee. Also forgot to add every day starting at around 6am-7:30am there was a lot of noise in the hall outside people (workers) laughing loud and some kind of reconstruction noise was going on. Our room was on the 2nd floor. Staff was friendly like everywhere else in Colombia. Definitely, will not return.

Was certainly one of the largest Jr Suite rooms I've ever stayed in, and the bath/spa was also enormous, it had a stairway to 2nd floor balcony over the pool. We were greeted with drinks at the front desk as we checked in, and from that point on everyone on staff was absolutely wonderful. We had dealings with the Front Desk, Maintenance, Maids, Bartenders, Baristas, Waitstaff, and without exception they were all friendly, and very capable, The building was clean top to bottom there was never a time when staff wasn't cleaning SOMEthing. Breakfast was excellent, nice presentation, fresh (though the menu didn't change much in three days), and we were well cared for. Wife insists we will return.

About the only thing I didn't like was the use of Caracols (spiral staircase) on the way to, and inside our suite. But staff was excellent and took up all our bags and stroller to the 2nd floor. Even as we were checking out the cleaning women stopped what they were doing and helped bring our numerous things to the first floor. I've never seen that before anywhere. Note: There did seem to be another section of the hotel that had an elevator.

The entire experience was 5 Star. There was one glitch that was corrected immediately and in a manor that went way above and beyond what I could have expected.

The bed was comfortable. The TV had Netflix.

The receptionist that received me was extremely unfriendly. Laundry service is highlighted on the booking.com but the receptionist told me that was incorrect. I asked if she could find out about local laundrettes and she said yes but never followed up. The food in the restaurant was rubbish. The first night the ceiling leaked onto the bed - I spent the night in a wet bed. They moved me to a new room in the morning as soon as I raised this but there was no offer of compensation, etc. There was no hot water in the new room - I raised this with reception, but was told that I was opening the tap wrong (I highlighted that I was applying the same method as in the previous room, which had a lovely shower temperature). I returned to my room later to attempt his method (the same as I’d tried previously…) and there was still only cold water. The page on booking.com says it is quiet. It is not. The photos of the rooms are misleading - they are not light. The windows don’t look out into the road, the hotel, a garden, etc. They look out into white walls.

Top notch structure, beautiful garden, breakfast, room confort, location and staff hospitality. Great options to eat around, very close to the city interesting places.

At night there are some birds singing which is beautiful but if you have a light sleep might bother a little bit of your rest. The music in the bar (really closed to the rooms) start very early and a bit loud to a point that can wake you up if you have a light sleep so it could start a little bit later and/or low to allow everyone to rest perfectly.
