This property is amazing! I cannot recommend this property enough. It is in the heart of Surf City, within walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The pool was clean, quiet and a nice change. The beach is clean as well. The property itself is very well taken care of. And the beds are probably the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The owners were very easy to work with and even though we didn’t need to bug them, they were more than okay with us texting or calling for anything. This is a top notch location and property!

Our stay was great! The owner was accessible to deal with a check in issue. Kids and adults loved bring steps from the ocean. Would stay again!

The property is exactly as listed and was perfect for hosting family for Christmas dinner and another family gathering after Christmas. The owner has updated the living room furniture, so it is even BETTER than pictured. Ted is super easy to work with and check-in is a breeze. We were fortunate with the weather and enjoyed watching dolphins and surfers during our stay. The location could not get any better. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Our second year at this great property. Everything is as promised, and the pay-it-forward policy is very handy for arriving and nice to not have to trash good food and supplies when leaving. Convenient to most stores and eateries by walking, and the hosts are tops!

First time in Surf City and absolutely loved it and this place! Ted is one of the most responsive hosts I ever worked with. The house was just as described and the tall ceilings made it feel even bigger. We were able to walk everywhere and staying oceanfront was wonderful.

Excellent location Kitchen well stocked Very clean Very cozy fun to be in house ,owner very responsive. Was surprised by the beach alcohol restriction area in front of the house. Constant beach patrols and citations issued to several persons sitting on the beach was disruptive.

The first floor room, was a closet size with a bed, the room’s were quite small, the size of this property is for 8 people at best

We usually opt for a more remote place to stay on the island but we thought we’d change it up this year and stay right in the heart of Surf City. It was so much fun! And everything we needed was in walking distance. The home was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Ted (the owner) was great! It was everything we hoped it would be.

This property was wonderful. Spacious. Accommodated all 10 of us - 4 kiddos (ages 6-15) and 6 adults. There was enough seating and living space and bathrooms for us all to spread out and be comfortable. The suggestions in the book for food and activities were spot on. We rented e-bikes from 50 South; visited rescued turtles at Karen Beasley; hunted for ghost crabs; and went kayaking on the intercoastal waterways. So much to do and most was within walking distance of our rental. We rented beach chairs from Sweet Dreams, which has everything - making plane travel so much easier. This place is set up for you to walk in and just jump right into vacation mode. Any questions we had, the owners responded right away. Would definitely stay here again!

You can walk to most everything and you’re steps away from a pool and the beach. Doesn’t get much better!

We stayed for a week with our extended family. Plenty of room for everyone. They have a high chair and pack n play at the house. The owner was so kind and had a pack n play delivered the day after we got there because the one in the house was more a beach version (no bottom). Kitchen is fully equipped. Fabulous location!! You can walk everywhere. Plenty of room for 3 big suv/vans to park. I’d suggest people to bring beach towels, there were none there. The only big issue we had was the elevator doesn’t always work. My handicapped and elderly father did get locked in it and it kept moving up and down about 6 inches, enough to make you motion sick. I was able to call the owner who gave good instructions for how to get my father out. But beware these instructions are not in the elevator and you must be tall enough to reach the top of the door to get yourself out. Not sure how you would get out if you couldn’t reach or didn’t have a cell phone to call for help. The owner did state after the fact that a part was on order for it to correct this issue. Elevator issue aside, it’s a great house.

We had the best time at this beach house! Communication with Ted was so helpful. He was able to give us easy access to the home, but also provided us with information about food options and a great place to take the grands for rainy weather! Thank you for suggesting the Please Touch Aquarium across the street! Our grands (ages 3-8) loved it and didn’t want to leave!! Also, the house was so clean and just as it was advertised. The walk to the beach is much closer than previous beach houses we’ve rented. We loved the outdoor shower (with hot water) for bathing off the kiddos to keep from tracking sand in the house! This was our first trip to Surf City! We chose it because of our son being stationed at Fort Bragg. We fell in love with this quaint beach town!! We hope to visit again!! Wish I could give this one 10 stars!!! Outstanding!!

What a fantastic week at this property. We loved the views of the ocean, the very short walk to great eating places, and the best appointed kitchen we've ever stayed in. Actually had numerous knives/utensils for kitchen prep. Everyone enjoyed having their own room and bathroom. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our time at the home. The home was clean, kitchen well stocked with spices, cookware, dishes, etc. Mr. Waltz was very accommodating if something needed repaired or if we had any questions. Would stay at this home again.

The house is beautiful and the location is amazing! We never had to get in the car. Everything in town is within walking distance, including the fishing pier! The house has plenty of room for a large group and is very clean and comfortable. Ted, the owner, is amazing to work with. He called the week before and gave the run-down on the house. He immediately replied when I texted with questions. We also thought we had left behind items, he immediately contacted the cleaning company to see if the items had been found. One more thing, check-in time is 1pm!! Our family had the best time and cannot wait to go back!

Our multigenerational family had a wonderful summer vacation! There was plenty of room for everyone to be together and also have our own space. Access to the beach, pool and having plenty to do within walking distance was definitely a plus and hit for all. The bedding was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend staying here and would consider returning here next year!

The house is beautiful - better than the pictures- and very clean and comfortable. Extremely convenient location within walking distance to more stores and restaurants than I could count! The owner was wonderful. We had a couple of questions and he responded immediately and corrected a small issue with even more urgency than was expected. The 6 adults and 7 children had a blast!!
