This house is just wonderful for our family and the location is great for us! This year we actually had a boat to enjoy the boat dock and canals. The house provided kayaks as well and we had fun with those. It’s a short walk to the beach so you can have canal front fun and ocean front near by. This is the second year we have rented this house. Dawson the owner is very quick to take care of any issues. The kitchen is well stocked and the area underneath the house has a grill. It also has a wonderful breeze and is great for hanging in the evening! We will likely rent here again!!

This was our 3rd year staying at this property and we have always had a great time and this time was not any different except we came Fourth of July week and will never do this again. The water pressure is nonexistent so we went days without proper showers or toilet flushing. I was a bit confused on why my neighbors had water but we didn’t . I think the owner did as much as her could but we were hoping for some kind of compensation for not having showered for 2 solid days. He did offer 200 off next year rental but that was very slight considering we we extremely understanding and have stayed years in a row. We will definitely come back to surf city but will most likely not be there that week.

House was great size for our family of 10. Well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the kayaks and corn hole game. Thank you for the wagon, it helped with getting all our things to the beach and back. Very easy to communicate with owner. Would definitely rent again. Thank you!

The property was great and accommodated our 3 generations of family nicely! This is the fourth year we have stayed here We love the location and enjoyed everything from kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing, beaching to coffee runs!

We had a wonderful stay! Our group of 13 people, ranging in age from 1 to 61, had all the bedrooms, bathrooms and space we needed to have a terrific beach vacation. We loved the outdoor space at the house and played many games of corn hole. We used the kayaks several times. We cooked most of our meals in the house and had everything we needed to make them. The walk to the beach was between 5-10 minutes and was very easy. We spent each day on the beach and enjoyed the amount of space available for our group to spread out. We would definitely stay again!

Our extended families gathered at this home for a fun vacation. The house was spacious and well laid out. We enjoyed being able to use the boat ramp and the dock was in great condition. The kayaks provided with the house provided lots of fun for the kids. Communication with the property owner was extremely easy. Thank you.

We all loved this house. It fit our 15 person family so well. We didn't feel cramped and everything was up to date and beautiful. All the pans and pots and dishes were there to feed a crowd. The owner and his wife were really nice and checked in on us via text to make sure all was well. The property is so nice and you get good breezes under the house so we ate on the outside picnic tables most of the time. Loved this house!!

The owners of this beautiful home were wonderful to work with! Lots of amenities included. We especially enjoyed the dock and kayaking on the canal. Beautiful scenery! We didn’t want to leave! We would definitely rent this home again!

This is a very nice home. All the reviews were great. Then on my way down I get a phone call that he has cameras up. Watching his boat ramp. Well they watch every move you make outside and then we were concerned is there any inside?? He calls/or text several times a day. We mistakenly plugged into the neighbors outlet (right at his boat lift) and she contacted him so of course he contacted me. I went over apologized and gave her my name and number. She was nice and said no worries to enjoy the rest of my vacation. I soon found out the problem isn't with the renters. The owner is at war with both neighbors. When you pay what we paid for the week you don't want to be videoed or harassed on vacation!! I think he should have to put in his description that he has videos up because I can promise you I would have never purchased this home to rent. If you can't trust people to stay in your home without watching their every move you don't need to rent it out. Very miserable week.

Nice place and owner is very friendly. Only complaint is I feel the house cleaners are trying to take advantage of the owner by charging extra due to the "mess" that we left. Which most of the items they mentioned were these that is a part of normal cleaning.

Beautiful home with amazing views, we loved being able to hop in the boat and go for a ride and the home’s personal boat ramp made that a breeze! Spacious rooms and a lovely living area. We would definitely stay here again!

Mr. Cartwright was an amazing host. He did a great job of communicating through the whole process and during our stay. Everyone loved hanging out out under the house and on the dock. This was the best beach house I’ve stayed at in my 20 years of renting houses. The house was clean and had an awesome layout that accommodated the 11 guest we had with us. We look forward to booking this house again! Thank you!

This was a great space for our beach week! Only about a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the kids loved swimming and fishing off the pier (we even attempted kayaking with the boats provided)! The owner was excellent with communication. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a wide range of ages in our group - and we had so much space, everyone was comfortable. We loved the large kitchen table not only for dining together, but we love to play games and it was the perfect setup. We had awesome outside areas, the deck off the kitchen, the area on bottom level for tables and chairs and then there is the wonderful dock - where we also played games. The deck and dock and all outside areas as well as the entire home are all in excellent shape. We had a boat with us and extra kayaks. The water entry is great and easy to use. The kitchen is well appointed and my absolute favorite thing was we had a empty cabinets to store our food. We take all of our meals with us. We drove to the beach once and then realized it is really an easy stroll so from then on, we walked every time. One of the great things was the beach is maybe a mile (not real certain) north of the pier and we didn't have any crowds. We had so much fun just hanging at the house and going to the beach, but when you add our boating excursions in the sound and our cookout on the beach, it could not get any better. We had so much to do that the TV was only on once - to see Baylor win! Surf City and area AND this home is a definite for a revisit for us. Our problem is I leave a good review, then we have problems rebooking!!

This is the perfect beach/vacation house. Very clean. Super comfortable living room. Spacious kitchen. More than enough rooms for our families. The cargo lift came in handy when moving our heavy cooler up and down. The dock was long enough for our 28-foot boat and we did some crabbing off the dock as well. Kayaks were great. So relaxing just cruising down the canal. Beach is just a short walk down the street. Dawson was very responsive to our every need. We love this house and are thinking about renting again next summer!
