The chateau is really amazing, it looks like an illustration from a fairytale book that comes alive, I would highly recommend visiting the place even if you are not planning to stay there. The gite is very clean, comfortable and has absolutely everything you might need. And the owners are wonderful people, very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We felt more like guests than customers there and I'd like to thank the owners once again for our wonderful stay.

Chateau de Saint Dau was very roomy. We had an entire house to ourselves. The house has a kitchen, laundry room, living room, bedrooms, bathroom and shower/vanity room. There were plenty of closets and drawers. We could also use the outside area where there were outdoor furniture and a picnic table. Parking was free. The house was supplied with magazines about the surrounding area. The bedding and curtains etc. were clean and comfortable. The host was very nice and informative. She helped us decide what to visit in the area. The house is located not too far from the lovely medieval town of Figeac.

There are several things around the house that need to be repaired. When we arrived, the trash in the kitchen had not been removed, and there was a slow leak under the kitchen sink. We did not know how to operate the stove in the kitchen, so we could not make use of it. There was no instruction book for it or for the washer/dryer. We managed to wash and dry our clothes, but it took several passes through the dryer to dry them. There were an iron and ironing board, but they were in a storage shed, and we did not find them at first. We were supposed to have WIFI, but we did not receive the code until the last day right before we left. The price of $60 a day which we were first quoted changed to $90 a day, which is still very reasonable, but it's not good to have a change. The host wanted to be paid in cash (like many people in France (LOL)), which was not a problem for us, but it might be for some people.
