We stayed at Can Cruanyes during a whole week and we had a lovely time ! The house is isolated from alsmost everything, easy to find though. A small city is at ~3min by car and you can find a small (very small) market. You have some bigger cities at ~15-20min by car. The appartment is lovely with everything needed to spend a good vacation time : big fridge, hotplates, dishes, clean towels... The pool is clean (except for some flies but eh... in summer there are flies everywhere...) and perfect for cooling, with deck chairs and beach umbrellas around. The SPA is also very pleasant at night with a full view on the mountains. Donny and his wife were very accomodating and careful. We strongly recommand this place to spend peaceful holidays !

We had a lovely week here in June 2017. Flat was lovely and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beautiful location. Great to have pool and hot tub on site. Warm and relaxed hosts made us feel very welcome. Thank you.

We stayed at Can Cruanyes for 11 night, an excellent base for exploring the medieval towns & villages; Olot, Besalu, Santa Pau. The isolated mountain village of Beget was well worth the drive. We had no difficulty in finding restaurants open at lunchtime. Apartment Cherry was very comfortable and well equipped. The wood burner was perfect for the cooler evenings after long days walking and exploring. Thank you Donny & Siobham for being such good hosts, we plan to return.

ha estado todo muy bien, apartamento limpio y muy acogedor. No hemos pasado nada de frio que nos preocupaba un poco al ser diciembre y con una niña de 2 años. La casa esta a 20 minutos de muchas excursiones y actividades que se pueden hacer por la zona de la garrotxa.

Toute la famille a profité jusqu'au dernier moment de la beauté du lieu et de la gentillesse de ses hôtes, Donny et Shivon. Nous avions loué l'appartement Roure, le plus grand, pour 4 nuits. La maison est très bien équipée et les lits sont très confortables...nous y avons dormis comme des rois! De magnifiques balades d'une heure, découverte de piscines naturelles, petits torrents de montagne...les GR sont très faciles et tout est très bien indiqué. La région est magnique en fin de saison...Ilha, la chienne du voisin (spannish water dog, j'adore!) nous a accompagné dans chacune de nos expéditions, au grand plaisir des enfants! Je recommande 100%

My wife and I stayed in Can Cruanyes to relax after a week cycling in the Pyrenees, and it was exactly what we needed. The apartment is lovely and cosy, and well equipped for self-catering. The pool is clean and perfect for cooling off after relaxing in the large gardens. We spent the week enjoying being away from civilisation, but if you want to visit Olot or Girona the main road to either is only 10 minutes drive away. Overall an excellent place to stay that I would highly recommend.

We had a lovely reception by Donny and the appartment is beautiful. The garden and the house are great for children to run wild, it's quiet and safe and we did not worry about our little one to disturb the other guests because the whole atmosphere was just friendly - especially for families. We would definitely come again veeery soon if it wasn't such a long ride from Germany by car - next time we will take the plane and hire a car :)

The house is located a couple of kilomiters outside the neares town (which is a small village) so you need a car. And ther is no air-condition. But thats all you have to worry about. The appartment is clean, the pool perfect on a hot day, ther is nothing that will disturb you on our holliday. The manager is friendly and helpfull. If you want a lazy, quiet holliday, or like to hike in the mountains, this is the place to be!

My family (myself, husband and daughters 9 and 11) spent a lovely Easter weekend at Can Cruanyes. When we arrived on a dark and rainy evening, the owner (Donny) was there to greet us with a fire lit in the wood stove (greatly appreciated!). The apartment was spotlessly clean, well-outfitted, and was just perfect for our needs. The outdoor setting is incredible, and I don't think I would ever tire of waking up to that spectacular view. It was a bit too chilly for the pool, but I'm sure that would be a good reason for a return visit in the summer! We had been seeking a place to stay close to friends who have a nearby home, and it was less than 5 minutes away from their place. We all loved going into the little village of Tortella, and particularly enjoyed watching a FC Barcelona soccer match with the locals at "The Casino" (town restaurant/pub). We also had a fantastic meal at Restaurant Pont Vell in nearby Besalu, which is a beautiful medieval village 10 minutes away. We hope to return to the area to see our friends in the future, and will definitely plan to stay at Can Cruanyes again---thank you!!!

If you arrive in the rain and drive through drab towns en route (as we did), don't be put off... once you reach Can Cruanyes, the landscape becomes absolutely wonderful.... a true getaway. Here, up in the mountains, you'll find a different micro-climate even from nearby historic Besalu (which, by the way, definitely warrants a visit). The peaks have an almost bluish cast -- and when were were there in May, it was lush and full of wildflowers. Donny, the on-site manager (and owner's son), couldn't have been nicer. He's actually Irish -- and is easy going and very accommodating. Yes, we arrived mid-week and before peak season, but, all the same, he didn't have to offer us (just a couple) a three-bedroom apartment for the price of the one-bedroom (which happened to be unavailable). Extremely nice and entirely unexpected! It was a bit too early to plunge into the pool, which appeared sparkling clean, quite big... and again, in this glorious setting. Enjoy!

As a Dutch, I should review my opinion with respect to holiday destination. So far it was Sweden as the utmost in friendly people, nature, good feeling and accommodation (clean, well-maintained). But now after having visited Can Cruanyes, I am lost! I feel desperately now. Who is the best and what to do next time? The only way to solve this problem is to visit your place again, I hope as soon as possible.

Can Cruanyes proved to be the best base for exploring the Pyrenees & the Garrotxa area, and a very comfortable place to return to in the evenings - we started to refer to it as 'home' on the 2nd day of our stay :) The house is in a very quiet location, surrounded by forested hills & mountains, but it takes only 15 minutes to get to Olot and about 35 to Girona - so we were never too far from civilization when we needed it! The apartment was always very warm (very important for a stay in winter) - central heating works very fast, and a fireplace (wood, matches etc were provided) was a real treat. The bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room had all the facilities listed on the website, all was in good working order. The owner, Donny, was very helpful and answered all the questions that we had, and gave recommendations on eating out in the neighbouring villages. Oh, and he had prepared a nice welcome pack on our arrival, which was gladly and instantly consumed! For those unfamiliar with Spain, be prepared that almost everything is closed for a very long siesta - longer than in other mediterranean countries, sometimes from 13-00 to 17-00 (pharmacies, public toilets, stores) and in low season even restaurants stay closed for lunch and/or dinner on some odd days. Various places are closed on Mondays or Tuesdays, and it is not advertised anywhere, so call the place you want to visit (restaurant, museum, animal park etc) in advance to check. The good thing is that After siesta quite many stores re-open and work till late (9-10pm). Despite some surprises we had with the above peculiarity, our vacation in Catalunya was thoroughly enjoyable, and our choice of Can Cruanyes as a place to stay contributed to it greatly!

Very cosy and extremelly well equipped holiday home (especially as compared to the price). Everything was very clean and well maintained. It was clear the the owners (we only saw one, she was very friendly and conveniently spoke English) decorated the house with love. Always a very warm welcome by Luna, the dog. Even the one bedroom home has a washing machine. Heating (central and fireplace) are exellent. Good bed with duvets en pillows (no neckrolls!). The description regarding the location was very accurate, which is just as well, because the farmhouse is outside a village. Surroundings are beautiful. In Tortella you can have a nice dinner (form 8.30) in the rock cafe for 10 euro. If anyone would go to this area, I would certainly recommend it. Do NOT forget to visit Besalu, a small, but beautiful medieval village. Figueres (Dali-museum) is not to be missed, nor are Cadaques and Port LLigat. A trip to Andorra (though quite a drive), is a beautiful daytrip). etc. etc. etc. Lots and lots to do, very nice people. The fact the they speak Catalan is no problem, because everybody will answer you in Spanish (as long a you try to as well), or try to help you with signs (English is not widely spoken).
