Beautifully converted room. With beautiful en suite with bath and shower. Plenty of wood beams, very atmospheric. Easy to get to Wangford or Southwold for dinner.

BEWARE OF BOOKING. We were screamed at by the 'host' - I have never in my life experienced anything like it. We were less than half an hour late to check out and both 'hosts' persistently rammed down our door then proceeded to swear at us (to 'F off' out of her house) because we missed breakfast. She then gestured a swear word out of the window as we were leaving (SHOCKING). We found the situation bizarrely comical at the time, however in retrospect this behaviour should not be tolerated. This is no way to treat anyone, let alone a PAYING guest. Checking out under half an hour late should not have led to such a situation and the woman in charge would do well to attend some anger management sessions. I would also add that the rooms are very old and huge (very creepy) and the shower barely works.

The Stables is in an ideal location for those seeking peace and quiet, and is, in fact, over half a mile from the main road. The room had very high ceilings, was spacious, and had more than adequate drawer and wardrobe space. The bed was extremely comfortable and was equipped with numerous pillows and cushions. This really was a spacious and comfortable room. Also, the breakfast was excellent, with a good range of tasty choices, all delivered with copious amounts of tea or coffee.

Although the bathroom was also spacious and adequately equipped, I had a problem with the shower, which was small, and the entry point was raised, making entry difficult for any person of a big build or having arthritic joints.

Great breakfast, lovely room with comfortable bed. Host, Alan, was very attentive.

Access to the estate grounds for walking would have been the cherry on the cake, but unfortunately not allowed
