The property was gorgeous. it was very picturesque and peaceful.

A magnificent house that has been completely refurbished to a very high standard, tastefully decorated to fit with the location and exactly what you think of when you imagine the south of France. The host Brian added a lot to our stay, his charm and ease with people made us feel immediately at home. Brian is friendly and full of energy and is the heart of this venue. We ate dinner there three times and the food was fabulous , all homemade by Brian. Breakfast was also something we looked forward to with lots of fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses etc. Overall we loved every minute - great location if you are looking for a base to explore Provence.

Excellent breakfast and delightful dinner in gorgeous surroundings. Rooms are very spacious and tastefuly decorated. Owners create warm and friendly atmosphere. Trully one of the kind provance experience!

Internet connection could have been better

The stylish Bastide is full of life, providing a restful atmosphere and the perfect setting for interesting conversations with fellow guests and the whole team. A truly unique experience paired with Brian's excellent cooking - dinner is not to be missed. Myself and my boyfriend felt truly at home. Take a short taxi, bike ride, or walk into Avignon, or just lounge by the pool indulgently. LGBT friendly.

Gorgeous property with beautiful and comfortable rooms and incredible service. The owner - Brian - could not have been more kind and hospitable and went out of his way to provide us with guidance and insight to the area. Alex was amazing - even with our very late arrival she welcomed us with a friendly smile and delicious snack. We wholeheartedly recommend this special place!

The breakfast was excellent!! Homemade Omelettes and so many pastries and the cheese and meat spreads were out of this world. And the homemade jam was to die for!

The room was spacious, with charming decorations, original artwork and a grand balcony overlooking the grounds. The generous breakfast featured freshly picked figs, succulent melon, tasty pastries and a selection of delicious local cheese. The host Brian is utterly charming and helpful. Our favourite experience was an intimate dinner at the bastide. We sipped wine and ate heartily while the sun descended over the greenery. This is why you come to Provence!

The owner was wonderful, welcoming and full of knowledge of the area with helpful tips. Rooms and beds were amazingly comfortable and large - with gorgeous views of his many acres. Amazing chef too - the food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast is perhaps one of the best and lavish we’ve had ! There’s also a gorgeous pool in a verdant spacious garden. It was such a comforting retreat after our day's adventures - we felt totally at ease and appreciated the inclusive environment. Would return in a heartbeat !

We loved everything about this property- the spaciousness, the authentic and historic feel of the place, the quiet setting beautiful trees and the safe fun short modern bike ride with basket into either Avignon or New Avignon (or shirt 1 Mike drive with free parking outside city walls) But most of all the owner, host and trained chef, Brian, who was the most welcoming and knowledgeable proprietor we have met on our many travels to many lands. The homemade breakfasts and nightly dinners were a feast for the eyes and palate. The attention to detail as demonstrated by a sprig of fresh rosemary on the butter for example tells all you need to know. If you are lucky enough to secure a booking this is the most wonderful experience!

We had an incredible two nights at the Bastide de Bellegarde. The property is finished to a very high standard with great styling, and the rooms are very spacious. The location is excellent, with the property on a large block of land outside of the hustle and bustle of Avignon, however, only a short 20 minute ride or 5 minute drive from the town centre for access to an abundance of restaurant and food options if needed (with bikes provided at no extra cost) - although, why would you when the food provided on site is exceptional and served in the incredible garden at the bastide, and a selection of the best cheeses and great wine to enjoy pre and post dinner. We have left with very full tummies and full hearts! Thank you Brian and Alex for your hospitality and your recommendations of things to do and see around Avignon- we can’t wait to come back next time.

Everything! The inn is absolutely gorgeous! Brian, the owner, has thought of every little detail to make the property very welcoming. We were there for 8 days and wish it was longer. I honestly can’t say enough about Bastide de Bellegarde. The location is perfect for visiting Avignon and beyond. The breakfasts were amazing - Alex did a spectacular job with the omelettes. We really felt like we were staying with friends, rather than a “hotel” atmosphere.

We didn’t like leaving the property on our last day. We became fast friends with Brian and Alex and hated to leave.

Everything. This is the place to stay in Avignon. It is just outside the city, but is so relaxing. Brian and Alex make you feel right at home, from the moment you reach the property to the day you leave. We spent 4 days on property and could have stayed longer. The breakfasts were fantastic. The accomodations top notch. We had dinner 2 nights and these dinners were the best we had in all of France. Cant say enough about the feel of the place.

Our host Brian and his right hand woman, Alex, were excellent. Coming from Paris, this was a very relaxing change of pace. We ate breakfast and dinner there for 3 nights and the quaility and variety of the food was the best we have had so far in France. Brian's knowledge of the local food added to the postive experience. La Bastide had a lot of character, very large rooms, with modern accessories, and a great bed for restful sleeping. The property was quiet and beautiful with a patio surrounded by flowers and birds to enjoy our meals. The location wss just a short drive to Avignon but far enough to be quiet and private.

Our top floor room did get a little warm at night but Brian compensated with a fan to make it okay for sleeping.

Love how cozy and warm it felt. homemade dinners were amazing.

Host Brian and co-host Alex are delightful, attentive and made the stay very comfortable and memorable. The breakfasts and dinners are generous and delicious.

very nice. Brian and Alex have turned it into a delightful place with the remodeling of an old French country house.

the Peacock was named Marius but he really more of a George to me 😂 seriously neat place about 2 miles from old town Avignon.

Attentive service from Brian and his team, a really comfortable bed (matress and linen), excellent breakfast, and excellent home cooked rustic style dinners. We had a toddler (2 year old) with us and the staff were very understanding and helpful.

Wifi was spotty in some rooms, a minor thing

Brian was a great host! He catered for us in the best possible way. The rooms were wonderful. Brian is also an incredible cook. The dinner and the breakfast he prepared were delicious.

Everything was perfect.

Beautiful old building meticulously restored and furnished. Inviting dining room with fireplace. Warm and welcoming hosts intent on making our stay delightful.
