Thus far the experience has been great. The cottage is quaint, cozy, clean and has a kitchen that carries most of what is needed. Very quiet and a great getaway if you are looking just to slow down the pace. Downstairs bed is very comfortable. TV in living room is equipped with all the apps. The grocery store in Ovid is very meh but it is close; however, there are Wegmans stores in nearby Geneva and Auburn and they are PHENOMENAL (on par with or exceeding Heinen's in Ohio or Publix in Florida). Not alot of sit down food options nearby; again, you may need to travel to Geneva, Trumansburg, Ithaca, Watkins Glen etc for more dine-in options. Make sure to check out the Samich shop in Ovid on 96 across from the gas station. Phenomenal meat ball subs and lunch fare. Overall, I would rate this 5/5 thus far.

This is an excellent place to spend a week, close enough to the lake and all the naturally beautiful places Seneca County has to offer! We spent one day at Taughannock State park and one at Lodi State park, both a short drive and spent the rest of the time at Sheldrake point. The cottage itself is gorgeous, rustic and stylish. Wonderful stay, can’t wait to come back!

This sweet cottage comes with everything you need and has many thoughtful, cozy touches. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and being in the country yet so close to wineries. The nearby farm stand had the best peaches and vegetables. The country road was quiet and we had a peaceful stay. We will be back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed this place as our home base for exploring the Finger Lakes area. It's about 30 minutes to Ithaca, Watkins Glen, and Seneca Falls and is just up a hill from Cayuga Lake. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Quiet location was perfect for our stay. Highly recommended.

It was beautiful, visiting, upstate New York. The leaves were changing. The lake was beautiful and the wine tasted great.

We enjoyed our stay at Sweetgrass Cottage. It was very clean, cozy and comfortable. While the cottage was closer to the roadway than we expected, it was typical for houses in the area and still private/woodsy. The cottage did have a bit of a "cabiny" aroma initially but that improved as the doors were opened and we went in and out. Be aware of the drought conditions as mentioned in the amenities portion of the description and check with Roxanne prior to renting if you must have a laundry option. Roxanne was friendly and very responsive to any communications. We would recommend Sweetgrass Cottage when visiting the Cayuga lake area.

Our time at Sweet grass cottage was exceptional! The cottage was cozy, quiet and close to the beach. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We totally enjoyed our week!

Has everything you need for a stay. We had 2 couples.

My wife and I had a great trip to the area. The cottage is well maintained, has a wonderful porch and fire pit. This was our first trip to the area and we found it to be fairly quiet in mid June. The Sheldrake Point winery has a wonderful view of the lake and O’malley’s restaurant is a short drive away. Roxanne is a wonderful host!

Roxanne is a wonderful and responsive owner for the Sweetgrass Cottage. The cottage itself is a charming rustic cottage centrally located near Cayuga lake. We found the location ideal for our day-trips around the region from Seneca Falls to Watkins Glen. We stayed during the heat of summer and the A/C in the cottage was a welcome relief from our travels. Thank you, Roxanne.

We loved the property and the location, especially the deck. Our only comment would be to have a can of Raid for ants because we had a lot of ants in the downstairs bathroom. We would definitely recommend this cottage to others and hope to come back in the future.

Very nice and cozy cottage. One bedroom downstairs and one upstairs. Big M grocery store in Ovid had a good selection, and O'Malleys on the Lake was great with a nice view of the lake.

This was the perfect place for my partner and I. We were looking for a central location from which to explore the Seneca Lake area and this was it. Located between Seneca and Cayuga Lake, the cabin provides quick access to the wineries, breweries, and scenic sites. The cabin is very clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable--particularly the beds. We enjoyed the outdoor dining area, the fire pit, and the covered front porch. The neighborhood is very quiet. We had a couple of clear nights with great star-gazing (including the lunar eclipse). The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Sweetgrass Cottage is a hidden gem. Tucked away amid cornfields and wild growing grapevines, the cottage is just the right mix between old-fashioned charm and modern comforts, coziness and enough space even on rainy days. The place is well appointed, very clean and feels very welcoming. Great location to explore waterfalls, wineries, and more. We hope to come back!
