The house was very nice. It had everything you needed. It had a wonderful folder with a lot of information what to do there. I really enjoy the folder. I would like to tell family and friends about this place. Maybe we're be back next year.

The cottage had all of the amenities one could need for a stay and was large enough for others besides me. It even had a view of the bay and of course the sea lions bellowing. I would definitely stay again and plan on it for 2024.

That being said..the not so gd:There is no fireplace so do not bring wood,it's an electric heater(2 actually).Very deceiving as its stated there's a fireplace.Secondly,I noticed the bed didn't seem made very well when we first arrived,and kinda wondered about that and then especially MORE when I then found a green sock on the floor at the end of the bed and then it's match on the floor by the far side of it. Had the bed been made and the room cleaned these socks would have easily been seen. I grossed out and changed the sheets! The toilet was absolutely DISGUSTING under the rim. They charge you $35 to clean the bbq? Yet it is FULL of spiderwebs as well as the chairs and tables,not even an inviting space. We could hardly sleep on the main bed and the upstairs one was even worse.Carpet upstairs had stains everywhere,but if you put the furniture back where it was per the renter agreement,you are hiding them..again. For the fact that the owner lives on the same property I wonder if they ACTUALLY even check this place and see the condition.We are charged a "cleaning" fee but in all honesty, I wonder if WE the renters are the ones actually doing the cleaning up?! The owner should take some time and walk thru their rental BEFORE a renter comes and also actually READ these reviews.I can only give it a 3 stars as I feel like if I'm paying for cleaning and I KNOW the last person had as well..shouldn't it BE clean? Clean sheets,toilet(that WAS nasty),an honest description of what your renting as well?

The carpet had so many stains, the couch was full of hair, the windows, especially the sliding door had dirt and it started to have mold. It was very hard to open and close them. The only bedroom smelled like dog. The shower curtain have mold. You can see how it’s dusted, they go around any objects that are displayed, but not behind or on the sides. This place has such potential, but I will never stay here again. It really needs some deep cleaning. The location was nice and very quiet.

This is our 2nd stay in this home. We stayed the first time about 5 years ago. Its perfect for my husband, our 10 year old and myself. The location is perfect, the home is adorable and the neighborhood is small and quiet. The only reasons for not giving 5 stars is some of the amenities really need some updating. The bed could really use a new bedspread, its the same as it was 5 years ago and I'm not entirely sure it gets washed. The walls and windowsills need cleaning, as well as the cobwebs. Aside from those few things, we will continue to stay here when we make our anual Newport trip!

This is very fine place to stay in Newport. The Cottage is well equipped and is located on a very quiet dead end street. It is close to the harbor and to the coastal highway.

This was a GREAT place to stay! Well equipped, clean, and well laid out. It was an easy walk down to the harbor (but a bit more challenging on the way up!) Overall A+ and we will stay again!

We had a nice stay. The place was clean and will maintained. The only thing nicer would have been an oven in the kitchen. We are not familiar with a Toaster oven or an Air friyer, but we got along just fine.

This house was great for our family of four (us plus a 3 year old and an infant). The kids did amazing in the upstairs which is a great space, even has games for the kids. The master bed isn’t the must luxurious, but it slept fine. What wasn’t mentioned well in the description is the little back yard. It has a simple sitting arrangement, nothing fancy, but we thoroughly enjoyed! It was so relaxing out there. The yard has the largest fuscia I’ve ever seen. It was wonderful. The location is fantastic. It’s tucked away on a super quiet dead end road. It feels so comfy and private. It’s also very close to a lot of areas of interest, which made it super easy to navigate. We will be staying there next time we visit Newport!

Everything as described in listing - and better in person!! Very close to restaurants and shops, and a blissfully quiet neighborhood. We had all kitchen equipment we needed for "eating in", and loved having meals in the bright and cheerful kitchen. Beautiful landscaping welcomes you, and the deck upstairs has a spectacular view of water. Owner provided information for things to do, games, puzzles and books, and "house appliance" info. We wanted for nothing, and would recommend 100%!!

Our small family was very entertained, we slept well, and the kitchen was spotless. The numerous games all had ALL their pieces, the stairs were safe, the neighborhood was quiet (except for the sea lions sometimes!), and there were even art supplies for the kids-which were great on very rainy days. The kitchen had everything for cooking from home- and plenty of dishes. There were guides for everything from renting boats, to clamming to finding tidepools from the dear host- and even extra copies of maps and tourist attractions which really enhanced our stay. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night stay at the charming Cottage. The cozy upstairs living room stocked with books, games and TV, and has a great view off the upper balcony of the estuary. The bed is a little firm, but slept okay. We'll be back.

This was a smaller than expected cottage but it’s perfect for two 4s a crowd . The upstairs couch was in need of some deep cleaning (lots of chips crushed between the cushions) Other than that it was a nice place for two.

It was an easy experience with VRBO, check in and out process was straight forward. I would stay here again if needed and decided in the future.

Clean home on a quiet dead end street. Home does not have a full stove but there is a two burner range top and a toaster oven (noted in description). The only place to sit on the main floor is at the dining table. Cute patio area out back with table, chairs & grill. Upstairs has a deck with bay view.
