Outstanding home on the Atlantic coast within walking distance of everything you could need.

Title doesn’t lie Stayed in Buxton past but area around that house was under construction, so tried Diamond Shells. It was a blessing in disguise. Will be staying at this location for each stay in the future. Breathtaking view. Very very quick communication with owners. House was clean, modern and well furnished. Great time had by all

The property was wonderful! Tony was easily available if needed; however, we had no concerns or issues. The kitchen was well appointed. The frying pans looked new. The beds were very comfortable. The house was clean and there was a garden hose and outside shower available to wash off sand. A Foodlion, Ace Hardware, and Duck Donuts was just down the street. We were also very close to a BP Gas Station. It was nice to be so close to gas and groceries since we were so far south. We loved Avon. The beach and community was so inviting!

The house was just what we were looking for and only steps to the beach. We traveled with a 1 year old and wanted something where we could easily go to/from the house and the beach. Diamond Shoals did not disappoint. Unobstructed ocean views from the main living room/kitchen level on a quiet side street with only 3 homes. Only people on the beach were other renters/homeowners in adjacent homes so we had our pick of any spot we wanted. The owner (Tony) checked in to make sure things were going well and responded promptly. If you’re looking for a private, beachfront home, this is just the place. Don’t forget to try Duck Donuts, visit the Avon pier and drive on the beach at the ORV access, all within a mile of the house.

The house is beautiful!! Incredibly easy access to the beach (1 minute walk over the dunes-no road to cross). Bedrooms very comfy. Plenty of showers (inside and outside). Dining/family room/kitchen upstairs very open with gorgeous views of ocean. Four decks with beautiful views. Tony, the owner, was very responsive to any and all questions. Laundry worked great. Grocery store 1/2 mile away. We had an amazing family vacation!

This was our first time to OBX. What my wife and I loved about Avon is that it’s not overly commercialized, so laid back, clean, and what is there, is quality. Then you add in staying at Diamond Shells and it was a perfect first OBX trip and perfect house to stay in! Diamond Shells was great for us! The sunrises were awesome, the beach is so secluded that if you have a young family and want space, Avon and diamond shells is for you. The path behind the home has a sign that states it’s protected and we followed the instructions to the steps about 500 feet away. The other houses around us used the path, but we close to respect the land. Great nature and wildlife, a deer came in the evenings on the protected dune to graze. The kitchen is more than adequate IMO for a beach house, and all bathrooms were cleanly and functioning properly. The outdoor shower was perfect and worked as intended and there is also a large garden hose to use as well. Air conditioning worked well and there is a condenser unit for the main living floor(bedrooms) and the kitchen/family room (top of home) so we were quite comfortable. You’re less than 800 yards from Food Lion, a good Italian/pizza place (Greta’s), and a gas station is about 200 yards from the house. The pool is less than a mile down the road and was very clean, not full, and great to have part of your rental with Diamond Shells! You’re allowed to take a cooler and food We would definitely recommend staying here!

The house was clean, towels and linens were provided, and the location was excellent. A great choice if you want to get away from it all! There is a rather large dune to cross to get to the ocean, so that might be a bit difficult for the elderly. That being said, my mom was able to cross it with a bit of help. Definitely recommend!

Diamond Shells was the perfect house for our long weekend getaway. Tony is a fantastic host & had great communication before and during our stay. House has gorgeous views of the water, we loved waking up and watching the sunrise and we were able to spot some dolphins. It’s in a great location to many locally recommended spots as well. Thanks for having us Tony, we look forward to our next visit!

Our week at Diamond Shells was the best vacation in a long time. House is well equipped for large family, added plus we didn’t have to bring our dog crate. As one is provided. Views from upper & lower deck are nice. Comfortable furnishings inside & out. The family all agreed to stay here again. Tony Thank you again

Perfect house and location for our Delaware shop to send its team down for some off season surfing, ,kiting, winging, etc. We loved this place!

Needed a relaxing vacation and this property made it happen. We really enjoyed the short nature hike from the house thru the dunes to our paradise for the week. Great weather was a pleasant farewell to the last week of Summer and Tony was a pleasure to work with! Would definitely recommend.

Tony's house was immaculate, Very spacious for our family of 6, beautiful views and wonderful decks! The beach is a bit passed the dunes with a little bit of a hill but I had 2 strong sons to push the beach wagon . The outdoor shower also a plus rinsing off sand. Definitely recommend!

Loved our 1st stay in the OBX at this great beach house. Loved the views from the deck and the crow’s nest. The kitchen was well equipped and the great room was for meals and games. Thank you Tony for your quick responses to questions leading up to our stay.

Great place to chill on the beach. We loved Avon because it is a small town with lots of locals. We did not like the more commercial areas of the Outer Banks so this place was perfect. Make sure to bring your own dish soap & sponge, hand soap and extra towels. We have small kids and found the beach next to the light house to be the most kid friendly. There is a baby gate available at the house, which was also helpful.

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable, family friendly house on the beach. We enjoyed the large living area overlooking the ocean, and the well equipped kitchen was a pleasure to prepare meals in. The view from the deck of the ocean is so relaxing, and the beach is just a short walk through the dunes. Tony, our host, was very responsive to our questions, with great suggestions. The photos of the property are accurate, and everything was just as described.
