This was acquaint, cute and comfortable house! It was far enough out of Ithaca for peace and quiet yet very convenient to get to attractions and get necessary items. We would stay there again!

This property is located outside of Ithaca for a quieter vibe yet within a 5-10 minute drive from Cayuga Lake and downtown.
It was easy to navigate, great communication, and perfect for a girls getaway weekend!

Fairy-Tale cottage, tastefully decorated inside and out, close to Ithaca and Cornell University. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Host was also lovely and super-responsive.

Beautiful property, very easy checkin and the communication with the owner was great. Very close to town but far enough out where there isn’t a lot of commotion.

We had a fantastic stay at the Timber Garden Cottage. Its location is perfect--not right in the downtown area, but conveniently close. It was also a good base for driving out to several area waterfalls. The living area is laid out as an "L" and was spacious with super-comfortable couches. There was a pretty garden with a couple of Adirondack chairs to enjoy a drink outdoors. The beds and bedding were high-quality and comfortable. We didn't cook while we were there, but coffee, tea, sugar, ice, a few welcome snacks, and some miscellaneous staples left by other tenants were there on arrival, and I was envious of the professional gas stove, left over from this property's former identity as the Wild Flour Baked Goods company. Be prepared to use a French press if you are a coffee drinker; if you aren't, bring a small coffeemaker with you! The AC is window mounted and supplemented by fans, but even with a loft and a heat warning, the house stayed comfortably cool. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return during high flow time in the spring or early summer.

We loved our stay at the Timber Garden Cottage
It was close enough to downtown but too close. We loved being in the quiet outside of the downtown but loved we could fry to it easily. We will absolutely rent again when we go up to see our student.

We had a wonderful time. The house is beautifully crafted and spacious. We enjoyed the outdoor patio next to the gardens with a glass of wine. The location is perfect - close to downtown Ithaca, but far enough away that you don't know its there. Close to the lake and many wineries and breweries. We had a nice time at Bet the Farm Winery, which is just a skip down the side road. We also enjoyed Knapp Winery, Goose Watch Winery, Liquid State Brewery, Buttermilk Falls and Taghaunick Falls. We hope to come back again!

We enjoyed our stay. Great location. The cottage is exactly as described, very charming.
The mattress and linens are high quality and comfy. Probably the nicest most contemporary bathroom we've had in a private rental. Audra provided full sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and toilet paper. More generous than a high end hotel.
Plenty of glassware, dishes etc. and all very clean. Audra was nice enough to leave some healthy snacks in the counter bowl to welcome us.
If I had to leave one constructive critique - some of the pots/cookware were grimy. Probably due to not being used in a while or whomever did use last did a rush job washing. Easily remedied and small issue in the scheme of things. It gave me a great excuse not to cook much :)
Plenty of cleaning supplies were provided so we could clean up throughout our week's stay, if needed.
Overall, cozy and enjoyable. We will be back.

Great communication with the property manager. The place is so lovely and cozy. We didn't want to leave. I would definitely recommend it to others!!

Super cute and somehow feels private even though it is along a busy road.

We enjoyed our stay at Timber Garden Cottage. It was the perfect location for all the sightseeing we wanted to do, including Buttermilk Falls State Park, Robert H. Treman State Park, Taughannok State Park, the Sheldrake Winery, and the Fingerlakes Cider House. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated, cute, clean and comfortable!

We loved staying at the Timber Garden Cottage. It's beautiful and just a few minutes' drive from Ithaca. Communication with the host was fantastic. We hope to come back soon. : )

Over all we loved the rental! We slept well after we
hiked 3 water falls, and visited both Ithaca and Watkins Glen.
Several items could have better .... such as a Keurig with coffee cups instead of the "French Press" coffee. All & all we had a wonderful time!

My spouse and I stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. The cottage was very cozy and we loved the post and beam interior and its unique decor. It is located on a busy road, but we really didn't notice the traffic noise while inside. It is conveniently close to Ithaca where we dined at the Ithaca Bakery (would recommend visiting there) and the Moosewood Restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage is also very close to many beautiful waterfalls which we visited. All in all, a great place to visit and a really nice cottage to enjoy after our outings.

This VRBO was cute. A couple of comments/suggestions…since the floor is concrete, I definitely suggest some more area rugs as floor got chilly in the morning and evening. Secondly, lots of lightbulbs were out in the rental. The 2nd floor loft was nice but floorboards were very creaky so if someone got up during the night to use the bathroom the other person definitely was woken up even though we tried to be quiet. Bathroom was updated and nice with nice amenities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as only 8 minutes or so from downtown, wineries and hiking places. It was a different VRBO for us with its unique charm.

Property is just as described. Very clean, easy ride to downtown Ithaca. No issues at all. Would definitely stay again.

This was a bakery and greenhouse business turned small cottage for 2-3 people. Just outside of Ithaca, not far from everything Ithaca has to offer. Beautiful windows and woodwork inside, with a nice loft area for sleeping.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely and modern property in a peaceful setting. Audra was super easy to get in touch with and very accommodating. If we have one constructive suggestion, it’s to add more light in the bathroom, particularly at the mirrors, where it’s a bit dark for men’s shaving. But the bathroom has been renovated recently and is nicely appointed. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. This was our first stay at a vacation rental and we’ll be happy to do it again…at this property, if it’s available. Many thanks for a wonderful stay, Audra.

The cottage was even cuter in person. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend and will return.

Cozy, sunny spot
This place was perfect for my husband and I over the long weekend of our wedding. It was a nice quiet oasis for the two of us. (I was a little worried that there might be noise from traffic on route 96, but I didn't notice it at all.) The place is just as light as the photographs show. We walked the ~15 minutes down the road to Bet the Farm Winery and didn't have to worry about driving after having a couple glasses in their lovely outdoor seating area.

Cozy cottage
This was a perfect getaway cottage for myself and two of my college friends. The large table was perfect for board games and we had a nice fire outside one night. We loved the loft space, but it is open, so sound carries up there if you're trying to sleep when others are still awake. Overall, it's a super cozy space that worked great for us, and it's also so close to downtown Ithaca and Taughannock falls.

Great Weekend Getaway
My wife and I had a great time here! The space was great - clean, bright, and unique. We would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a nice place in the Ithaca area!

Timber Garden Cottage Get-Away
This "cottage" was just right for my young adult daughter and myself for the weekend! We loved its uniqueness and found it quite comfortable for the two of us. The recently updated bathroom is not just functional, but very tastefully appointed (that said, a little more light in there would be a plus). We enjoyed the opportunity to stay, and lucked out to discover the cottage was midway between the bridal shower we were attending at Taughannock State Park and the home our friends live in on West Hill in Ithaca. Being located on a main road did lend itself to traffic noise. At this time of year, with windows and doors closed, the noise level was noticeable as background noise, though not unpleasant or difficult to adapt to. This may be different if attempting to enjoy the outdoor areas of the property in more welcoming weather conditions. Overall, we had a pleasant 2-night stay and would recommend this fun and inviting cottage for a couple, or a couple of friends, who want to explore the Ithaca area, as it's a quick drive to downtown, parks, and winery attractions.

Spacious & open loft space
We really enjoyed our stay at the Timber Garden Cottage. The space is light and airy with a unique set-up relative to other space at which I've stayed. I needed a place to stay ahead of my wedding that would allow me to buy and prep some food. There was plenty of fridge and counter space and two ovens (one for cooking, one primarily for warming) for prep.
The common area was very comfortable with two couches and a large screen TV with Netflix access. There was good water pressure and strong internet access. The property also has a lovely garden, a vine covered seating area, and a firepit for relaxing outside.
We had a slight issue with water given some work being performed by the city. This was entirely outside of the control of the property, but the manager was very responsive and helped address the problem immediately.
A few minor notes more for awareness than knocks:
- the property can be a bit difficult to find at night which was exacerbated by road closures in the area (we arrived close to 10pm)
- there is no carpeting in the rental given the former industrial use. Again, not a knock, but the floors can get a little chilly so be sure to pack socks or slippers
- the pictures make it seem a bit like there are two separate rooms (or at least that's how I perceived the set-up), but the sleeping area is actually one large loft with a queen bed & single bed in the same space.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Timber Garden Cottage for anyone looking for a spacious place to relax a bit and explore the area!

Timber Garden Cottage in Ithaca, NY
A very nice cottage. Everything you need is provided and Audra was a great communicator. All appliances worked well, comfortable beds, good internet, a very relaxing time. A short drive into Ithaca or Watkins Glen.
Improvements suggested: Many burned out light bulbs, tons of poison ivy on the property, especially near the fire pit. Be careful if you're as allergic as we are...

Great location and fun property
We had a lovely 4 days here, using the home as a jumping off spot to visit Ithaca as well as various state parks in the region. Would recommend the cottage for a couple or maybe a family with one child. The sleeping space is a loft that is fully open to the floor below so take that into consideration. It's got a great style to it - with big wooden beams and a chunky wood staircase up to the loft. The bathroom (as one other reviewer commented) is a little unusual given the nature of being a converted commercial space. The shower is a tub with a ring of shower curtains all around which felt just a little snug, but overall it's a very functional pleasant space.

Cute garden cottage
Audra's place was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was easily accessible from Ithaca and the Cayuga wineries but still felt peaceful and secluded. We enjoyed using the kitchen and the grill during our stay. Didn't have a chance to enjoy the fire pit, so we will save that for next time ;)

Great place
Our stay at this property was wonderful!! From booking, to check in, to check out, all went extremely smooth. Audra was great at answering all our questions and also gave us restaurant suggestions as we were celebrating our 30th Anniversary. She even left a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for us!!! She was the best and helped make our trip so enjoyable! The cottage was so clean, quaint and centrally located to all destinations in Ithaca. I highly recommend a stay at Timber Garden Cottage❤️

Cozy, cute stay near Taughannok
Adorable cottage with communicative owner. No hitches or issues whatsoever. Quick drives into downtown Ithaca and nearby “gorge-ous” Taughannok State Park.

Living in Oregon, we had a planned vacation to visit our daughter and her partner Jeff. About a month out we get a cryptic text message about marriage, eloping etc. After a bit of discussion, we were in full blown wedding preparation from 3000 miles away. Between Jean and Kegan, the idea of a wedding on a sailboat made it to the top of the list. The wedding week was a total success and we dropped off the newlyweds at their home in Brooklyn. Now it was time to unwind and take some time for ourselves. While we did some, not much, geocaching during the wedding week, it was time to get some caches. First stop was Ithaca and a really cool VRBO that use to be a flower shop and then a bakery. When we walked in, we were stunned at the craftsmanship. The posts and beams were neat and truly authentic. It was a hot day, and the air conditioners quickly cooled the place down. We got to break in the new BBQ that evening with a nice fish and a glass of local wine finished off with a good Irish whiskey. The outdoor chairs and tables were the perfect place to eat and relax. After dinner we settled into the entertainment room and watched a couple of our favorite shows on the big screen TV. Finely we were unwinding, and we went upstairs to the spacious bedroom. The next morning, we were off to explore and geocache the local area. It is definitely geocache rich, especially with the new Adventure Lab CachesOverall, we were very comfortable here for our week that we stayed. Lest us not forget to mention how convenient this home is for visiting all things Ithaca and Watkins Glen. Now we are on our way to the Canandaigua Lake to find and log the oldest geocache in NY state, The Spot, very famous and is one of the original five put out in May of 2000.
