Couldn't have been happier.

The property was beautifully landscaped. The house was clean, comfortable, and supplied with all the amenities to make one’s stay stress free and fun. We were a family group of 13. Eight adults and five children under the age of five. Bikes, boogie boards, games, kayaks, ping pong, 56” television, and a weight room station are just some of the perks provided. The kitchen was stocked with multiple electric appliances, pots, pans, dishes, glasses etc.. The Mermaid House was set up to make the guests feel like they were in their own home and whatever was needed at a moments notice was readily available. We had a great time and would gladly rent again.

My children had so much fun on our family vacation. We walked to the ocean twice a day. They had so much fun finding all the tiny crabs and shrimp. We cooked some fresh Maine Lobster in the phenomenal kitchen. The most organized rental I have ever been in. The house manual was also so helpful and well thought out. We really enjoyed The Mermaid House and hope to book again in the future.

When family is spread out around the country, it's always a great event when we can get everyone together! We gathered at Mermaid House to celebrate Christmas, coming from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Wyoming, Texas and Florida. The house itself was perfect--large dining room table around which we enjoyed delicious food and wine, comfortable accommodations for all, including a great bonus room, where we hung out and played games. Speaking of games, there is an awesome assortment of games, packaged in their original boxes with laminated instructions and small plastic bags so you know exactly what and how many pieces there should be. Amazingly well organized! Loved walking the neighborhood and the nearby beaches, even though it's March! The house manual with all the details about the house, the area, recommendations, etc., is the best we have seen to date!

We really enjoyed our stay! The living area, kitchen and dining room were very nice. The single en suite bathroom, as others have said, was very tiny! But we had plenty of towels!! We had trouble getting the back deck door locked the entire time there. Also, there is no “gate” to unlock—it is a garage door. That threw us off. Guess the one thing that we were surprised at was only 2 dish towels. For 6 people. Staying 5 days. Location was nice being so close to the ocean and a sandy beach. Out of the bustle of the cities, but close enough to get anywhere. Highly recommend.

(Only thing lacking is a large skillet). The outdoor spaces and gardens are beautiful. And the garage full of toys for all ages is fantastic. We enjoyed the sandy and Rocky beaches, both a short walk, as well as the Audubon trail. This year we enjoyed a day trip to Portland which was fun.

Great location, lots of room for all, wonderful and well-equipped kitchen. Very clean, loved the table on the deck and the fire pit. Upstairs (where the bedrooms are) could use a coat of paint (chipping on doors/walls/window frames) and a little updating (tiny showers in 2 bathrooms). Beds comfortable. Had a great time there with extended family, good memories

Had a great weekend stay at this beautiful cottage! House was spacious and extremely well stocked with everything you could need! You won't need to bring anything extra with you. Plenty of seating in the kitchen/living area and also at the big dining room table. Basement game room was a huge bonus! The labeling and instructions taped everywhere were a bit much though. We were confused at first by the very large binder full of check out instructions that were about 25 pages long...luckily we rented through Vacasa, and their check out procedures were very simple. The 'master' bathroom shower was so tiny, not really suitable for adults. Other than that, everything was great!

Myself and 7 co-workers of mine rented the Mermaid house for the weekend. We make-up a clinical team that has had a strenuous year trying to keep our clients safe and engaged for the past covid-year. The house served as an central point for creating meals together, engaging in the healing arts of yoga, meditation, and acupuncture. The house has an open concept design and is comfortably and tastefully decorated, furnished and equipped with top of the line appliances and modern conveniences. Saturday started with walking down the end of of the street to watch the sun rise. The sunny March weather and the location of the house allowed for a relaxing day at the beach and a cold dip in the ocean. The full moon snd fire pit supported a night of jokes and story telling. We all returned to work on Monday feeling a little closer to one another, less fatigued, and better prepared to deal with the day to day stress that is a bi-product of the work we do. I also had the pleasure of meeting two representatives of Vacasa on my way out the door, and the were both incredibly helpful and friendly. We have decided to try to re-create the weekend again in October 2021.
