This place had more than enough space for our group of 15. It was well stocked with linens and kitchen stuff. We didn’t need anything. The kids had a great time with access to the lake. Our host was very communicative.

The log cabin was very nice and felt just like home! There were plenty of extras left for us to use: toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, detergent, hand soap, games, books, blankets, nice small appliances, pots, pans, and cutlery. I’ve stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and this one had all the things we needed.
A few things to add: There is only one queen bedroom on the main floor and then a back room with two sets of bunk beds and a sofa bed. Up a steep flight of stairs are two full/queen bedrooms and one bedroom with a full and twin bunk bed set. These three bedrooms do not have full walls and are not private. It was ok for our group but was also hard for our kids to fall asleep if other family members were in the dining room playing a game or a family member that is a snorer. The bathrooms both had large steps to step up into the shower tub. Lastly, we rented a pontoon boat and were not able to tie it to the dock because the water is too shallow by the dock. We had to tie the boat to a bouy and walk through the lake to get to the dock. This was a challenge for one of our older parents and a pain to transport items to the boat. It is shallow enough to walk and the lake floor is made of sand. Just wanted to mention it as we paid a lot of money to rent the boat (from Bass Lake Rental) and it definitely hampered our use of the boat. If I would have known that information ahead of time, I probably would not have rented it. The neighbors do not like renters there.

Great stay! Beautiful home and beautiful location!!

Didn't know a lake like this existed right there! It was peaceful and just what we needed for a retreat. The houses are close together but that wasn't a problem for us. Plenty of room to spread out in the house and outside and seating outside was great. The inflatable mattresses that were part of the sleeping arrangements were pretty thin, wish we had known that so that we could have brought our own. However, it was one night so not a huge problem. Plenty of kitchen items (not always a guarantee in a rental) and seating. Loved it!

Property was cute, cozy and a great place to host friends! Owner was friendly and responsive.
Had a great stay!

We had a great stay at Unity Cabin. The kitchen is well stocked and plenty of seating for our group of 10. We wanted to note that although VRBO lists a hot tub, there is no hot tub. This was unfortunate as it was a search criteria we were looking for when planning. The reviews are helpful to read and accurate. As noted by others, there’s not a lot of privacy in the upstairs rooms and noise travels throughout the house. We were a mixed group and it was hard to find a good place for kids going to sleep earlier. The sleeper sofas are also - predictably pretty uncomfortable and likely need to just be retired or not presented as an option. Otherwise, everything was wonderful and communication with the host was easy.

We had a big family get together with all the nieces/nephews and it was great. So much to do around the property, accommodations were perfect, kids loved the bunk beds. It was so much fun.

This was the perfect place for a group of 5. All 5 bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen was very nice and had great cookware/appliances. Everything is clean and functional while still charmingly cozy. The Wi-Fi is good and the couches are comfy. We would absolutely stay here again.
Some advice: 1) Bring earplugs or a sound machine, especially if anyone is staying in the bedroom at the top of the stairs (it has a cutaway wall, and sound carries well). 2) The local grocery store is quite minimal and did not have some items we considered to be basic (asparagus, raspberries, logs of mozzarella cheese, balsamic vinegar), so plan ahead. 3) The stairs are a bit tricky/slippery and would be hard for someone with mobility issues.

We are a family of 9 adult siblings and spent 4 nights at the Unity Cabin on Bass Lake. Our experience in the cabin was comfortable and well supplied and stocked with what we needed for our stay. The views and porch could not have been more spectacular on the lake and well positioned on the lake for a quiet respite from the hustle and hectic normal lives of the city. We are grateful for small things like enough plugs for electronics, enough soap and shampoo and laundry supplies. Paper products of all sorts were a bonus keeping us from having to go to the store off property. We found the cabin in great order and quite clean.
Thank you for a wonderful sibling reunion. We highly recommend this property for anyone who is reading this. We are owners of 10 VRBO properties in Chicago and are extremely knowledgeable of what is takes to be an owner of a vacation property.

House has everything you would need inside. We had plenty of room.
This was my 1st VRBO experience and will continue to use this service over hotels.
I highly recommend this place with having such a beautiful home and access to the water.

This lake house was beautiful, but I wish I would have read the reviews about the road the runs between the house and the accompanying beach! We had hoped to put floaties on our littles and allow them to run around, but couldn’t do that with a road. It was very nerve wracking. It’s a busy road, too.
Otherwise it’s a beautiful home. The steps to the back door aren’t to code, which made it difficult for my elderly mother to access it without help.
The home is well-stocked and beds are quite comfortable. A/C works great. But, the water tastes “funny.” We brought bottled water so it wasn’t too big of a deal. Just something to note.
Make sure you have the access code to the lock box saved somewhere besides your phone. Cell service is spotty, but thankful for excellent WiFi.

Enjoyed our stay. The beds were bad especially the sleeper sofas but we used air matresses. There weren't any beach towels either. There is a road between the house and beach which isn't obvious in the pictures but we found out earlier and brought things to do in the water and on the beach. The lake has a long beach area so there is no need to worry about little kids. The kitchen is well stocked and we appreciated the two coffee pots!

We had 10 adults stay for a long weekend. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the lake was nice. It’s all sand bottom, but very shallow. We could stand in the middle. They had several restaurants on the lake, which was cool. The neighborhood was nice, but it was clear that the neighbors next door were not partial to renters.
The house was nice, but the bedrooms were not really very private. The upstairs bedrooms were all open at the top so when one person is up, everyone can hear that person. The only there thing that was somewhat misleading is the lake is right across the street so if you have littles, beware. The cars don’t go fast, maybe 15 mph, but it’s a high traffic area.
Make sure you read the fine print in terms of pricing for this house. Even though it claims to sleep in the 20s, it charges you for over 4 people per night. That adds up quickly. Also, comfortably, you could fit 12 adults in beds, otherwise you are sleeping on pull out couches and air mattresses.
Allen was very easy to work with and responded to any messages almost instantly. The house was well stocked with whatever you needed. It was clean and overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Overall, pretty solid family vacation. Bass lake had its advantages and disadvantage if your an avid boater.
You CAN’T dock a boat or jet ski at this property. It’s only 1-1.5 feet deep for about 400-600 yards from the dock itself. You must anchor at that depth and walk to the dock.
Very convenient for those with little kids as this provided a great play area and float/hangout area for adults.
House is much smaller than advertised and should be listed for around 15-16 people.
The lake itself is not setup for avid boaters that like to tube//ski/wakeboard or surf. Very shallow overall. Boat ramp is very unsatisfactory.
Owners were quick to respond and easy to deal with. Be careful of extra costs for groups over 4. Price doesn’t adjust on website for number of people traveling so this will be added later.

This was our second stay here, a very beautiful cabin love the sandy beach area for the grandchildren. Plenty of everything to cook with. I wish the large upstairs bedroom would be replaced w/ a new mattress and even a queen size bed (plenty of room). Beautiful view of the lake and plenty of seating outside for my early morning coffee.

We take an annual lake trip with a group of 12 and so bass lake was our choice this year! The cabin is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen as well as bathrooms and supplies where completely stocked. We usually have to bring additional towels, toilet paper, paper, towels, etc. but that was not the case here everything was plentiful. Check in and check out process was simple and good communication with owner. Shower and tub were difficult to maneuver because of high steps that some could not take. All in all very nice location. Clean beach area with water access. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at this cabin with friends for two days over the Christmas holiday. The cabin and the area are beautiful. The space was comfortable, well equipped, and easy to get around. We greatly enjoyed our time. Only notes would be the wifi strength and that the cabin has a lot of open concept rooms so sound travels easily. Would stay again!

My youngest 2 grandchildren call the cabin the Christmas house. This was the first year we rented a place for the weekend for Christmas. We had 19 in are party and we had a blast.

The kitchen was completely stocked for Christmas baking and big family dinners. We brought our own items and didn’t need them. The house was a perfect size for us. My only complaint is that the listing is for a 5 bedroom house that sleeps 28 but you get charged $25 per person after 4 people every single day. That cost more than the nightly stay. I’ve never rented a place that does this
My kids said it was their best Christmas ever!

We loved the log cabin look!. The neighbors were helpful and friendly. It was a lovely place to walk around the lake. The cabin was VERY clean! It was tastefully decorated. There were lots of dishes, pans, and whatever you needed for the kitchen. The laundry tubs were huge and well supplied. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. Lots of seating for the 12 of us. The canoe was a really nice one with backs on the seats. Lots of chairs around the beach area and fire pit. One thing we would do if we go again is bring our bikes or rent a golf cart. People drive slowly and lots of golf carts on the road. And when inside the cabin it was very quiet. The grill is super large and worked well.
We would definately rent again.

Girls week 2022
This was a great property . Loved the lake & the area . Plenty of space for large groups inside & out. The only drawback is the step in bath tubs . Walk in showers would be safer & more practical for all age groups . Very clean & supplied well .

Great place
Great for a large family that wants to stay together. Large living room dining area combination with table that seated 12 for Us. . My only suggestion would be a second refrigerator in the laundry room to accommodate large registrations. The steps are steep and the bottom step blends perfectly with the floor so several of us almost fell thinking we were at the floor when we were not.

Lake and Location Perfect For My Family
My family spent 3 nights, hubby, me, my 3 sons and their gf's. We loved the lake. I've spent time as a kid at lake geneva and I absolutely loved this sand bottom shallow lake. We rented a boat from Double D on the other side of the lake (pontoon) which was just a boat and pretty old but tubing was a little challenging due to the lake shallowness. Still was fun and we made due. The house itself was phenomenal. Lots of space and well stocked. I can't think of anything we didn't have. I felt like the location of this house was the best on the lake. There are 2 places walkable to eat which is great, maybe not the hours for our family but still a nice option. I highly recommend for family's with young kids and also teens. 4th of July time was alot if fun. Very friendly people too. Golf cart would have been fun since everyone has one.

Great family vacation
We enjoyed the location, the cleanliness and set up. The beach sand along the waters edge was the perfect spot for our grandkids building sandcastles. Our campfire next to the beach making s’mores with the family was a big hit. We enjoyed seeing our family and making great memories.

Great place to stay!
We had a great experience. There’s a lot of room in the living room/dining kitchen area for large group. The lake is nice, and our kids (ages 2 and 6) loved playing in the sand and water. The water is very shallow for a long ways, so it’s great for kids to play. Even a few hundred yards out, adults were waist deep. The owners left a nice manual to cover the area and things like food options.
The only thing I would say is that if you get more than 15 or 16 adults, you’re really maxing out sleeping arrangements. If there are small children, it’s easier to share some of the beds and pullout couches, but with teenagers and adults it can be a tight fit.
Overall, it’s a great property and was set up well to host larger groups. There are a lot of people around walking, biking, and driving golf carts. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

Bass Lake
Awesome property, well appointed and very clean and comfortable. Close to Culver Academy where our event was and located on a nice lake with a few nice restaurants/bars within walking distance of the property. Would definately stay there again.

Family Weekend
The property is very pretty and the frozen lake was beautiful.
Lots of kitchen stuff, games etc. However there are a few things I would like to share. When we arrived we called the owner as we had trouble getting in and could not reach him. Although our phone signal was very bad so maybe that was the reason he could not call back, not sure. We finally got in. Both of the bath tubs are raised and you have to use small steep steps to get in. Also we had 20 in our party and there are not enough beds. There are sofa sleepers (not comfortable) we used an air mattress we brought with. A group of 15 would be fine, but the three sofa beds we had to use to fit everyone were not the bet. Beautiful house, nicely decorated. We made the best of it and had fun.

Talk about a view
This was an amazing experience! The home was beautiful and well prepped for my family and I. My family had an amazing time. I look forward to going back when it’s warmer outside, to take advantage of the lake and yard. The host was very communicative. The one issue that was a little concerning is Google pulls up a different house that is down the street! It was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

Fantastic
The house was exactly as described (maybe even better).. beds were comfortable, fantastic open floor plan in the living areas and truly fully stocked as indicated (everything you would need in kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms). The outdoor space was great and there is a fire pit on the water.
My only caution might be that the house isn’t really suited for the elderly because both showers were high tubs and could be a challenge getting in and out (the bathrooms are beautiful but I know my elderly parents would not be able to use either shower).

Family reunion
Loved the house and surroundings. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed and plenty of towels for bathrooms. We had plenty of sleeping space for 14 people and found things to do. The water was to cold for swimming but my son had his two kayaks with so they did a bit of that and we had a beautiful fire last night. Loved the getaway!!

Excellent location, beautiful cabin for 12+
This is a wonderful cabin that sleeps 13 comfortably. Allen was very responsive and kind. The cabin is well taken care of, super clean and very nicely furnished. We needed nothing but clothes and food for the weekend. We enjoyed the lake even though the water was very low. The fire pit, beach and pier were nice. Highly recommend for groups with less than 14 people. If your group sleeps in recliners or on air mattresses more can squeeze in.

Cute cabin for family time
We had 8 adults and 8 children ages 9-2. The accommodations were clean and bucket decorated. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The lake was super shallow (only up to an adults waist) even walking far out into the water. It was fun for the kids to play in the shallow water and float but we did get a ton of sand in swimsuits from being in the bottom of the lake.
You may be able to tell from the pictures but three bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are very steep. This may be a concern if you have elderly family members. There is one full size bedroom downstairs and the bunk room. Showers were in tubs with stairs to get in and out. All laid out in the pictures but just in case you hadn’t noticed and have elderly family this may be a concern.
Driveway had lots of space and we parked 4 large suv and van vehicles comfortably. There is a road between the cabin and beach but it wasn’t a concern. You would need to have an adult supervising children crossing but it wasn’t so busy as to be a hazard.
We enjoyed our time and it provided a space for our family to connect and play games, laugh, and just enjoy time together.

Great 4 day family getaway❤️
I was impressed by how well stocked this rental property was! You absolutely need nothing but your food, drinks and the clothes you will be wearing. Their was 15 of us and we had a great time. Thank you!

Enjoyed the stay
We enjoyed the stay. The girls loved swimming in the lake—water was pretty shallow a long ways out from the dock, so no chance of drowning. Bring your own boat/ jet skis. Marina wouldn’t rent anything motorized due to the lake being shallow and the neighbor that rents stuff has moved away. Five bedrooms were nice—the 4th bedroom has no wall, so not much privacy.

Well stocked and clean Lake House
We stayed for 2 weeks with our 5 teens & tweens grandchildren there most of the time plus our 4 adult children on weekend. Very comfortable for the 11 of us even when thunderstorms forced us inside for games. This was the most well stocked VRBO I've ever encountered! Spices, basic baking supplies, small appliances, and paper goods provided although I had brought my own supplies! Large washer & dryer a plus. Very clean. Communication with Allen was excellent.
Only disappointment was perhaps the lake itself. Bass Lake is a very shallow lake. Docking our boat by the pier not possible. We trailered the boat and actually went to nearby Mixxinkuckee Lake for tubing most of the time. The use of Allen's canoe on Bass Lake was very nice. Of note, lake level was a record low at the start of our stay but rains made it a little better by the time we left.
We also didn't realize that the road runs between the house and the beach area and firepit. Not a problem for our crew but might be if you have a lot of small children.
Lake is very clean...no duck or geese droppings along the shore and the sand & shallowness of the beach area nice for playing.
Overall, we had a wonderful family time with lots of room to make food,, play games, and rest. Also made day trips to Fair Oaks Farms, Michigan City outlets, outdoor movie theater, Mininture golfing and arcades in both Valporaiso and Knox.

Good family time
We celebrated a 70th birthday with family, had a great time. Cabin is well equipped, comfortable furniture and beds, great kitchen to cook for a group. Lake was very low so we couldn’t get a boat but grandsons enjoyed playing in the shallow water. You have to cross road to go to lake and some cars were not watching speed limit, pretty scary when a little one heads towards it. Enjoyed our days there, even in rain showers!
