Lovely stay, nice warm and cosy apartment, clean and modern. The bath was so good after a long days walking. Great location too.

We had a really good time in Dartmouth and the property was very good, however we have a major grumble about rubbish disposal arrangements. Telling us to use a bin on the street is NOT acceptable, particularly when our neighbours all had recycling and other bins out on Wednesday morning and the bin lorry was coming down the road as we left the apartment. As keen recyclers and people who care about the environment this really pained us. Note to future guests - bin bags are not provided.
Check-in information was not received in time and we didn't know to bring our own towels, or how to gain access to the property when we arrived. For a property that had been "refurbished to the highest standards", and was described as "luxury", it really should have provided towels as standard. The welcome email system needs tightening up.

We really did have such a lovely time staying in Lower Heywood , Dartmouth. It was exactly how I expected it to be after reading other reviews. It was mentioned that parking may be an issue. We had no problems at all and were able to park every evening outside the property.
Beautiful presented place with everything you need for a relaxing break , you really can be on the quayside in less than a minute , just perfect views of the river.

Excellent location; however, the property is very dark, with the upstairs and downstairs accommodation having brick walls a few metres from windows, with no outlook. There is a very popular cafe a couple of doors down serving breakfasts from 0700 and the smell permeates into the rooms most of the day. The description of the property does not prepare you for the dark and oppressive feel to the apartment, in our opinion. The overall cleanliness was good; however, the living area carpet and settee/chair are tired with many stains.

The property is in an excellent location, close to the town & river. It was very clean (only found 1 corner where there was dust) and excellently equipped. Only real spoiler is back windows (which face in river direction) only face onto brick wall of building in front.

Perfect Honeymoon
We stayed for 5 days after out wedding, the location was fantastic and meant we could just wonder in and out of town and didn't have to drive anywhere if we didn't want to. The perfect base to explore Dartmouth and the local area and well equipped so we could relax in comfort too. Thoroughly recommend

After a considerable amount of difficulty finding Heywood and after a call to the owner we were very pleased with our accommodation
It was well equipped and comfortable and just five minutes walk to town
The fridge is very wet and drippy due to a problem with the freezer compartment (which we didn’t use) but apart from this the kitchen area has everything you need
The lounge area and bedroom are very cozy and the shower is excellent
Definitely would recommend Heywood and really enjoyed our stay

Property is in ideal location for all on offer in Dartmouth .It is nicely decorated and has all you need for a comfortable stay . However for us it was spoilt by the noises coming from appartement upstairs and both properties either side .

Our Battle of Dartmouth
The apartment was a pleasure to stay in, it became our retreat and fortress during our stay. Unfortunately the extream weather made it difficult for us to get about, rain, gales, flooded roads, you name it. This didn't distract us from seeing the uniqueness of Dartmouth. The apartment being fully equipped we were able to dry ourselves out and snuggle down in the afternoon or evening in lovely warm apartment away from the the storms. So yes we had to battle the weather but this lovely apartment more than made up for our stay. Hence the title. Our Battle of Dartmouth while staying in this 5* apartment.

Outstanding Apartment
The specification for Lower Heywood was exactly as described in the online listing - it actually exceeded expectations, It is comfortable, cosy and very well appointed. The lighting was excellent, the shower was the best and although not used the bath looked a real treat for people who like a soak! Even when the weather was poor it was a pleasure to relax in the apartment whether watching TV or reading. Big thanks to the owner who has provided an excellent, well appointed holiday home!

We loved Dartmouth. Lower Heywood is located in a quiet street yet only minutes from the river, shops & restaurants. We purchased the car park permit & left the car there all week. Lots to do in & around Dartmouth & it was lovely to have such a comfortable apartment to return ‘home’ to.

Lower Haywood
Lower Haywood was just perfect for our stay in Dartmouth, the apartment is finished and fitted to a high standard and was very comfortable as well as being close to the many restaurants, cafe's and old pubs that helped make our stay so memorable.
Just a two minute walk to Bayards Cove where we would sit every night after diner and watch the lights twinkling from Kingswear across the River Dart. (great photo opportunity)
We would highly recommend trips on both the Paddle Steamer that takes you up the River Dart and the Steam locomotive across the river that runs to Paignton.
Should we return to Dartmouth 'Lower Haywood' would be our first choice of accommodation.
