We had a great time. The place was clean, the owner was very helpful and available for questions. We enjoyed the fire pit and the Kayaks.. The basement room needs a dehumidifier, it is a bit damp and musty. Overall the place was great.

Great location for a quiet weekend getaway!

We had a great time this past weekend at Andrea’s house. She was such a great host. Really easy to get in touch with her. Andrea provided us with all the details about amenities around the house. We love kayaking and really enjoyed doing it there. Having a morning coffee with such a great view it was just amazing!

Upon arrival we spent two hours cleaning. Refrigerator was dirty and had meat juice left in bottom shelf. Stove was dirty. Floors had not been vacuumed. We washed down bathrooms. We called owner and he did refund us the cleaning fee. During Covid-19 everything was supposed to be cleaned well and was not. We were very disappointed and will not be returning.

The property was comfortable with direct access to gorgeous Lake George. The owner was responsive and the area offers a lot in terms of recreation as well as history and nature. Will definitely go back.

When we booked this vacation last year we had no idea how much we would be needing an escape! The house and property were well appointed and had everything we could have hoped for and more. We had a very lovely stay at this peaceful location at the northern end of lake George!

The sandy cove area was great for the little ones learning to swim. Lawn was perfect for ladder ball and other lawn games. The fire pit was perfectly located near the water and you can easily watch the sun go down while roasting marshmallows. The house was comfortable! Amazing week at the lake!

The house was in a perfect location for us. It's in a very quiet area with easy access to food shopping and highways to get to the South end of the Lake if you desire. The downstairs room was in need of re-storing, but the owner had told us he plans to do that over the winter. Gene was an awesome host, quickly responding to any questions we had. We are planning a trip to come back next year. Thanks Gene!

Our Family stayed at Ossahinta the week of July 27,2019. We were blessed with perfect weather so were able to enjoy swimming, kayaking and bonfires each night. The home is beautiful with tall trees around a large deck and breathtaking views of Lake George . Lots of room for children to play on lawn and home was so comfortable we never wanted to leave.! Many thanks to the owner for sharing his home and making us feel so welcome. We couldn't have asked for a better experience !

The lake house was great. Kid and pet friendly property. Swimming was excellent and location was conveniently located close to town.

Our stay at Ossahinta Lodge was enjoyed by all of us - ages ranging from 3 months old to 60+ years old. Gene was wonderful and greeted us with a bottle of wine and introduced us to the property. Inside, the house is extremely comfortable, clean, and spacious with all the amenities of home - even tvs in every bedroom! Outside it is beautifully landscaped, with spectacular lake views and plenty of room for all the kids (young and old :) )and dogs to run around! Enjoyed beginning the day drinking coffee on the deck and then all of us eating dinner on the deck and watching spectacular sunsets. At night we gazed at the star-filled skies while sitting around the firepit. Our 3 1/2 year old grandson couldn't decide what he liked better - jumping into the lake off the dock, or roasting marshmallows in the firepit. He really did not want to leave and keeps saying he wants to go back now! We rented a pontoon boat for the week from Snug Harbor Marina, which was a very short drive from the house. For a number of years we stayed at the southern end of Lake George until we outgrew that house. This was the first time we stayed at the northern end of the lake. It is much quieter, and the water was clear and warm and beautiful. Our week started off chilly and rainy but then it thankfully cleared up so we could take full advantage of our stay at Ossahinta Lodge. We hope to be back again next summer!

This vacation home was well maintained, clean and what a beautiful view of the lake! The owner was there to greet us and even left a bottle of wine and chocolates for us!! We have rented quite a few homes and no one has ever done this for us before. It was a very nice warm and welcomed touch. The owner was on hand in case we had any problems. The deck was huge with more than enough seating for all. The lawns were well maintained with again chairs throughout. We enjoyed our nights by the fire pit roasting marshmallows. The lake was just gorgeous. The swim area was very sandy which was great for our grandson. My husband, son and son in law enjoyed the kayak and we even rented a motor boat at the local marina.(I would suggest making reservations for that well in advance). The house was comforting and we felt like we were at home. The home was equipped with whatever we needed. The towns around were very quaint with lots of shopping and good restaurants. It was a wonderful week here. Thank you again to the owners of this home. What gracious hosts you were!!

Our host was there to greet us and show all the many amenities of this wonderful property. We were a party of six, 2 boys (12 & 14) ,4 adults and a Goldendoodle named Wendell. The expansive deck shaded by a Walnut tree overlooking the Great Lake George was where we spent most of our days. Table for six and many chairs. The gas grill was right outside the kitchen door for easy access. All the kitchen utensils one could imagine. He even had a keurig. The week was in the 70's and no need for AC. Perfect weather. Bring your computer, Eugene has an extender for Verizon Customers for great Wi-Fi and cell reception. We did find cell service to be at times cutting up. Voice communication was worse than texting. The biggest concern we had before renting was privacy and quiet. Well, no need to worry about either. Our goldendoodle ran around the yard endlessly with the boys and we didn't see anyone only in passing. Heaven!!! The stars at night were amazing!!!! No ambient light so it seemed there were more of them !!! The house was immaculate, furniture was casual and new. TV's everywhere !!! The boys really loved that. The house felt like you were home. Not the usual rental property. More comfortable and inviting. The mosquitos at night were bothersome. The owner had a screened in room right on the deck for late night cards and conversation. Swimming was amazing. Only 4-5 feet deep off the dock, easy walk-in stairs from the shore and sandy bottom. The water was warm ( 75 F ) and crystal clear to up to 10 feet. My nephews enjoyed playing with their water football and snorkeling for hours. The gazebo at the waters edge was also nice to provide shade and a space for all the water toys. No need to cart them up the hill each day. We brought 2 kayaks and the owner had one. Given the enormity of the lake we had our own little cove to paddle around and the water was more calm. We didn't have to worry about the kids getting out to far. There was also a big rock sticking out of the water across from the dock the boys swam to. We took the family Christmas photo with them standing on the "water".Rented a boat down the road at the Snug Marina on two separate days. Rented tubes one day. Great time had by ALL!!! Great farm stand on 9N before the ice cream stand. Best corn we ever had. Don't forget to ask about the frozen blueberry homemade pies at the check out. My only complaint is, we couldn't stay another week. We will definitely be back next year. Thank you Eugene .

My favorite part of this home is the outside and the waterfront, which was sandy, not muddy (important if you have little ones). Each day we jumped in the clean water and swam, or enjoyed a kayak ride. The property is well maintained, thick grass and private. Plenty of land for kids to run and play. Also loved the sunset and fire pit overlooking the lake. The deck was large, and we ate all meals outside and cooked on the grill. The house comfortably slept 8 people, with plenty of space. The dock right there if you have a boat too. There is a very nice public beach which is walking distance that we enjoyed as well, with lifeguards and a beach for making sand castles. The kayak is only for one, so if you like kayaking, I would rent a second for the week.
