This location had a beautiful view and serene outside location. Wonderful hosts, helped if we needed anything. We did not realize however it was the lower unit of the house. There were 2 families above us at different times during our stay, and we could hear every footstep from upstairs. Not ideal, I wish we would have known we were the lower unit, so we could expect that. Otherwise a beautiful place and we had a great time in Malibu!

I stayed for five nights by myself for a little retreat and overall I had a wonderful time and was able to relax. When I first walked up to the property I was in total awe - it's magical. The views and grounds are amazing. The property was perfect and had everything I needed. Everything was comfortable and the newly remodeled bathroom was beautiful. My *only* issue is the unit that was upstairs directly above - you can hear EVERYTHING going on inside. Every footstep, water running, talking, etc. The guests were not loud per se, it's just the floors are really loud and echo. I slept with two fans and ear plugs and could still hear when the upstairs guests came home and in the morning. Other than that, it was perfect. I would stay again but would rent the upstairs unit.

This is a lovely 'hideaway' indeed! Up the long winding road (directions are excellent) to the very private house, you'll feel like you're a million miles away from it all, but you're not. Very quiet and relaxing. I'm sorry not to be rating this higher. There were some discrepancies between the listing and the reality. The TV did not work, and although a technician was promised, one never arrived. There was no laundry--I mean, only one machine still, packaged up. The owner said they were having supply chain issues, which I totally understand, but then it shouldn't have been listed as such. We were told the caretaker would let us do it upstairs, but that never happened either. The dishes were dirty with dried on bits of food. But the apartment is beautiful and the view is neverending. There is an upstairs unit, but you won't even know it. You will feel like you are on top of the world. If the homeowners address the issues listed above -- and I'm sure the TV and laundry will be remedied -- you will be thrilled with the place. I would check with them beforehand though to make sure. Oh, and Duke's -- at the bottom of the hill -- is a great restaurant and lots of fun. Thanks, David and Ling, for the recommendation.

I proposed to my girlfriend at Point Dume and this stay made it even more memorable. The views were amazing and such an easy process.

Please exactly as described. The drive is curvy, but fun and nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. Really close to everything in Malibu and close enough to Santa Monica to get all the fun there. Hosts were very accommodating. Communication was excellent. Check in and out was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again.

Ling and David were wonderful hosts. This place is beautifully appointed, has everything you need to feel comfortable. The hosts were responsive and helpful. I highly recommend.
