HAVEN is a beautifully designed custom hillside home with an open floor plan with high ceilings and is a nice mix of traditional and modern design. A lot of thought was put into the designed in the way the panoramic windows in the main room and master bed room frame views of the San Jacinto mountain peaks. The location is ideal since it sits on a large heavily wooded lot on a small cul-de-sac street off Upper Fern Valley Rd. There are neighbors on either side of the house but the back of the house faces a valley with a beautiful mountain stream running through it and no homes in view on the downhill slope giving it a private quiet feel. I think that this is best location in all of Idyllwild best because you really get the mountain/alpine feel as a result of the large mature pines & fir trees, rocky mountainous terrain and views of the peaks in the upper Fern Valley Rd area. The location is 5 minutes away from Humber Park trailhead which has some of the best hiking trails in the area and 10 minutes to Idyllwild town center. The house has nice furnishings with a chic mountain design. There was beautiful artwork throughout house. Kitchen appliances were high end and the kitchen was well stocked. Also appreciated the instructions affixed to everything so you can easily operate things like the fireplace and hot tub. Beds were very comfortable and bedding was of high quality. There were 6 of us total, 3 couples, who have been friends for over 25 years. We just wanted to get away for a few nights and hang out together. It was a stunning VRBO - one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. Everything was so modern and up to date, and the house was stocked impeccably well! It was gorgeous - we don't have a single complaint. Thank you for the lovely time. We all agreed we would definitely stay there again if we come back to Idyllwild.

This home matches the photos! Exactly what we wanted to experience during our first visit to Idyllwild. The location allowed us to enjoy views of the old growth trees and the unique boulder terrain of the Idyllwild mountains. All of the deck seating is comfortable and like everything about this home, is in newer, well-kept condition. I have found many VRBOs ignore cleaning the outside furniture, not here. When traveling my first priority is to rest and feel pampered in a spacious, custom home environment. From the minute we arrived at the long covered carport with with its river rock craftsman details, we felt a sense of relief from driving. I have no doubt the well covered parking is excellent ALL year long. The attention to detail at Haven is the hight of hospitality and generosity. Wood is available for the fireplace, spa heated, great real-time communication from the owner and not a mgmt company.This home even had a Sonos sound system. If you already have or you install the app on your phone the mountain serenity immediately kicks into groovy mode from the tunes. Bring lots of food--this home is for hanging out and sharing quality time with family and friends. What was a surprise for us about Idyllwild was the world class hiking, I'd even say a So Cal best kept secret. Only be prepared with proper shoes and a little pre-planning, the terrain will definitely impress. Lastly, all the creature comforts feel fresh, high-quality and definitely comfortable.

Idyllwild is an island in the mountains. An oasis of cool, artsy, outdoor beauty. And Haven is the perfect place to spend time in Idyllwild. The house is open and inviting from the moment you drive up. The living room has a superb fireplace and deck with great views of the mountains and the trees. The upstairs bedrooms are super comfortable and cozy. The hot tub is a dream to relax in before bed. The kitchen is easy and open and contains all anyone could need. The highlight of the stay though were the hosts, John and April. Great communicators and easy to connect to. We didn’t need much though - the house was immaculate. Would love to stay again and hope to return next year.

Fabulous property with everything you need: beautiful design, functional, comforting and great location. The property is extremely well thought out and provisioned. Views of Tahquitz and Suicided Rock are breath-taking. The natural wood spa is wonderful after a long day of climbing. We would definitely stay here again.

Really lovely home that fit our needs pretty perfectly. It's close to hiking trails, has amazing views, and all the comforts of home. With lots of windows it was a little tricky to get blacked out rooms for 2 kids 1 year of age, but we planned ahead. Would definitely stay again!

We were on the search for a 3-night stay to make up for a cancelled trip to Sequoia National Park during the wild fires there. We were so happy to find Haven. It has everything we were looking for: nature-filled scenery, upscale accommodations, EV charger, access to hiking, etc. Communication with the owner was very easy and he had many suggestions and recommendations which we were happy to receive. The house is extremely comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked (including organic spices). The mattresses are very comfortable and we enjoyed the L'Occitane toiletries. I could go on and on but suffice it to say we can highly recommend Haven and we hope to come back in the future!

This is a beautiful house with so many windows in all the right places to drink in the views of the surrounding forest. John was a helpful, responsive and communicative host, thank you for all the Idyllwild tips! Our family enjoyed this luxurious “cabin”; we used all the decks and enjoyed all the little touches included in the decor and furnishings. I even read the apostrophe book :) I would highly recommend this home and we hope to come back another time.

Great house, modern and very up to date! Loved feeling like your in a tree house. Super organized and clean! Need some wine glasses and blinds in downstairs bedroom. John and Dan were easy to work with...class act! Loved the condiments (especially the cooking oil, tea varieties and spices). Felt like we were staying in a hotel with the plush robes...a nice touch that you usually don’t get with rentals! If you are looking for an upscale home in Idyllwild this is the one!
