Great Location! Two golf carts were fantastic! Enjoyed our stay very much!

Mr. Howard was tremendous to work with and made everything so easy. Great property with a beautiful view of #18 on the golf course. Had an absolutely wonderful time. Will certainly recommend this unit to anyone visiting Bald Head.

We recently wrapped up our 7th Annual family vacation to BHI, and we really enjoyed staying at Howard's Haven. The location was possibly the best we have had so far. As a parents of (3) little ones, the walkability (or super quick golf cart ride) to multiple beach accesses and the BHI club can't be beat...and sunset view is much better in person than represented in some of the photos. Pleasantly surprised. Our kids loved seeing the gator swim by in the lagoon each afternoon - safely from the deck. The only downsides were the washer/dryer being located in the bottom floor garage, and the living space being open to the upstairs loft bedroom. Made for late nights with little kids/early nights for mom and dad. Perfect sized house for a family of 4-5. The Tews

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Howard’s Haven! The villa is clean, well stocked and in a perfect location on the island. The owner was great to work with. Thank you!

Very clean and laid out well for 2 bedrooms to have privacy. Kitchen is very very small and equipped as such--could use some basic pans that are not scratched, and a pasta pot. Only view of the ocean is from top-floor lookout with 2 chairs (you can bring chairs upstairs if needed). Neighborhood can get a little noisy if you leave windows open to hear the ocean since you cannot see it from bedroom floor. Watching golfers is fun and relaxing and wildlife was abundant. Overall, since family was congregating at a larger house with a kitchen, this was fine for our purposes but if we were just the nuclear family, would need a little larger kitchen for meal prep.

We came for Thanksgiving, to get away from the city, and from the moment we walked inside, we felt warmth and coziness. It was so peaceful to look out over the lagoon and golf course, and walk to the beach when we wanted. The villa has everything you need. Towels, linens, coffee filters, salt and pepper. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and it was sad to leave that bright, cheerful place.

John is a super host! Excellent communication, responds quickly to questions, easy check in . The views & location are fabulous. Unit is extremely clean with fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms have hairdryers, shampoo and conditioner. Bikes are easy to ride, beach chairs , coolers, etc available. You will definitely enjoy your stay!

We are 2 middle aged couples on the island for a weekend get-away. The Villa is clean and comfortable. The beach access is right across the street. The view outside is the 18 green and the club house. Just what we needed.

This is a great villa for a family or a couple. We had a wonderful stay.

We had a great family vacation in Bald Head. The property is in a great location on the island being very close (and walkable) to both a beach access point and the BHI Club. The golf course views are really nice as well.

Villa had all that we needed! Beach chairs, a few toys, and kitchen basics (coffee filters, salt pepper, condiments). Close access to beach was great. We did not get the guest membership—think it was 350 for the week, and then if my husband played golf, that would’ve been another 190! Since you still need to make a pool reservation for 2 hours at a time, membership not worth it. Luckily, we had great weather so no need for pool. Quick easy communications with owner for any issues. Highly recommend Howard’s Haven.

While the villa is 40 years old, it has been updated. Most of the furnishings are new except the deck furnitures. A few spider webs in the house, otherwise we would give a five star in cleanliness. Understanding that Villa homes are not allow to have charcoal grills, but an electrical grill should be allowed and will be great. The owner was prompt in responding to many little problems. The only real complaint is we have to pay $375 for the privilege to eat at BHI Country Club, but we could not get reservations because Wednesday was only for regular members and we could not get any reservations on other days except one day at 5:15. We should be informed beforehand and it we felt like cheated since there are not many other eateries on the island. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.

We had a wonderful time staying in Howard’s Haven. It is a perfect location to the beach as well as the BHI club.

This property is all you could want on Bald head Island Although the only meal we ate in the villas was breakfast, you could not have wanted for anything . We were more than comfortable and look forward to another visit.

Villa was nice great location. Disappointed that there weren’t many dining options and shops closed very early

Everything was very nice and clean. Easy access to everything on the Island.

Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a fairly Covid safe (low crowds, drivable, outside activities) spring break for our family of 5 and this was perfect. We lucked out with weather which made it even better!PROSThe location was great with its close proximity to BHI club, especially with current situation of swim reservations being limited to 2 hours. My husband very much enjoyed watching the golfers on the 18th hole which was a stones throw away. My kids LOVED that an alligator came several days and sunned itself on the edge of the water where they could watch him. Beach access 13 is a short walk from the house which was also wonderful, especially since there isn’t any public bathroom facilities etc at the beaches The house and kitchen were well equipped with all the necessities which is super helpful considering limited packing space with the ferry and how expensive the market can be. Loved having bikes, beach chairs, sand toys availableThis was our first experience in BHI and we loved it. The golf carts, bikes, nature walks, beaches, old Baldy etc - it was wonderful. CONSNot sure if we read it incorrectly but we were expecting 3 bed 2 1/2 bath, not a loft situation. Having our 7 year old twins in the loft made the rest of us staying up past their bed time very difficult and made it hard for me to get out in the early morning to exercise without waking them. With the bed configurations we really didn’t have any other options. There was an abundance of spider webs, mostly on deck/garage area but also some inside. There was also several dead bugs (gnats?) in the kitchen when I pulled the air fryer out. Not sure if these accumulated after the cleaning? This is no fault of this rental property but after paying the $$ for the BHI club we were disappointed at how difficult/limited pool and dinner reservations were but more importantly dinner take out was cut off most nights we were there. The common theme among restaurants on the island was there was demand beyond available staff and supplies. Perhaps just everyone making adjustments during Covid but meant me having to throw together dinner more nights than I would have liked after paying $450 for the club membership. Also no fault of the rental but south beach had HUGE dredging pipes running the length of the beach and heavy equipment running up and down at times. I would assume this is an off season thing but still a bit of an eye sore.

Great stay. Had a relaxing vacation- plenty of space for all of us at Howard’s Haven. The kids had so much fun riding on the golf cart.

Very convenient

Enjoyed out stay at this charming little condo. The property manager was very easy to communicate with. Kitchen had everything you could think of. The beds were comfortable and location was wonderful. The house comes with two golf carts. One is a little faster with cover so if it rains you can still get around.
