Love the staff who are friendly, especially the reception staff named Auralie.... Really sweet and very helpful girl who also helps within the cafe during breakfast. Breakfast is a set meal that is very complete and sufficient to start your day. Another beauty of this hotel is the location, facing the pier and boats, with the view of NotreDame up on the hill. You can take the petite train, just about 200m walk to the right for the ticketing booth, or take the boat for a cruise with ticketing about 200-300m walk to the left. Lots of restaurants and cafes lining the whole stretch of the pier.

Climbing the stairs to reception with our luggage and the room was extremely warm as the air conditioner is controlled centrally and not possible to make it cooler. It was also very noisy outside if you opened the windows.

Sometimes there was a smell in the bathroom. Temperature of the room can't be controlled in the room but you need to ask the person at the front desk to adjust the temperature

Staff not friendly or helpful. Phone in room not working, so in order to contact reception we had to get up and get dressed and go downstairs. Aircon/heating impossible to regulate; room unbearably hot, thus very bad night's sleep. We asked twice for the temperature in the room to be reduced and were assured that the necessary steps would be taken, but nothing, nothing ... Entrance to hotel tired-looking and dingy. Bad smell in bathroom. Massively over-priced. We were very disappointed.

The location and view from the rooms were wonderful, right on the Old Port. The staff were very responsive and helpful. Rooms were modern and very clean. The hotel bar had a great view.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was not good enough or simply wasn’t working properly when we were there. We weren’t able to get the room temperature below 24 degrees. The staff tried very hard to help, by re-setting it for us, however it didn’t get any better during the night (we only stayed the one night).

The room was located directly above a bar, where live music was playing till midnight. The bar itself was actually very nice (we had visited it earlier in the evening). It was also impossible to alter the heat/air conditioning settings in the room - the control panel was locked, something we only discovered at night (we only stayed one night). We therefore had to open the window, which meant allowing the noise from outside in. Also, the coffee at breakfast was absolutely vile - completely undrinkable.

The staff was extremely helpfull. Even in one of their busiest moment, they gave us their valuable time and guided us through the system and detect our suitcase we forgot in the train. Location perfect, room comfortable and clean.

The ventilation in the vommunal spaces could be better.

I was upgraded and had a lovely room with a great view of the port. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. It is also very near the centre of the town, so very convenient. Breakfast was adequate. The staff were very pleasant, and I was helped down the stairs with my suitcase when I left.

I had read in the booking confirmation that there was dinner available for 20 euro, but when asked at the hotel I was told it was only tapas. However, the bar area/restaurant was always crowded in the evening and no tables available on both nights I was there. Neither was I able to reserve. This was disappointing.

We didn't have hot water, we couldn't take a shower and the parking was paid, so it shouldn't appear in the description as being one of the facilities of the hotel...

no where to even hang my jacket, not even a hook, coat hangers available but no rail. it had obviously broken and just not been fixed. I had to use the curtain rail to at least hang up my jacket if this had not been the case the hotel would have got a straight 10

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Belle-Vue. It is in the center of things and the staff were very friendly especially Daneshe. Has a great bar serving tapas food with excellent jazz one night. Transport is right outside with the #60 bus taking you right to the top hill of the Bassilica that you can view across the port from the hotel. Spend a little extra to book a room with a front view stayed in room #24 that had a side and front view of the port.

Reception is on the 1st floor but don't let that put you off.
