One of the prettiest places we’ve stayed at Bernard’s Landing. Everything we needed was there. Clean and beautiful. Hope to return to Moon Dance.

Very updated place with great views of the water, nice deck area. Owner has all that you could ever use there.

The property was lovely; expectations were met in comparison to the listing. Many items within the home were higher quality than a traditional VRBO which was very nice. Only concern was very little space for guest belongings. Location was excellent; view from balcony was beautiful. Many community amenities. Thank you for the opportunity!

We have been wanting to visit Smith Mountain Lake for awhile. It is beautiful! The condo was perfect with an amazing view, clean, cozy and felt like home! Though we just communicated online, Kathleen was very personable and on top of everything. We will definitely be visiting again!

Property is even more beautiful in person than I anticipated. The views of the lake and mountains are stunning. Condo is decorated very nice and everything you could need to feel right at home is provided. We loved our getaway and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!!

Great get a way to SML. Condo had everything we needed and more. Enjoyed a day on the lake and relaxing evenings playing games with the family and friends in the area. Would rent again.

We have stayed numerous times @ Bernard’s Landing, & this was our first negative experience. The condo itself is beautifully decorated & furnished, but we had a host of problems that dampened our enjoyment. We checked in Thursday April 6th 2023. We were unable to enjoy the beauty of the lake from our deck due to huge aggressive carpenter bees. I notified the owner, and she said that an exterminator would arrive soon…as of Sunday April 9th, no exterminator had ever shown up. Thursday night, we discovered that the bathroom sink was @ least 95% clogged. We shared this information with the owner on Friday, but she never responded concerning the sink. Saturday April 8th, we lost power @ 11am, & it didn’t come back on until 8 pm. It was cold & uncomfortable in the condo, so we had to make arrangements to be away to stay warm. The owner did warn us that the main entrance door was sticking which made it difficult to open. We didn’t realize just how difficult it was to enter & exit until we checked in…this problem also needs to be addressed. Overall we believe that this condo did not meet our livable standards.

First time at SML and loved the location and the property. It was beautifully decorated and the lake of the view was incredible. I definitely will be back.

This SML condo was very clean with everything you need for an amazing get a way. I’ll certainly rent this one again.

Had a great time, loved the condo! The lake is close enough to make the walk down to it easy enough. Enjoyed the proximity to the water! The towels were amazing!

The condo is very clean, beautifully decorated and every need has obviously been well thought out and addressed. We have stayed at quite a few Bernard’s Landing condos, and this is, without a doubt, the most beautiful and comfortable. Feels like home!

We booked a stay from Wednesday until Sunday and by Thursday night we had had enough and hit the road. We checked in Wednesday and within 30 minutes of us getting our luggage inside we get a knock on the door. We were currently changing to go check out the pools and when we looked into the living room a lady had entered the unit stating she left a key to another condo and wanted to find it. Mind you we were changing to go to the pool. She did not find the key and left. What a way to start the trip. When we brought this issue up to the host when we had issues later on with her unit it took numerous emails to get her to respond to the issue of someone entering the property without occupant approval. She finally wrote back saying she thought there was nothing wrong with it this, the cleaner assumed we would not there so of course it was okay to just enter with their own code. Totally unacceptable, the cleaner should have contacted the host and the host should have made sure it was okay. We start to tour Bernard’s Landing and the resort is not as described. The pool by the conference center is in dire need of repairs. The tiles are dirty, the decking is warped and uneven, there are cracks in the concrete, I could go on and on. The listing says there is an indoor heated pool. The indoor pool is not heated, we saw another couple who were shocked at how cold the water was and stated there was no way they could swim in this pool, we agreed. The indoor hot tub looks filthy, the tiles look so grimy you will feel disgusted when you get out. The resort says there is an outdoor hot tub there is not an outdoor hot tub. The resort says there is a sauna however the sign posted on the door said the sauna had not been working for some time. The tiles on the pool by the clubhouse have black stuff growing on them, this pool needs a thorough cleaning as well. Wednesday night we tossed and turned, the bed is uncomfortable/squeaks and the unit’s A/C cannot properly cool the unit, it struggles. There is so much humidity inside the unit it feels as if you are in the rain forest. Thursday We get back to the unit and want to shower the drain is clogged. There is black stuff coming out of the drain and we didn’t want to shower standing in that mess. We reach out to the owner and tell her about the drain clog she tells us she is sending a plumber out asap. ASAP to her means the next day, we asked for an eta she took forever to respond. (more to say but vrbo limits)

The Moondance unit was very clean, beautifully decorated and nicely appointed with little extras throughout the unit that were very much appreciated from the scented pillow spray to the provided coffee pods. Communication with our host Kathleen was impressive. We very much enjoyed our short, relaxing getaway. Will be back to SML for sure. Thank you Kathleen!

We have stayed in several VRBO properties over the years, in various locations, & Moondance is definitely one of our favorites! The location provided spectacular lake views & the direct access to the lake for swimming, water activities, & boat access were perfect. Moondance has been styled impeccably with perfect furnishings & accents- the owner has done an amazing job transforming a 1 bedroom condo into a stunning vacation oasis. The vaulted ceilings in all rooms make it feel very open & spacious and the many doors & windows bring plenty of natural light. It is perfectly decorated with beach/lake themed accents & high quality furnishings while maintaining a cozy feel that is welcoming. So many thoughtful little touches make it extra special. We especially enjoyed the 3rd floor deck with comfortable outdoor furnishings & grill. We would definitely stay at Moondance again!

This condo was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was beautifully decorated, and had everything we could possibly need for a wonderful stay. The views were amazing, and the deck was our favorite feature. This was our first trip to SML, and we loved it.

The view is the best I’ve seen since my trip to New Zealand. The condo was clean, and just as pictured online. The manager was very helpful, and we had a great time!

I loved my week at Moon Dance! What a hospitable place to escape for a week and enjoy the beauty of SML. The bed and sofa are comfortable, nice linens, and a host who’ll answer all your questions. Perfect!!

Comfortable, well-decorated, and easy access to lake amenities.

The condo at Smith Mountain Lake is beautifully decorated and had everything we could possibly need. Kathleen thought of everything. The deck had great furniture and amazing views of the lake and mountains. The furniture and king size bed were comfortable and we appreciated being able to do our laundry. This lake is amazing! We didn’t want to leave and would highly recommend!

My husband and I were there for the Fourth of July weekend and had a wonderful time. The condo was beautifully decorated, very clean, everything looked brand new. Easy check in, great fireworks on the lake! A+++

The property was clean, bright, and had everything we needed. We greatly enjoyed the view of the mountains and lake from the deck. It was a very nice spot for our short getaway.

We stayed at Moondance September 25-28, 2021 on our first visit to Smith Mountain Lake. Moondance is a beautiful one bedroom condo with nice views of the lake and surrounding grounds. The condo is clean, well maintained and nicely appointed with a lakeside motif. The kitchen has everything a couple could need for a three day getaway. We took advantage of the large deck for afternoon reading and evening stargazing. The host Kathleen was responsive and interested in ensuring that we enjoyed our stay. We recommend Moondance as an A++ SML condo.
