I`m very frustrated by "hotel" I notified the hotel twice that I would arrive late for check-in, but did not receive a response. when I arrived at the hotel, it turned out that the staff had gone home and I could not check in. That is, they knew that they had a reservation for that day, but they didn't even try to contact me in any way. I had to look for another hotel to accommodate. I checked into Scandic Rubinen, as it turned out to be the closest. in addition to above, I have a physical problem to speak and calling was not applicable for me.

I was both visiting the university and taking some tours of the town and this was an ideal location. Budget friendly, with my own bathroom; I felt comfortable as a solo female traveler. Very simple rooms but there was a desk for working (and free Wi-Fi) and the bed was comfortable enough. The breakfast included was really good with a good classic Swedish selection of cold meats, cheeses as well as cereal and hot options (Tea, coffee ect as well). There was also a coded entrance and a simple pick up and drop off check in.

I did encounter some silverfish insects in the property, notably once when I sat down for breakfast to find one on the table in front of me. There were also very few members of staff around however they were contactable and attentive to messages on booking.com and in via text.

The rooms are very basic and a quite outdated. For example my shower was leaking and the head could not be fixated. Breakfast at the bakery cafe was supposed to be available from 7am, but this was often not the case

The shared bathroom, the shared toilette, the amount of noise coming from both the street and the corridor, the cleanliness, the smell, the quality of the bed, no iron for my shirts. All the basics you would expect from a hotel were not met. Never been to a worst value for money hotel.

+ bed was comfortable! And I am picky with my beds + excellent location, 15 minutes walk from Ullevi stadion which was our main attraction

Elevator covered in damp smelling carpet, that probably havent dried properly in many years. Side street that felt a bit sketchy in dailight, luckily we met other people going same direction late evening. Breakfast very basic, (but it fills the dark hole in your tummy in the morning). Showerhead fell off (!!) when shower was started, and didnt screw back on. Recepetion closed so couldnt get any help with this in evening. Bedside lamp fixture hanging off the wall. Morning after i tried to inform the staff about these irregularities but reception was closed even if it said it should have been open. Went down to breakfast area to tried to inform them, I just hope they fixed it before the next guest checked in. All in all, high price for what we got, but I guess they charge plenty for the central location

The room wasn't ready upon check-in time

It’s located at city center, everything is 5min walking away. The street was super empty, literally no noise or any problems. The breakfast was regular, full continental meal, great value for the money. Clean but a bit smaller room, which we didn’t mind as we were all the time in the city, you only need bed and shower in the room anyway.

Reception was mostly closed, we were communicating over the phone with the guy working there, which was still ok.
