Our family had a wonderful time at Squirrel Lodge. The home was beautiful & had everything we needed. Lots of memories were made at the lake, fishing & Del Grosso amusement & water park. This is the kind of place where you can take advantage of the outdoors in a beautiful rural setting or act like you’re on a space station and entertain yourself for days without ever leaving the house.

This was my 3rd time staying at a vrbo property and it was by far the best one yet!! From the towel warmer in the guest bedroom, to the jukebox in the finished basement to the espresso/cappuccino/latte machine at the coffee bar to the well stocked firewood at the firepit where we had a fire every night. It was spectacular and you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful home, many amenities to satisfy varying ages as well as kitchen, fire pit, and bathroom accessories that we didn't have to worry about packing. We especially enjoyed the large dining table, deck, and fire pit. And the showers are gorgeous! Just know that if you have young children, you will want to childproof the living room. We set the beautiful cameras up and placed them back again when ready to leave - also the gorgeous wood furniture we had to be extra careful with the kiddos around - but it was doable. We liked it so much we plan to return. Lincoln Caverns and Delgrosso's Amusement Park were great places to explore, about 15-30 minutes away. Thank you, Dan and Heidi

What an amazing place! We had a great time.

This was our second consecutive year for renting the Flying Squirrel Lodge for our family vacation and it again provided a wonderful vacation for our family. The owners of the lodge are very easy to work with and are likewise very accommodating if you have any questions. The property itself is exquisite (both inside and out!) and provides some unique amenities covering everyone's taste. We also personally appreciate the privacy/serenity of the location. I believe one of our grandchildren summed it up best when they found out that we were returning to the FSL for vacation again this year..."it feels like we are going back home"! We would highly recommend the FSL for any family vacation.

We stayed at The Flying Squirrel Lodge for a Middle School Basketball Championship at State College. There were a group of us; including the children, teens and adults. Everyone LOVED the lodge for many different reasons: Adults: -CLEAN x100, there was no window sill dust, no yucky feeling when you pulled out the trash, no gross feeling around the beds…this place was immaculate! -The bedding was Brooklinen (which is high end/top of the line/$$$ bedding -The Coffee Bar was STOCKED, multiple brewers, all the accessories one may need etc. -The pellet stove was such a beautiful lodge touch that made everyone feel at home -Ice makers in the kitchen and the bar -Paper plates and cups and napkins and garbage bags and laundry soaps and bath towels and dishwasher pods and paper towels…all included -A complimentary tote bag, 2 bags of coffee, a mug and a bottle of wine!!! All W/ the Flying Squirrel Logo, so cute. Thank you! -Did I mention the place was super clean?!? Teens: -The loft- like their very own private quarters with a TV -Cornhole boards -Lots of space to lounge and find privacy Kids: -Loved the bunk room! -Loved the game room!! -Loved reading the guest book!!! It was just an absolutely great place! 40 min drive to campus—-5 minutes to a mini mart/gas station, 5 minutes to a Dollar General, local pizza place (Paisanos) delivered to us… Owners replied quickly and kindly when we asked any questions…. 100% recommend -you won’t be disappointed -xoxo From Pittsburgh :)

Our yearly family vacation was held at Flying Squirrel Lodge, a wonderful place to stay! The lodge was immaculate, with many amenities. The coffee bar was a big hit, as was the jukebox. The fire pit was used nightly. After full days at Raystown Lake (only 25 min. away), the specialty shampoo, conditioner, & soap in the large walk-in showers were a luxury. The babies really enjoyed the deep bathtub. Our family highly recommends FSL!

Our family stayed at the Flying Squirrel Lodge last year and loved it so much that we came back again this year too! Heidi and Dan are such fantastic hosts and they take such great care to make sure that their guests have an outstanding time while at the FSL! From the moment you arrive, this house has something for everyone - a gaming room for the kids, a full-on coffee bar for the grown ups and a wet bar for in the evenings too! Close to great gravel bike trails and also several state parks with hiking and other outdoor activities, the FSL does not disappoint! We are already searching our calendars to coordinate our next family get-together at the FSL!

We have been vacationing as a family for 36 years now. Our children commented at the end of our vacation week at this property, that this may have been the best family vacation that we have ever had. The property itself is exquisite. We really enjoyed the seclusion/privacy of the property while still being close enough to town to run for food, groceries and supplies. The inside of the cottage offers more amenities than you can utilize in one weeks' time and truly offers something for everyone. The inside of the cottage is also very spacious and welcoming as well. The deck area outside comfortably accommodated our group of nine with plenty of space to spare and offers a wonderful area to just relax and soak up the sun. Our hosts, Dan and Heidi, were both a pleasure and very accommodating to work with as well. We would highly recommend this property for your family vacation and hope that we may return soon as well! Heidi and Dan truly have thought of everything you might need or want while staying in their gorgeous cabin. Even though the weather was rainy nearly the whole weekend that we stayed, our trip was still a delight! There were plenty of board games to keep us busy; the kids (and adults!) loved the arcade games; sitting by the warmth of pellet stove was lovely; and the kitchen table -- we all fit with room to spare! As a family of artists and photographers, we found the wall decor a particular delight! Everything about the accommodations was simply perfect. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us!

House was amazing and very clean. Very roomy and was stocked with amenities. No need to go anywhere. The whole group was able to eat at the same time. Can't wait to go back.

This house was beautiful! Everything was completely stocked and in wonderful condition. The hosts were so helpful with their messages about what to do and where to find things. Stores and the Marina are close! If you go to Raystown this is the house to stay in!

This place is amazing! It will take your breath away the minute you step inside. Heidi & Dan thought of everything to make your stay pleasant. It was clean & beautiful. We enjoyed the lovely woodwork & photography throughout the house- what talent! The coffee bar was a big hit & spoiled us. There was great competition in the game room. My husband got tired of me saying “ I want a place just like this”! Dan & Heidi were exceptional hosts. They made parparing for the trip & our stay stress free! We highly recommend this lovely place- it won’t disappoint! Didn’t want to go but Looking forward to our next trip here.

Our family had the privilege of staying at The Flying Squirrel Lodge to celebrate my father-in-laws 75th birthday this past weekend. Check in was a breeze and Dan Berg gave us a phenomenal overview of the property when we arrived. The FSL was fully stocked with outstanding amenities like a full coffee bar, Weber gas grill with extra propane, fire pit with wood and kindling, game room with PS4 and a multi-cade arcade system (a huge hit with the kiddos!!!). The property was immaculate from top to bottom. Would definitely love to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat with plenty to do.

This property is beautiful and new. The finishes are great, the rooms and sleeping setups are spacious and comfortable - it was a fantastic find for our big family stay. The amenities are wonderful (coffee bar and game room/rock and roll bar in particular). The owners were also extremely responsive and it was evident they take pride in the property and want their guests to have enjoyable stays. We would definitely like to come back and stay again soon!

The hosts were truly wonderful and their home is stunning! It really had all that we needed and more. Our adult children loved the coffee bar, and our grandchildren loved playing the games. We were a short distance to Raystown Lake where we enjoyed some hiking and the water. Each morning we were entertained by the squirrels trying to eat from the bird feeders and had a visit by a doe on the hill. After our time at the lake playing corn hole was a must,, and a campfire with smores ended out our day. Really just a relaxing place to enjoy our time together! We'd love to come back again sometime! We had a great time at the Flying Squirrel Lodge for a group getaway. The place was kid and adult friendly with lots of activities (arcade machine, playstation, TV in every room, board games, etc.) and had a fully stocked kitchen with everything we could think of. The location was very convenient - secluded enough to have the kids scream and run around as they pleased but also close enough to shops and Raystown Lake for any quick needs and outdoor activities. Dan and Heidi were wonderful as hosts and were very attentive to our needs (which was not much as the place had what we needed already). The lodge itself was spacious to host three families and had a great patio and a firepit where we spent quite a bit of time. In all, we were very happy with our stay and the kids didn't want to leave! Thanks to Dan and Heidi for making this stay a memorable one for us. We hope to come back here again!

We had a great time. The place was stocked with amenities, more than I've ever experienced. The coffee situation alone was insane. The beds were super comfortable. The hosts were very responsive. The location is quite remote, but within 15 minutes of grocery shopping, etc., just be aware that the internet is not great and it is capped, so don’t plan on streaming movies for kids, etc. (just bring DVDs, downloads, etc.) Highly recommended.

This was the BEST rental experience we've had for a long time. The property is absolutely beautiful inside and out. We had ten adults and had more than enough room to gather and socialize on the gorgeous deck, in the great room, by the fire pit, and in the really FUN game room and downstairs bar area. When we wanted privacy, each bedroom was appointed with its own big screen TV. The custom woodwork throughout is the cherry on top of a fabulous property. We can't say enough about the owners Dan and Heidi! They were so warm and welcoming. Their communications with us after we made the reservation made us feel like family before we even arrived. They met us at the house when we checked in and gave us a tour. Their pride in ownership and their passion about sharing it with others was infectious. It is clear they have put their heart and soul into this property! It is very reasonably priced and its proximity to the Lake Raystown area and State College made it a perfect location for all of us to easily come together. All of us said we would gladly come back again. A five-star experience to be sure!

Wonderful, newly renovated house with nearly every creature comfort you could possibly need. The owners, Heidi and Dan, were very easy to communicate with and they took every step to ensure that we had what we needed for our stay. Would book again without hesitation!

Our family had a small reunion here. We had planned on spending time at the lake but it ended up raining all weekend. The house had so much to do we didn't even mind not leaving. Something for everyone and top of the line accommodations. Clean, comfy and beautiful!

The Flying Squirrel Lodge was one of the best renting experiences we’ve encountered. The lodge is immaculate, every room has high-end finishes and we were blown away by the beauty of the lodge. The walls are covered in breathtaking nature photographs taken by the owners. Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze, it was fully stocked with everything we needed. We spent one evening relaxing out at the fire pit enjoying the peacefulness of seclusion. The coffee bar was also a fun treat each morning and afternoon. Everyone in our group loved the Flying Squirrel Lodge and fully intend on renting again. The owners, Dan and Heidi, are phenomenal hosts. We felt they truly wanted to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable, which it certainly was. Our only regret was not staying longer!
