Andy and Carol are fantastic hosts. So friendly and informative about the area. Room was very, clean, comfortable and lots of extra nice little touches. Spectacular view from our room. Breakfast was excellent - high quality ingredients and cooked lovely.

My stay at Balcarres was perfectly comfortable and peaceful and meeting Carole and Andy made my trip very special. They are lovely people living their dream! Thank you for your hospitality! The view of the loch from my window was simply spectacular! Breakfast highlights were the yummy scrambled eggs and rainbow fruit salad.

Honestly, nothing. It was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts were generous and tasty, and they offered a good range of choices.

Excellent breakfast - choice, quantity and service. Owners were kind, accommodating and provided plenty of local knowledge and advice. The room was comfortable and had a great view across the loch.

Nothing major, but it's a bit of a hike from town if you're laden with luggage.

Fantastic place in quiet locationof the town with beautiful view. Both Andy and Carol have been amazing hosts. Definitely we will be staying at Balcarres B&B in the future. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏

Andy and Carole were absolutely superb hosts, it was like staying with friends! They pretty much helped us plan our whole trip, day by day - giving us reccomendations and directions. Our room was so cosy and comfortable it was lovely getting snuggled up after a day out exploring. The bathroom had been renovated 3 weeks prior to our arrival and was finished to a very high standard. And the breakfast - wow - out of this world! The views from the front of the accommodation are absolutely breathtaking. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return!

City rooms Friendly hosts Lovely view from breakfast room

The owners were very friendly, went over and above - e.g. the temperature was 30 degrees in July and we had had trouble sleeping , my husband just happened to say it was due to the heat and they went and bought fans for each of the rooms. They were lovely people, had lots of recommendations for activities and food etc.

The only down point was thay it was atleast a 20min flat walk to town centre, but the weather was amazing so didn't bother us.

Gravel drive for the Motorbike, manageable but not as easy as flat tarmac!

The place was very clean, very cosy, shower was very good, breakfast was great. The views outside were unbelievable and so beautiful. Very dog friendly also. Andy and Carole were the most loveliest of hosts and couldn’t be more helpful. But I also have to say that they went much more beyond being great hosts when they, on a wet and dreary morning, took us on a sight seeing tour of the mountains and gift shop. These are very beautiful people. Thank you so so much xxxx

Lovely couple, working hard to welcome guests into their home..breakfast was lovely, good produce, well cooked. Suggestions made for where to visit and eat. Very friendly couple, pleasure to meet them.

Some updating required, but recently taken over and work is planned.

Lovely host, fab breakfast

Carol and Andy were so friendly with a great sense of fun and humour, nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was really good. The location is perfect. The views are stunning, the bedroom are very nice. There is a very comfortable guest sitting room which we used everyday. We would definitely stay there again.
