Not only was the house well suited to our family, but also the mountain view, snow play in the yard, and wildlife awesome.
Several times we even walked to the town square through the snow covered streets which reminded us of visiting Austria.
It was very evident that the hosts take care in making guests stay great, and we look forward to returning.

The house was absolutely perfect for my family’s Thanksgiving break! We were there for a whole week and made a huge thanksgiving meal! House has everything you need. Views were breathtaking. Wood burning stove warms the house great. We will definitely be booking again.

The cabin really was in one of the best locations in the village. The view can’t be beat. We walked to town every day via the path in the back of the cabin. There is also a driveway, whereas most other cabins on the street do not have that luxury.
The only thing I’d recommend is that the hosts replace some of the fans. There are a few that just don’t blow well…so the cabin rooms did get very warm. The loft room was always too hot to use. I’m sure this is a rare occurrence as it’s not typically over 80 degrees (like it was this week).
I’d love to come back in the colder months, because I bet the temp is awesome. We would love to visit Cloudcroft again, and would book this cabin in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Our stay at Black Bear Cabin in Cloudcroft was just what the doctor ordered after 8 days of cross country travel (moving). The sunset views each evening were stunning and the location was ideal for walking to golf or grab sweet treats in Cloudcroft.

This was a lovely property for our family of four, but could have easily added another couple. Lots of space and comfortable beds. The location is perfect and close to town, but also far enough away that you feel secluded. Bring a few extra cooking supplies, if you’re planning on mostly cooking meals yourself and be prepared to do your dishes or bring some paper goods. All rooms have little electric wall heaters that work well. Part of the house gets pretty cold in the winter mornings, but the wood burning stove is lovely, if you can get it going. Consider bringing your own kindling/paper, if you plan to. Lots of extra firewood provided though. No doubt, we will enjoy checking it out in the summer as well!

We stayed 3 nights with one toddler and 4 adults. The shared space in this cabin is wonderful - big dining table and nice kitchen for family meals. Nice area to hang out and some games keeping us entertained. The master is also wonderful and the upstairs single worked well for my mom, would be great for a tween or teen also. The downstairs room was a little cramped for the two adults and one kiddo but I think it would work great for just kids especially or just a couple. The hot water had a little trouble keeping up with full baths for a toddler but worked fine for staggered showers. It was rainy all weekend and we were so happy to have this lovely spot that was warm and comfy in between our short excursions!

This is a nice property with beautiful views from the deck and through the windows. Easy to get to and close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay!

This is a great, very clean cabin for a family! The open area is very spacious for everyone to gather. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal! The very best part of this cabin is the deck! The views are amazing and the afternoon sun hits it perfectly! This cabin exceeded all our expectations!

Beautiful and cozy cabin!
My family of 4 and I were fortunate enough to spend two wonderful nights at this awesome little cabin. Although we were busy with with prior arrangements and didn’t get to spend too much time during the days there, our evenings were amazing.
Communication with the owners was top notch prior to check-in and there was no need afterward. The check-in process couldn’t have been easier.
We will definitely be booking again in the near future, when we can spend more time enjoying the cabin as a whole.
We thank the owners for the opportunity to stay at such an awesome place!

Home away from home
All you need in a home is here. Location is perfect. View is fantastic. We were able to cook our dishes with ease. The beds are comfy. Everything is clean. I'd recommend this place to friends and family.

We loved our family Christmas in Black Bear cabin! Our son is stationed at Holloman, so this was a great time together! Beautiful views, cozy & clean. We love Cloudcroft and all the fun outings in and around this cute town. Can’t wait to be back, thank you for opening your home with us.

The cabin felt secluded with great open views of the canyon out the back window and off the deck.
The cabin was close enough to town that we made several trips to the coffee shops and bakery. We also took a side trip to Bluff Springs to see a beautiful waterfall that was surrounded by icicles and snow.
This was a perfect place to relax and spend time together as a family. We are definitely planning to return in the future.

Cute cozy cabin
We loved this little cabin! It was perfect for our young family. Very kid friendly! It feels rustic but still feels very clean. I didn’t realize that there wasn’t central heating before we arrived and was worried when I saw the wood burning fireplace and baseboard heaters. But they both actually worked so well! It was fun! And we were so cozy. Kitchen isn’t stocked very well. Like No measuring cups except a 1/4 cup. And our door code didn’t work when we arrived. We had to contact property managers and wait outside while they got us a backup code. They luckily were pretty quick about it. Also the internet wasn’t great. Not fast enough to stream anything. For those reasons I gave it 4 stars. But really overall we loved it and were very happy while we were there!

Relaxing Getaway
Black Bear Cabin was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Cloudcroft is very close to Alamogordo and Ruidoso, so we were able to take day trips and return to the cabin at night. The cabin is in an excellent location, and outside of the city lights. The patio was my favorite place to drink morning and evening coffee. Whether you want to visit the surrounding cities, or just have a nice stay in the cabin, Black Bear Cabin is the place to be! The owners kept in contact and were very helpful with any and all questions I had. I can’t wait to visit again soon!

Wonderful cabin on the hill
My family of 6 (two 6 year olds and two 1.5 year olds) had a fantastic time staying here while we visited Cloudcroft and White Sands from Dallas, TX. The older kids LOVED the loft as their own private space. Very peaceful area with a few local shops and restaurants that fulfilled our needs and only 30 minutes from Alamogordo if we needed other restaurants/groceries. We've already referred a few friends to the cabin and look forward to staying again. Thanks Anne and Luke!

Gaze up at the stars that seem so close you could touch them and watch the distant lightening by the mountains. INCREDIBLE! Beautiful cabin and in a great location. It was so quiet and calm we could hear the crows wings flap when they went overhead. Sad that the Brewery was closed for a week while we were there, but we enjoyed coffee and treats every day at Kennabelle's bakery. Excellent sour dough bread as well! Cloudcroft is a cute, fun town! Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us! We would definitely recommend!

Loved our 5 days in this cabin . Able to walk to village but still felt in the countryside. Great comfy patio furniture which we enjoyed using after a morning hike. Perfect views. Comfy bed. Handy Cloudcroft golf course just up the road. What more do you need?

We had four adults and three children on our trip, and we had more than enough area inside and outside to enjoy. There were plenty of board games, puzzles and books to enjoy. The house location was close to everything. The home was clean, nicely decorated and well furnished with accessories. So easy to book and gain access to property. Enjoyed that it had drive thru parking. Will stay there again.
