The location was convenient and the staff very friendly. The decor of the room was nice. The convenience of having a bar and restaurant was a positive factor, as well as being able to park out the front.

It was not clear on the website that the rooms did not have an ensuite- only shared bathroom facilities were available. There was only one PowerPoint in the room with many leads attached. There was a glass panel above the door which let in light every time someone used the bathroom or toilet opposite the room, so we were woken frequently throughout the night.

Great location on the Main Street. For me it was to break up the travel distance from Melbourne to Adelaide to get a head start. very friendly staff and ideal with a classy intimate Bar and dining options downstairs so you don’t have to go anywhere else.

to be picky I found the bed a bit soft. Shared bathrooms / toilets were very adequate, clean and served the purpose well.

This is a friendly, great value hotel to stay at right in the main Street of Ararat. Clean, well presented room with convenient access. Bistro menu offered a good selection and breakfasts were freshly cooked to order. we enjoyed talking to the friendly staff and plenty of locals enjoying the Barkly.

Shared facilities but it was ok as it was budget accommodation and there was limited accommodation available. An event had booked out most places.

Rob was a great host, he was both interested and interesting to have a chat with. He came across as very unflappable. The hotel bar, room and facilities were all very clean.

Absolutely amazing 💯. Loves this place. Owners and staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. The food was amazing from dinner to the breakfast! Fabulous atmosphere in the bar for drinks. Ever so friendly. Will definitely be back. Can not recommend this place highly enough 👍 Thank you so much for your kind hospitality.
