Welcome to the Historic Bywater Cottage at 3149 Chartres Street! This charming Victorian guest house, built in 1892, offers 1,200 sq ft of cozy comfort with modern amenities. Our two-bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 4, with room for up to 6 adults. Relax on the bayou-style porch, surrounded by our charming courtyard and gardens. Next, explore the best New Orleans neighborhoods by stepping out into the vibrant Bywater, Faubourg Marigny, and the French Quarter discovering local dining, music, and art in the heart of it all!  With off-street parking and an inspiring remote work setup, this is your perfect New Orleans getaway!

The mystic of this true historic gem, lovingly restored in its Southern charm with modern comforts, offers an unforgettable experience for guests. Nestled behind a garden gate, the quaint cottage is the perfect place for a cozy escape and near minutes from Bourbon Street shenanigans. 

As you approach the cottage, the bayou-style porch welcomes you, featuring a 125-year-old pew and inviting southern rockers—a perfect spot to sip morning coffee while taking in the quiet hum of the neighborhood. Step inside to find high ceilings and original hardwood floors that echo the elegance of its 1892 Victorian roots. Every corner of this guest house tells a story; from the antique furnishings to the unique pieces sourced from movie sets, including “Interview With a Vampire” and the holiday classic “Angels Sing” starring Harry Connick Jr. and Willie Nelson.

The property sits on the estate of the original H.H. Slawson Plantation, where the former stables, Smitty house, and carriage grounds have transformed into lush gardens and pavilion areas. These serene outdoor spaces are perfect for leisurely afternoons with a book, evening gatherings, or even a unique remote office setup.
