The owners were very friendly & the breakfasts were very good. Our suite on the third floor was quiet & well-equipped. We also enjoyed having safe private parking.

The stairs to the third floor were difficult to manage with luggage.

We had a lovely stay at La Grand Carrée! The pool was so refreshing after two hot days spent exploring the nearby region. We loved the traditional French breakfast too.

Beautiful mansion very close to the centre of Tours and by the river. Hosts are amazing and the place is gorgeous, very relaxing. Perfect place for city break and explore La Loire.

Beautiful period house 25 mins walk out of town ) 10 min via tram . clearly a lot of time and huge effort has gone into restoring the house . some amazing antiques All the rooms are high quality , breakfast superb and the owners Stephane and Sophie super friendly and helpful. secure parking . planning to stay again next year on our way through France or holiday in Loire .

This is our third time here and yet again it was a fabulous stay. We had a large group of eight this time and were met with a fire in the living room and pots of tea to warm us up on a very wet chilly day. Superb!

This is a stunning property, beautifully renovated to a very high standard. The breakfast was fantastic. The location perfect with private parking and a 2 minute walk to the tram which was only a few stops into central Tours. Most noticeably the hosts could not be more helpful and friendly. (For English speakers they also speak perfect English). It was a pleasure to meet them and stay in their beautiful house.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. This place will only get better as the owners continue improvements such as to the grounds.

Amazing building and very friendly hosts. Silver the lab was loved by all and especially our grandsons. Rooms were lovely. We were treating it as a stopover during our return trip from Aquitaine to the Channel Tunnel and had planned to arrive early enough to view the town and use the lovely pool but unfortunately heavy traffic meant we only arrived at about 8pm so we only had time to pop into town for dinner. The town centre was just 3 tram stops away and was very very easy.

Bit pricey for what it was. Breakfast was very nice but a little sweet for our taste.

The owners couldn’t do enough for you. Unique experience. Great pool and amazing location to visit all the castles . Breakfast perfect , internet speed great, very clean and spacious rooms decorated with a lot of care . Definitely we will return

Breakfast was very good, as was the evening meal. the building has been and still is being beautifully renovated. The parking was secure and perfect for our classic car. The husband and wife team were very pleasant.

luckily we were able to eat there but otherwise it requires a tram ride to get into town and all the restaurants. Fine if you are there to visit Tours, not ideal if like us you are just overnighting on a longer trip.

We arrived late and only stayed for 1 night, but everything was perfect! the room was very clean and cosy, the bathroom modern and spacious. I think we got an upgraded our room as it wasn't too busy when we where visiting (thank you!). Owners very polite & friendly. The breakfast table was just wow :) Best breakfast we had during our 2 weeks in France. We did not try the pool but it looked lovely.

Everything was fine for us! We could hear other guests in the corridor coming/going , but I wouldn't expect this type of hotel to be soundproof anyway, so it wasn't an issue for us.

This has got to be one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. We stayed 6 nights using it as a base to tour the Loire valley. Rooms are very well furnished and are very quiet. The heated pool is a bonus and the large garden is surrounded by mature trees making it a real oasis. Lovely breakfast with a selection of cereals, fruits, breads, pastries, honey and jams. It is a nice walk or short tram ride into Tours centre. Sophie and Stephane could not have done more to make our stay more pleasant. They are very obliging, made us feel very welcome and helped with choosing restaurants and with tourist information. Sophie can provide a lovely dinner, which matches the outside restaurants, in the dining room at 24hrs notice.

pool needed to be cleaned when we arrived no outside pool shower. meaning a long walk back up to your eaves bedroom no spare toilet roll in bathroom I book hotels based upon using the swimming pool it is my No 1 criteria
