I had a fever on the first night stay, so the next morning myself and my partner went and tested for COVID. I tested postive on a rapid test therefore by the law we had to drive home that day to isolate and get a PCR. We could of stayed here without notifying anyone, but we wanted to do the right thing. We also wanted to leave as we didn't want to put the owners under any pressure to get the house cleaned before the next guests - owning an air bnb ourselves we know the requirements around this for cleaners in particular (cleaners will usually request a house is left to ventilate for at least 24 hours before entering). We also could not stay here as the location is away from everything and we would not of been able to get food delivered and were not able to enter a supermarket. Although my partner tested negative we were not going to trust that as we did not want to risk putting any other person in danger of catching covid. We treated him as if he was postive. We contacted the hosts and booking.Com two days later to organise a refund for our last night (they were aware we left early, as we called them and told them the circumstances as soon as we knew but said we would be in contact about the admin at a later date once we knew my health was in order) but they refused to give us a refund per terms and conditions. Being air bnb hosts ourselves in that same week we took it upon ourselves to refund a covid guest as they could not carry out their stay, there refund was much higher than what ours would of been for this cottage. We did not check the terms and conditions for airbnb, we simply refunded them based on humanity. Therefore, I do not recommended the hosts of this property as our values and morals do not align with them. Thanks, Hannah & Kieran.

Wayimaa Cottage is an absolutely incredible place. From the moment you arrive at the property, you are just amazed at the style, quality and design of the building and the gardens. The photos you see on the internet are really impressive, but do not do justice for the real thing. I did not think I would see a place as impressive in Australia.
