Not much.

First of all, I did not get to stay in the "Exclusive Apartment" that I thought that I had booked. When I arrive in Paderborn, I took a cab from the train station and arrived at the apartment only to find that it was already occupied. You can imagine my shock. My credit card had been charged for the booking a month in advance. The people in the apartment were very nice, and spoke a little English. We tried calling the landlord, but he did not answer. After a few minutes the landlord called back. He informed me that he had another apartment for me. This was with no advanced notice. The new apartment is about 1 km. away. I was grateful to the people who were living in the apartment for driving me over to the new one and even helping me get my luggage up the stairs. Still it was a Saturday afternoon and the hours lost dealing with the check-in, prevented getting the groceries that I had wanted. The new apartment is still near the city center, but further away from the University where I was working that week. I am 82 years old and the extra distance of a couple of kilometers added to the day's walk was something of a burden. The apartment is newly renovated, and indeed there were signs of it on the floor. The refrigerator was not plugged in, and when I plugged it in, it did not work. The landlord came over later that evening with an extension cord to plug it into a different socket. The one bath towel that was supplied was on a drying rack, still quite wet. It was not fully dry the next morning when I needed to use it. Otherwise, the apartment was only OK at best. It is rather poorly designed and the furniture in some cases does not fit well. I survived my week in Paderborn, but it should have been much better.

Central location, but not much noise. Big rooms. Aircondition unit.

Parking space, there was one public space outside the apartment, we had to park in a parking garage some 100 meters away. Pictures should include a photo of the entrance door, had to look around for a while before I found it.
