Cute room. I did not feel entirely safe. A deadbolt or extra lock would have been nice. It was clean but there were some drain flies in the bathroom. The cottages are cute for a nice overnight stay!

Cute little cottage nestled in the woods of Canyon Lake that was so peaceful & relaxing. We throughly enjoyed our stay! It was perfectly located near the wedding venue that we attended, and not far from Wildflour where we had brunch with delicious food!

This property is absolutely gorgeous! Of course we were sad that the drought has dried the lake in front of the cabins but it's all around you. We saw deer, rabbit, fox, raccoon and birds everywhere. The cottage was very clean and beautifully decorated! We had everything we needed. We spent 5 days and will definitely be back! This will be a favorite for us. I forgot the wild berries and there are hammocks between many of the Cypress trees.

We really enjoyed this property. It was a great size for two people, and it could comfortably sleep four. The property managers communicated quickly and the check-in process was smooth. Everything was clean inside the unit. The property is close to a lot of parks and restaurants. I would say to add recent photos of the outside space - the water level of the lake is at an all-time low and it was not quite lakefront as seen in the pictures. More like a 10 minute trek and a lot more muddy than anticipated. The bed also creaked really badly to the point that we were worried it would break under our weight, so perhaps a new mattress or frame is in order. Overall, we had a great time!

We had a very pleasant stay. The cottage comfortably fit our family of 4, and everything was clean and well-maintained. We would love to come back when the lake is full. Lastly, the owner responded quickly to our questions via email, and our issue was handled swiftly. Thank you for a great stay!

Cons: Had trouble entering propery at checkin and had to call office for assistance because the code didn't work. Lake was so low you can walk on the old road that used to be submerged. The neighbor said they found bones from an old cemetery after the lake dried up. Was not aware it was that low!! Pretty scenery but little water. Saw teens "parking" on Friday night from our backyard. Pros: saw raccoons, deer! Had everything we needed, coffee, toiletries, towels, etc. Bottled water was appreciated. Close to town! Nice back porch. Would stay again if water was at normal levels.

Omg! I love the cabin/small house 2 rooms but beautiful and comfortable. A great view to the land to walk and see. It was quiet, peaceful and enjoyable!

Water was extremely low but was still able to anchor the wave runner in the lake was a bit of a walk back to cabin. Cabin was nice would stay here again only suggestion would be to leave more then one trash bag for tenants and more then 1/2 roll of TP we have lots of garbage and nowhere to put it, had to run and get TP on day one. If I would have know would have brought some with us.

This was our 2nd time to stay in Ruth and it was a great stay. The only thing I was sad about, no fault of the property management company, was the water levels are extremely low due to the drought. The lake was still enjoyable, just had to walk a little further. Again, this is no one’s fault, just know before you go that you may not be able to walk straight out and enjoy the water.
The place is immaculate and is a very quiet location. We even got to meet and visit with a neighbor. We’ll definitely be back since we love this place so much!

Millie's place was a family friendly and convenient to all the places you can visit around Canyon Lake. The interior was modern and clean and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us to spread out. The kitchen featured a big oven, and we also used the outdoor BBQ to cook up some steaks from the food mart down the road. Ruth's cabin had more than enough places to sit outside and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The water was a bit low, but access to the beach near the boat ramp made up for it. We were lucky enough to meet "Joyce the neighbor" and hear some fun stories and experiences from the past 50 years.

The cabin was very nice and clean. It worked good for us (3 adults n 1 kid). Kitchen had everything you needed including bbq tools; there's even baking pans should you desire to bake or cook in the oven. There were sufficient towels and there were linens and pillows for the pullout sofa (not sure if all other cabins may have this since we asked and were told to take our own but that was no biggie). We were able to see some deer, which was a nice treat for all of us. The bed was comfortable, the only thing was the frame would make noise whenever you moved on the bed but other than that everything was great. We definitely consider coming back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ruth Cottage 1. Very clean and quiet. Bed is a little noisy when sleeping, but other than that our entire experience was perfect!! We will most definitely be back. This quiet gem and it's surroundings is the perfect getaway.
