Beautiful cabin with all the amenities we wanted (fire pit, hot tub, grill) and lots of extras provided by the owners. They were quick to respond to questions, and we had a great stay. Couldn’t ask for more!

We were here to celebrate a friend’s 40th. The house was great! Comfy beds with plenty of room! We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The house was a short drive to all we wanted to do: hiking, wineries and downtown Helen. We all said we wished we could’ve stayed a few more days.

Great house in an easy to find location. Very clean and well equipped with everything you’ll need. Owner is quick to communicate with questions. Nice place with all the extras!

Loved everything about this cabin and the property. The large kitchen, 2 living rooms, fun play room in basement, big bedrooms with comfy beds, wrap around deck with hot tub, outdoor fire pit with seating made our stay very fun and relaxing. Will recommend and will return!

This cabin was wonderful, it has everything you need and more. Very clean and charming. Bigger than it looks. We loved the hot tub and games downstairs. The drive to Helen was short. Love all the bear decorations and the big ceiling fan in the master was just cool. Enjoyed our stay.

The house exceeded our expectations and was convenient to all of our activities for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My family and I wanted a summer getaway in the Georgia Mountains, and Black Bear Lodge was exactly what we were looking for. Cozy yet roomy, spacious kitchen for cooking and dining, hot tub, game room, fire pit, and great location close to Helen. It was nice to all be together, yet have so many different spaces to hang out in. My teens particularly loved the game room in the basement. Would definitely recommend and return in the future!

I read all 44 5-star reviews and was very excited about our trip. My expectations were MUCH higher than reality. Mainly due to the description saying it is dog-friendly which is very different from dogs are allowed. We booked and paid for a week and upon arrival I had great concerns about the stairs to the bedrooms. They are narrow and slick and there are no balusters keeping one from falling to the living room. Our dogs both slipped on the way up and down the stairs. We could not afford a potential emergency incident with either one of them and we left less than 20 hrs after arriving. I messaged the owner and while they were sorry our vacation was interrupted, that was as far as the concern went. Yes, we booked and paid for the week. However, I would have thought the decent thing to do was at least offer some percentage of a refund. I know it is a business, but most businesses have a customer service ethic to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction. Not the case with this location.

The house was great, very clean. Very large well stocked kitchen. (Pots/pans/etc) rooms are almost too big. Driveway can probably fit about 6 cars. Road to property is partially gravel and dirt. Wasnt terrible for lower cars. But definitely left the cars dirty rain or dry. 18-20 minute drive to Helen... very large deck with tables and very clean jacuzzi.

This was the cleanest cabin we’ve ever rented - possibly cleanest property period. Way more than surface clean and no unpleasant cleaning supply odors either. Not a small accomplishment in any structure, let alone one that is not brand new. It was also remarkably well-appointed with all the basic supplies (aside from food) you could need. TONS of fresh, fluffy towels, baskets of clean flannel blankets, etc etc. Game room reminded me of my grandparents’ basement in New England but not in a bad way! That classic smell melange of cinder block, wood and shop supplies brought me back. We really enjoyed our stay, brief as it was, and will be back if we stay in the Helen area again.

The boys loved the game room downstairs.

We had our family together for a cozy Christmas at the cabin. 3 generations together. The cabin was cute and cozy but plenty of room to spread out. We didn't get to use the hot tub (due to below freezing temperatures). The cabin was as described, clean and tidy, well stocked!

This carbon is cozy and warm. It has enough room for the entire family. I guess the only down side was that you can hear everything no matter what room you’re in. Not necessarily a down side. Lovely cabin!

We loved the cabin (quirks and all). The surrounding areas were beautiful. We enjoyed seeing the deer, foxes, hawks and woodpeckers. The host was so helpful. The fire pit was so much fun. And the hot tub helped soothe my aches. Enjoy everyone!

We had a great time at the cabin despite the rainy weekend. We enjoyed going to Unicoi State Park and seeing the water falls.

This property was exactly as advertised. Nice peaceful quiet area. The owners were more than accommodating to our needs and wishes and went out of their way to do so. Very easy and pleasant to work with. Leaves were very colorful and the view from the hot tub on the back deck was spectacular. Great location for seeing or doing just about anything in the N. GA mountains. We were within a 20-30 minute drive for great food, great hikes and auto touring to see the fall colors. The only drawback was there was not enough time to do all the things we would liked to have done. I guess that means another trip to the mountains and this cabin will be high on our list when we do so. Thanks Susie and Tony for a wonderful week in your cabin. This cabin exceeded our expectations. It is located deep in the woods and we had total privacy and quiet during our entire stay. The hosts thought of everything in the cabin. We were close to a number of wineries, 3 of which we enjoyed visiting. And our trip to Oktoberfest each day in Helen was only about a 20-minute drive. We would definitely book this house again.l

It was great the only thing we did not like is it did not have a view of the mountains and there was not enough places to hang towels to dry. close to allot of things was nice to stay at.

We live just outside Orlando and frequent the theme parks often, but when I asked my 3 grandsons if they were given the choice between returning to Orlando or staying in the cabin, all 3 choose the cabin hands down.

Our family had a great time in North East Georgia. Tons of outdoor activities, shopping and restaurants to go to from where this cabin is located. This is a real wood log cabin with plenty of charm and spaces for family to hangout inside and out. Everything works as it should. We enjoyed our stay very much with some lazy mornings watching the deer out back and around the area as well as dinners and the kids spending some free time in the hottub, play air hockey and the local rivers to cool off or just walking around the neighborhood. We will definitely be back to enjoy some more of the great George North East!! Thank you Susie!!

Great place to stay. Comfort and room to enjoy. Owner very responsive to your needs. Conveniently located outside of Helen. Enjoyed the wildlife and scenery. Beds are okay but need replacing soon. Overall a great stay and vacation spot.
