This was amazingly relaxing week with my two children! The home was fantastic and we’ll be back to the area!!

Jeff and Holly go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and we love that we could bring our 8mo old golden retriever! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a getaway to SML!

Another perfect trip to this beautiful home on SML. It doesn’t get any better than this home, especially for our family with 2 sons and our pup. There is so much to do both in and out of the house, and the quiet lake cove is perfection. We can’t wait for our next visit!!

My family enjoyed our 1st trip to SML! I am glad we chose this house to stay at. It is apparent the owners take great pride in their property. The house is beautifully decorated and maintained. It is very easy to prepare food since the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The golf course neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and it was easy to tie up to the floating dock. Holly provided a ton of information about local restaurants and things to do. My kids enjoyed the basement game room and all the other games she has stocked in the house. We are looking forward to our return visit! Thanks for your hospitality!

We rented this amazing property the week of our daughters wedding in Rocky Mount,Va. we had a lot to do prior to the wedding so we didn’t utilize the property to its fullest but it had everything and then some! It was so nice to arrive with the beds made and a welcome card with a few snacks from the owner. We can’t say enough good things about Brown Dogs Bluff! If you are looking for nice clean quiet vacation house this is the one for you! Would absolutely stay here again

The home is so easy to get to, abundant parking, no worries about blocking someone in. The photos do not do this house justice. It is beautiful inside and out. Lots of room for everyone. Great house and quiet water front.

We were in town for a Liberty University graduation with lots of activities so it was nice to retreat back to this amazing property where we had everything we needed provide for us, Comfortable and beautiful accommodations and decorations. We loved the game room!!! I have been in the hotel industry for many years, I have a little higher expectations and this property met them all! Thank you Holly, for sharing your home with us, we will be back! We enjoyed the deck, the dock, kayaking and jet skiing on the lake, (we brought our own jetski). The house was perfect, and we originally booked to cover iffy spring weather. We had beautiful weather and utilized the dock for fishing and kayaking.

Perfect in EVERY way! From the gorgeous golf club community, to the circular driveway with plenty of parking, to the beautifully decorated home, to the welcome tray of tasty pastries, to the lovely landscaping and paved walkway to the LAKE, to the kayaks and adirondack chairs and covered patio table and seating, to the hammock, to the GAME ROOM, to the well-stocked kitchen, to the cavernous master bath and closet, to the first aid kit! Perfect in EVERY way!

We had a great time staying here for our trip to SML. The house was perfect. Everything was in great condition and very clean. The game room was a lot of fun!

We had a very enjoyable 5 day stay over the 4th of July. The property is very tidy and clean, and it's clear the owners (Holly and her husband) are very detail-oriented. They have thought of just about everything! They provided us unlimited ways to entertain ourselves, including board games, card games, ping-pong, pool table, foosball, etc. Perfect for a family vacation! The property is located in an ideal spot near the end of an arm of the lake (away from boat traffic) so it is very calm for swimming or kayaking. We rented a boat for the week from the local marina, and there was plenty of room to tie up to the dock. The only negative was the lack of linens being included, but an optional linen service is offered. Overall, we had a fantastic time, would definitely come back, and can highly recommend this property.

Excellent vacation with our young adult children and fur babies! The property was immaculate and has all the comforts of home, plus plenty of extras with something fun for everyone! Owners are very informative about home and area. Beautiful and quiet property to rest and relax. This home is well laid out for family and kids to spread out. We enjoyed our stay.

My husband, young son and I visited this home so that we could attend my step-daughter's graduation at nearby Univ of Lynchburg and have a few days of family fun together. This property was everything we could have hoped for to enjoy a few days of fun and relaxation! The house was super clean and cozy with great amenities like the game room, cute toiletries, kayaks, dog bowl and bed, and baby gates. There was excellent access to the lake via a spacious dock with kayaks, floats, and comfy chairs perfect for an afternoon lounging in the water. And the location was ideal - in a quiet neighborhood yet close to great restaurants and marinas. Everything was super easy with the hosts, who were very gracious and who had the highest of standards for a getaway rental. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning in the near future!

Fabulous rental property - the property itself has everything , and it was super clean…Great location on quiet cove - we went charter fishing and were able to get picked up right at the dock ! Great communication - highly recommend !

Everything about our stay was amazing. The views of the lake are incredible and the house was spotless, comfortable, and beautiful. The accommodations and extra touches left by the hosts were so thoughtful and valued, especially for our family. We spent most of our 5 day trip fishing off the dock and using the kayaks. It was difficult to get my husband away from the dock and impossible to get my sons out of the game room. We are so excited to return!

I've rented homes at SML for 10 years. This one is by far the best. Great location and plenty to do when its sunny or raining. Furniture and beds are very comfortable. The home and property was very pet friendly for my dog with hip dysplasia. Thanks Holly and Heff.
