Our plans changed to another weekend and we were unable to stay at this property because it was already booked. Since we cancelled before the date, we were able to get 100% refund and booked another property. Just dropping a note of gratitude and thanks for an easy process and quick refund. We will certainty keep this adorable property in mind for our next visit.

We were quite comfortable in the Sugar Shack. We were able to stock the large refrigerator and there was a good selection of cookware to make our own meals. We were able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants. There were plenty of towels and we liked that we could use the washing machine. We liked the retro decor and quirky touches like repurposing an old porcelain water fountain for bathroom sink. Next time we’ll request screens in the bedroom windows so we can have fresh air.

Had a great 4 night stay. Loved the decor of the house and the fenced in yard for my dog. Had everything I needed (except soap for the shower). Close to everything. Felt safe. I will book it again!

It was an easy walk into Brevard about 2 or 3 blocks and we were in the center of town. We played golf on two of the local golf clubs and ate in quite a few of the restaurants in town Had a time.

This place was perfect for picking up kids from camp. I walked downtown for breakfast, which was very convenient.

The Sugar Shack is a nice cabin in a quiet neighborhood near the center of town. It was clean and comfortable. It also has a nice backyard.

We needed a quick weekend getaway for our family! The sugar shack was perfect! Cute, comfortable and perfect for those traveling with pets! We loved being able to walk into town for any meal or dessert, or just to go shopping- so close to ALL the waterfalls too! Highly recommend!

We had a rainy but excellent stay in Brevard. The Sugar Shack was the perfect location for some mountain adventure! Loved the proximity to downtown and its funky charm!

The shack was quite nice for my needs. Well managed property with good communication from host.

The house was just as advertised, and perfect for my sister and me. A nice, safe backyard for my dog with lots of squirrel scent trails to keep her entertained. Thank you for the flashlights to help me see her at night, she’s a Black Lab! My only suggestion would be to lower the tv about 6” to make watching easier on our necks. I hope to return.

My partner and I rented this house for ten nights for a mountain biking/trail running vacation. It was our first time to Pisgah NF and this house was a perfect fit for us. The location is great - only ten minutes to the main National Forest park entrance, twenty minutes to DuPont State Park, and an easy walk to downtown Brevard. Having laundry on site was key and the locking shed for bike storage was ideal. The home is small but still had plenty of space for the two of us to move around and be comfortable. The house was clean. We would stay here again.

Nice, pet friendly place. Convenient to downtown Brevard and a short drive to several great hikes. Backyard is nice and big but could use some lights out there. Seems to be a few white squirrels living nearby too so if you're on the hunt to see them, this is as good a spot as any!

The negative review has nothing to do with the property manager, the cleanliness, the location, All of these are five star. But I was born and raised in Brevard, which has a very damp weather conditions. And I am allergic to mold. Houses were before 1970 or so, moisture barriers weren't being installed. And the house has a very moldy odor. My parents house was the same. Nothing against Brevard, it's a great place, the location couldn't be better, the house has thoughtful touches (we arrived after dark, and all porch lights were on as well as lights on in the house, very welcoming) but it is an older home and does have a mold smell. So, if that is a negative for you, look for a newer place to stay.

My partner and I spent 7 weeks in the Sugar Shack and had a fantastic Summer in Brevard. The house is a short walk to the shops and restaurants down town and a short drive from Pisgah making it an ideal location for us. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the summer. We enjoyed our stay at the sugar shack. The location was very close to the downtown area and restaurants. Would definitely come back to stay next time we are in Brevard.
