Beautiful and adorable home. Only concern was parking and getting in/out of the actual house was difficult, especially for my Mom (72yrs old). Otherwise, great experience!

The home was very clean, nice, and met our needs for a weekend away. We were very pleased and would be happy to visit again.

We would definitely rent Mountain Laurel Treehouse again and highly recommend it to others. Beautiful decor, wonderfully organized and perfect setting! Convenient to everything!

Our impression of the house from the pictures online was quite different from what we found. The house is cute but we were expecting a larger place that would be a bit more comfortable for older, but fit, adults. The house is close to the town but it is not a walkable distance on curvy roads. The deck is lovely but there is busy road just below with trucks and traffic going by especially in the morning creating much road noise. The closets did not have hangers; the kitchen is strange and not conducive to much cooking. When we arrived the house was being pressure washed which meant we could not get in at all. The manager did respond when I called, but was not cordial or caring about it. I am not one to write negative reviews; it was not a bad place to stay but we expected something larger and overall more comfortable so it you don't have our expectations it is fine. Note there are cushions for outside chairs in the cabinet on the deck. We found them after a day or two of sitting on hard chairs.

Close to town, clean and easy.

We had a wonderful in Highlands and the rental house accommodations were wonderful! You'll need to navigate some stairs but once you get to the living spaces, you'll find them very comfy and clean!! Loved the new appliances and having a barbecue was a nice feature. It was also fun to eat outdoors on the deck under roof and take in the natural wooded setting.

The property was very clean and nicely furnished. It was plenty of room for my husband and me. The property manager was super easy to work with. I even had an issue with the cable and both she and the owner came by to deal with it. There is a good bit of sound coming from the main road below. That was the only drawback but overall it was a wonderful property.

Lovely stay! Quite comfortable for two people or two couples. It was close to town and everything we needed. If you have trouble going up and downstairs this might not be the best spot for you. Overall? 5+ star rating.

The cabin was perfect for our mom & daughter getaway. Very cozy and had everything we needed. The parking was a little tight but it worked. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time at MHML, the house is beautiful and it is a great place . We walked to Highlands from there and the location is for nature lovers . We found a lot of welcoming coffee and tea , everything needed for cooking lovers in COVID time , a great book giving a lot of information and very cozy beds with a lot of warm covers for a snowy Christmas . Great deck and grill . Fire-pit place is also great , but you need to be vigilant because there are a lot of trees around it . Plan for a very small fridge, and a lot of stairs to bring things up and down . The parking at the bottom of the house is better overall . Mirror Lake is one of the best locations in Highlands .

Enjoyed the cabin that is well appointed. Very nice deck. The constant spillway water sound was nice. There is some road noise During the day but it not distracting. Our entry code did not work upon arrival but Benny was very responsive and provided a new code right away. That is customer service! We will stay there again.

We really enjoyed this property. We love Highlands in July. It always nice to escape the heat in Georgia. We rented this sweet little house with another couple. It fit our needs perfectly. We enjoyed dinner on the back porch with all the trees it’s like being in a tree house. While there are steep stairs it was not a problem for us. We picked this house due to its location to friends who live in mirror lake. It fit the bill for us and we enjoyed everything about this cozy little house. Would definitely rent again.

This was a well kept, well decorated, charming cottage and you did feel like you were in a tree house. It was a great getaway from COVID quarantine and we used the deck, and the well appointed kitchen. Very clean and well equipped. Very cozy! The bed was very comfortable - we did bring our own pillows as Debra suggested. We hiked, did some fishing and some scenic drives. Glad to see everyone in Highlands observing masks and social distancing. Would recommend this cute cottage. Please note that there are lots of stairs to get to the house as the pictures indicate. Also, there is a washer and dryer in the house but it appears guests are not able to use it anymore. The small fridge drawer worked because of the beverage cooler that was in the kitchen. We brought most of our food and ate at the cottage on the lovely covered deck. Overall, this was the perfect four day respite we needed - being in this beautiful setting did a lot to lift our spirits during this crazy time.

The cottage itself is great. Secluded and a Short mile to downtown. Roomy for just the two of us and as advertised has all quality amenities needed We’re thoughtfully provided. High quality efficiency kitchen. Very comfortable king bed and living area. Central Hvac was perfect and large 55” TV was nice. Deck is large and very nice though it rained quite a lot during week so we only were able to enjoy it a couple of mornings for breakfast under the covered area . You do feel like you are in the trees!!! Parking is very tight and barely allowed room for our 4Runner up top, though there is a lower level area that we did not attempt to use. As noted, access is not good for those with mobility issues as the steps are numerous, steep and were slick due to the rain . Great property for a couples get away or good friends w the separate King rooms

We really enjoyed our stay in this little house in the Highlands!  The house is incredibly clean and well kept. In the time of Covid, the cleanliness was especially reassuring.   The property manager was extremely responsive and flexible which we appreciated. The beds and linens were high quality and each bedroom had an available noise machine. It was rainy during our stay and the sound of the rain on the roof was very relaxing.  We liked looking out the big picture window and into the trees as we enjoyed our morning coffee.  The living room has a nice setup for watching movies on the big TV in the evenings.  The deck has a covered area with a table for dining and very comfortable Adirondack chairs.  We didn't take advantage of it this visit, but the house is in a great location that's just a short drive to downtown. Or if you're up for a nice walk, it looks like you could make your way on foot through the Mirror Lake community to downtown to avoid walking on the main road. This stay was a solid 4.8 stars for us.  The road noise,  while not terrible, did take away slightly from that 'in the middle of the forest' feeling you otherwise feel when sitting on the back porch.  Though there were also very plesant sounds as we could also hear the waterfall sounds from the Mirror Lake dam and enjoyed that the home was so easy to access from the main road. If it was my place, I  would add a small counter top microwave that could be stowed away when not in use for things like re-heating leftovers or making microwave popcorn but otherwise there was nothing we needed that was not there. We had a great time celebrating! The house is really cute, very clean (nice linens) and had everything needed for a weekend getaway. Parking is little tricky, and just as an FYI, there’s no way to get to the door without going up or down several steps.

We absolutely loved this cottage. It’s well equipped and so comfortable. The beds were very nice with the perfect layers for staying warm and cozy. The kitchen is well done and has all of the essentials in case you decide to eat in. We will absolutely stay here again as it is now one of our favorites in highlands. We visit the are 20 times per year so we are knowledgeable about the rentals in the area.
