The Catho cottage was perfect for our little family and our visit to the area. It was homely and peaceful and the outdoor space was great for the kids. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Great little cottage with everything you need for a relaxed family and pet friendly beach holiday. 10 mins easy walk to an off leash beach with pretty lagoon made for doggie heaven. Along with the massive field out the back of the house surrounded by beautiful bush land! The only drawback is the proximity of bedrooms to main road through the town which at times was noisy from passing bikes and trucks. Everything generously supplied for all your needs, including picnic rug, games, basic supplies, smart TV, and outdoor bbq. Some insider info from owners on local bush walks would have been welcome as internet resources limited for walks in the area. Beautiful long beach with clean water and relaxed dog friendly locals close to Lake MacQuarie and many other swimming spots. Simple yet with everything you need for a great home stay.

I had a great time staying at Catho Miners Cottage. I wanted somewhere to walk the dog, read, reflect and rest and the cottage and location were perfect for this. Fiona was really helpful and I left feeling rested. Highly recommended.

Nice quiet country cottage close to the beach. There were mosquitos in the house as mentioned in other reviews so we went there prepared. Overall a good experience of a country town.

Perfect spot to stay for Raffertys Trail Run event. Very cosy and comfortable cottage. Will be back with the dog next time! Great weekend away thanks 😊

The cottage is very sweet, clean and comfortable. We loved the spacious sunny garden and the cosy fireplace. Coffee beans and electric blankets were much appreciated.

Lovely cottage, has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Great to be able to bring the dog and the yard is great for them to run around. The fire was perfect for the cold evenings and heaters kept the house cosy. Lovely to have an electric blanket on the bed. (Would suggest bringing your own pillow if you are fussy, like us!) Good position with a pleasant walk to the beach and short drive to the pub or to shops in Swansea. Recommend a visit (or several!) to the fish co-op for delicious prawns and oysters! Overall, we had a great few days and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

A lovely fenced dog-friendly cottage near a beautiful beach. Also close enough to Newcastle to enjoy the restaurants at Honeysuckle drive.

Great spot for a break. Great surf and dog friendly beaches close. Brilliant backyard for our pooch and kids to play.

Closet to the bay and a charming little cottage but mozzies are bad (as warned) and as such flyscreens on the windows would be a welcome improvement. Good stay otherwise!

Very lovely and clean and a beautiful location. I really enjoyed sharing the backyard with the rosellas and ample running space for the dogs.

The Miner’s Cottage is an absolute delight.It is spacious,clean,light and nicely furnished and presented. There is a wonderful large,fenced backyard that backs onto expansive green space.The location is convenient to the nearby beaches and cafes. We loved our stay, the cottage is clean, has a lovely backyard with an outdoor eating area and is close to beaches. Booking process was easy and friendly. Access to lots of nearby beaches and all main shops in next town. Would stay again.

The cottage was nice and after a small hiccup when we first arrived, that was immediately fixed by the owner, we had a good time. However, people with mobility issues may find the large step from the kitchen to the lounge area difficult. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

We had a great weekend, the house was just as described. We loved the large fenced in backyard for our 2 dogs. We cooked all our meals in the well equipped kitchen that has practically everything. The host warned that the mozzies can be bad, they were a little problematic so we kept all doors and windows closed. Coils and cans of Raid were provided in any case. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to unwind and get away from it all.

The perfect base to explore the area. A slow-paced weekend of sunshine, sand, long walks and beautiful coastal vistas.

Quiet little cottage just down the hill from a long stretch of quiet beach. The cottage was a great little spot for a weekend getaway with our dog. The owner did warn us about the mosquitos, but we didn’t realise how bad they would be, sleeping at night was restless, I believe a ceiling fan would assist with this issue. Unfortunately the BBQ was not able to be used for our stay and there was only one pan in the kitchen, none the less the rest of the house was great and cosy for us and the backyard was pretty well fenced off for our dog (few small gaps, so be weary if you have a small dog). The town itself is a sleepy little town, I would recommend a Saturday afternoon at the Catho Pub, there was live music and the locals were all great people!

Lovely quaint cottage with combination of classic/modernised features. Fireplace was wonderful and needed as it was cool. Bedrooms very comfortable and carpeted with lovely bed linen and snug bedding. Coffee machine a plus! Our dogs absolutely loved running around the large backyard and enjoyed the freedom. Would definitely stay again.

Overall good. Driveway steep and slippery had to park on road. Loved the beach and our dog loved exploring it too. Milk sachets provided were expired Suggest flyscreens for mosquito's and fresh air.

Lovely beach cottage, in a friendly town, Fiona was fantastic to deal with, kindly dropped extra firewood when this Queenslander was feeling the unseasonal cold, perfect dog friendly accommodation with gorgeous off leash beach so close by, I’ll be back with my pets soon.

The cottage was exactly what we expected! Great living space with a fire place and a specious and secure garden for your pet! Great location and amazing birds chirping in the morning! We had an amazing time!

A nice place that forces you to relax. We all had amazing sleeps. The property wasn’t fully secured for our little Cavoodle but otherwise a positive experience.

We loved this accommodation. We just wished we stayed long enough. The place was perfect. Communication outstanding. Hopefully we will be back.
