For our first stay in the Lake District, The Duck House in Braithwaite was in a perfect location for Keswick and the surrounding areas. Braithwaite is a lovely little village and we were within walking distance of a couple of pubs which served lovely food. The house had everything we needed and we had a great stay! We can definitely recommend this property.

Lovely bungalow - nicely furnished and decorated, very well equipped. Comfortable beds, great shower. Wi-Fi worked well. We enjoyed sitting in the sun room looking at the lovely view. There is a nice back patio with a table and chairs which would be lovely on sunny days. Off-road parking. Great location for access to village shop and pubs plus beautiful walks from the door. Buses run through the village into Keswickit’s a nice walk. Hosts were helpful and friendly. We appreciated their efforts to recycle, reduce single use plastic and to use non-polluting cleaning products. We would definitely consider staying again. Phone signal wasn’t great but that’s due to the village location - not the property.

Lovely, spacious house. Quiet location with easy access to Keswick and the rest of the Lake District. The access to the driveway is challenging, particularly with a larger vehicle. You certainly need your wits about you! The location pin provided by the host was not accurate but the written directions were. You are asked to strip the beds and do some other things before you leave (more than I've come across in other stays). Check out time is 9.30am so this was difficult with a small toddler. Overall we enjoyed the stay and these are just very minor gripes.

Quiet hamlet cosy bungalow excellent village shop.

The Duck house is a gem! In a fantastic location for walking, with easy access to Keswick. It is clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Lovely comfortable bed, smart kitchen and very modern bathrooms powerful showers and a huge deep bath! A lovely conservatory with a huge picture window looking over beautiful countryside. The Duck House is surrounded by mountains... with great walks from the door. Private parking, and a short walk to the village store, The Royal Oak and Jasper's coffee shop. We loved our stay and recommend it highly. Nothing

Cottage was beautiful, clean and well appointed. Central Braithwaite village. Great to stroll to the village shop. All local areas easily accessible. Great walks on the doorstep. We found the key safe a bit of a trial as we were in and out quite a bit but that is really a very small thing. Probably need a stash of parking discs as they are easy to forget to return

The bungalow was great. Exactly as the photos and spotlessly clean. It had all the facilities we needed and was a fantastic base for days out in the lake district.

We have had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. It has everything you need for a family holiday, well equipped kitchen, amazing views & a peaceful, tranquil setting. Would definitely come here again. Thanks :)
