Amazing house with lots of bedrooms in the perfect location. It was able to comfortably hold 10 people easily.

The house and property were great! The check-in process was smooth. We loved the huge deck, fire pit, grill, private dune entrance, neighbors, plethora of beds and baths, big kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer, fireworks and convenient/plentiful parking. My suggestions would be: fix the water in main shower (no hot water), toilet seat broke, bathroom floors were dirty, outdoor shower didn't work, game table was falling apart, upstairs shower did not drain (filled with sand). These are small suggestions; we had a great week. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful house with us! I would definitely recommend this rental!

This house was great for our large group of adults and kids (ages 1-4). The property had everything we needed, from a well-stocked kitchen to beach toys/chairs to a fire pit. We enjoyed going to the beach close-by but still separated by a dune for backyard privacy. Felt like the property accommodated us even more than expected from the listing!

Great location for outlets and casinos. It was decorated so nicely and very clean. Would reserve again!

How you Dune was a great place right on the lake. We made many memories with friends and would highly recommend this place for a friend or family vacation.

The beach house is beautiful, spacious, and perfectly located right on the beach. We enjoyed the large deck and fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could need. The ample supply of towels, beach chairs, and sand toys came in handy with the kids. The den and foosball table were much loved by the kids and allowed the adults some time away from them. Thank you for a great getaway.

We had a wonderful time at How You Dune! The view from the top of the dune was a bonus when watching the speed boat races and the sunsets. Some of our best photos ever! Communication with the owner was excellent. They were very responsive to our questions /concerns.

We rented this for my parents 45th anniversary celebration. 15 of us from 6-68 stayed in the house and had plenty of room and space if needed! Short walk to the most beautiful beach and lots of toys/floats/chairs come with the rental. Highly recommend! Thanks for the amazing memories!!

After 2 very difficult years, we rented the house as a retreat for our school administrator team in order to get work done and spend quality time together. It was perfect! The house was clean, very well stocked, and roomy enough for our group of 10. The hosts were very responsive and friendly. It was just the thing we needed to meet the needs of our group and we have already agreed to rent it again for next years retreat.

My family and I travel a lot and this was a family reunion that left everyone very satisfied. This home is very comfortable and filled with everything you need to make this house a home from towels to kitchen ware.

House was in a great location and plenty of space. Our group of twelve, 5 adults and 7 teens did not ever feel crowded. Plenty of supplies for our two night stay and kitchen supplies.

House was clean and pictures of property were accurate. Everything described in the listing was in the house and available for our group to use. Property owner was able to get back with any questions we had while staying at the house.

We stayed here with cousins, aunts/uncles and grandparents (12 people total), and it suited us all. The owners were absolutely gracious and kind to work with. We'd stay there again! Oh and the beach was gorgeous!

We stayed here with two other families (6 adults, 8 kids under age 6!) and had a wonderful beach trip. The house is set up perfectly for family groups, especially all the seating and tables on the large deck. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also well situated for multiple families or extended families. The location was great, the house is right on the dunes and you can walk directly from the house over the dune to Sheridan Beach (we ended up often taking the longer, less steep route from the public lot since we were usually carrying kids), which was super helpful and convenient when trips back and forth to the house inevitably occurred. The beach itself was great for kids in the morning - waves were very gentle and there's a long shallow part before you hit a sandbar. The crowd definitely got a little rowdier in the afternoons and evenings, but at that point we were pretty much heading in for the night anyways : ) and didn't have any issues with noise from the house. Sunsets were beautiful from the top of the dunes! All in all, a great spot to relax and enjoy some beach time. Brittany was great to work with and accommodating of our requests. Would recommend!

Wonderful stay, incredible location! You can't get better than your backyard being the beach! We love the decor & set up of this home. We've come here for many years & it's always a highlight of our summer.

This is really one of the best vacation rental I had ever stayed in. The location is perfect, it's beach front (only one house down from the blue beach walk way). There's enough parking for all three families and enough bathroom for everyone to be happy get all the kidos clean from coming back from the beach. The outdoor space with lots of tables and seating for everyone to hang out and the fire pit makes the dads super happy and relaxed. The house is very clean very well stocked with everything we need. Over all, I am in love with this property and will be back next summer!

Not a thing needs changing. The house was perfect for 9 ladies celebrating a big birthday. Seven bedrooms is a find. Outdoor space and indoor spaces were both wonderful. Nicely stocked kitchen, comfortable seating indoors and out. Fire pit, deck and home are great - the beach is icing on the cake.

Beautiful location. Just a short walk over the dune to the beach. Minutes from the casino and marina as well as the zoo. Only concern was the public access to the beach and to know there will be drunks (which can be amusing but could also be annoying). Owners are so nice and responsive!!!! Great layout and size for multiple families, close to a great beach. The central rack with lots of beach towels + big washer/dryer was nice. Good kitchen, and it helped that the weather was perfect while we were there.

My husband & I just spent a week with our 4 children(plus spouses) & our 5 Grandchildren all under the age of 5. The house was plenty big enough for the 14 of us to spread out or all be together. The beach is literally out & over the dune in the back yard. We highly recommend this property!

We had a fantastic time at How You Dune! Plenty of space, great areas to hang out and eat with family and the beach is right there. I would say the dune to get to the beach is quite a workout but there is public access right next store that is much easier. I would definitely recommend How You Dune!

How you dune was an amazing location to spend my 30th birthday with a group of friends. The property was completely as advertised, and had plenty of room for a large group. The outdoor seating was incredible, and the instant access to the beach was even better. All of our questions were answered extremely quickly, and Jennifer was always quick to respond. I would recommend this property to anyone for their next vacation. Thank you for having us! We will definitely be back!

This house was absolutely perfect for our getaway! Only 1 hour from Chicago made it even better. We had the best time. Lots of bedrooms, amazing patio right on the sand. The dune separates the house from a beautiful beach but the hike up is worth it. Jen was super helpful with everything and even offered help for things needed in town. We would definitely love to come back! :)

This home is perfect for a large family! Very well-equipped with kitchen utensils, games, linens, beach chairs and toys, etc. The sand dune was a bit steep, so we walked one home away and used a padded public access to get to the beach. Very easy. The only suggestion I can make is to remove the big chair from the master bedroom on first floor. A short bench to put luggage on may work better. This was totally not a big deal, though. We will definitely consider renting this home again!

Enjoyed the property

This property really has everything you need for multi-family gatherings. Two downstairs and two upstairs bathrooms, a great mix of queen/king and twin bedrooms and an open-concept dining/living/kitchen area makes for a great layout and space to spread out . The outside area is also fantastic - fire pit and ample dining and lounging space. The house is incredibly well appointed - beach towels, chairs and toys and a really well stocked kitchen. Jen was so wonderful and responsive - really the best host we’ve ever had! As others have said the dune is a bit of a hike but my parents are in their 60s and had no issues. The view is stunning at the top and a great beach awaits in the other side. We definitely recommend “How You Dune!” We would come back in a heartbeat.
