First of all, the lake was great, so quiet and pretty. The house was clean but with an overwhelming smell of moth balls. The yard, while spacious and private, has huge holes all throughout (don't break an ankle). The back "porch" is scary would be nice to have a deck instead of a set of stairs with no landing. Then off those back stairs they have a flower bed with rocks... On the piece of wood they have holding the rocks in, there's a nail sticking up where my dog sliced it's paw open on (which made for a stressful time). Then to the absolute WORSE part... The MOSQUITOS! As soon as the sun goes down or it gets cloudy you better run inside. I have never had so many mosquito bites in my life. To the point where we were all miserable from them. This was very unfortunate for us because we love sitting outside and having fires and looking at the stars. Like I said this place could have been perfect but unfortunately it did fall short for us. All we wanted was to have some fires and look at the stars without all the worry about an injured paw, mosquitos, trying to mark holes in the yard so people didn't break an ankle... Seems like we spent a lot of money to have this many inconveniences. The couch was tore up and well broken in lol The people who take care of the property showed up frequently as they use the garage, which gave you the feel that you were being checked up on. Like I said it could have been perfect... But..

This house was perfect for our annual "guys snowmobiling trip" to the UP. Spacious house was well furnished and super comfortable. Had everything we needed. Great central location to all of the Gogebic area trails. Can hop right on the lake and get to all of the places you want to go. Highly recommended!

Very nice updated property on a private lot on lake Gogebic. This house was in very nice condition and well supplied. We found the kitchen to be well equipped and everything in the house was nicely updated. This is an older property and there were a few minor things on the outside that could stand some improvement but overall this is a nice spot close to the lodge and an interesting store.

Holly and Scott were excellent hosts, the home was spacious and very clean, the yard and lake frontage were beautiful, all on a very private and quiet acreage.

It’s hard to describe what a beautiful lot this property sits on. No neighbors in sight. Even in July, there is little boat traffic. The yard is flat and grassy with a nice fire pit and trees for shade. It is quiet, peaceful, and just a perfect lakeside setting. This was our second stay at this cottage, and it was just as lovely as the first. It is clean and cozy with plenty of space to spread out. It’s equipped with anything you need, and the central a/c was a nice perk in late July. The caretakers checked in on us and were very kind and willing to help with anything. The lake is clean and great for fishing, tubing, and skiiing. Our elementary age kids spent hours swimming in front of the cottage and taking their kayaks to the little sandbar nearby. We truly think that this home on Lake Gogebic is a little slice of heaven!!

Stayed here with my family this past week, what a wonderful place. The house is perfect, it has everything you could want - including a well supplied kitchen. The firepit is perfect as is the dock. The dock can accommodate large and multiple boats. The fishing on the lake was good for walleye and bass, and the water was good for swimming in the dock area and nearby sandbar. We'll be back for sure!

Lovely cabin! Lots of space for us to hang out, play games, have meals. The lake is beautiful. No beach but we did find a way to get in the lake without jumping off the dock. We saw a Bald Eagle fly over the lake. Our daughters family saw a mamma bear with 3 cubs about twenty min down the road. It was relaxing and beautiful and we loved it! The electricity is a little dicey when cooking meals. A stand to put suitcases on the back bedroom would have been nice. The beds are wonderful! Location is wonderful. Loved every min of our stay!

We had a lovely time in Marenisco. The lakefront had all we had hoped for—trees to hang hammocks, shallow water for kids to play in, a bonfire, and trees provided privacy on both sides. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you so much!!

This property was perfect for our two famlies and couple dogs. Huge yard and waterfront wooded on both sides so it felt like we were all alone in the woods on the lake. Everything was stocked including firewood for the firepit. Just a perfect setup for our group. Thank you!

We had a wonderful July 4th holiday at this property. Everything was as advertised. Look forward to visiting again in the future. Great cabin getaway!

The cabin was just as described. Cute cozy feel to it with some modern updates. The kids loved fishing off the dock and had success there and on the lake. We all enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding from our shore to a small sandbar close by. There was plenty of sleeping space and bathrooms and kitchen were stocked. We did wish there was a table that could accommodate 8 of us to sit together and play cards while it rained. We also wished for a dryer on the property to dry towels, suits, wet clothes from rain, etc. - though there was a clothes line outside. The rain just didn’t help that work very well. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the views, the property and the remote location.

We will definitely be back! Wonderful property, Great Lake, close to a local place for lunch! It was wonderful! Clean and lots of rooms, never felt cramped. Easy walk to the water and good dock for the boats. Bald eagles, and many loon calls at night. Thanks for having us!

Five stars is probably not even adequate to share how much we loved this property! First and Ford most is the peace, quiet, and privacy. So hard to find! Lake Gogebic is a huge beautiful lake with very little traffic, even in peak season. We could sit out on the dock or by the fire pit and enjoy complete privacy most of the time. The water was a comfortable temperature for lots of swimming! The fire pit, the lawn in front of the property, the sandbar close by, and a little creek were all highlights for our elementary age children! They had the freedom to explore in their kayaks because the water was shallow, calm, and there was little boat traffic. The fishing was a little more challenging this time of year, but we caught several bass and a few pike. As for the house, it is impeccably clean and very cozy. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need. There is a giant paved parking area where the kids would also play hockey and ball. We recommend hitting a supermarket or Walmart type store (nearest one is half hour away) before you come and stocking up so that you can cook at the cabin, but there is also the Gogebic grocery within walking distance to get anything you could need. We cooked at the cabin most of the time, but we also enjoyed JW’s barbecue and Konteka where we got to see black bears! We spent the majority of the time using the fishing boat that we rented from Bears Nine Pines resort and the kayaks we brought, but we also spent a great afternoon exploring Bond Falls. Everyone we met was kind and courteous, and the owner and the caretaker were lovely and easy to work with. We highly recommend this property and would definitely love to come again someday!

Arlene’s 30+ years of experience shows in her attention to detail. Very easy to work with. Made sure all questions were answered. The place is a clean and very well appointed property. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

The house had enough room for 2 adults and 5 kids. We had a blast!!!
