The lovely house exceeded our expectations. The decor was beach perfect. Would highly recommend this property. It was immaculate, comfortable and had everything you might want provided.

Wonderful house! Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Had one of the best views of the gulf. Just need a bigger sign with the address was a little hard to find, but overall highly recommend!

We loved our stay! It was so nice being directly on the beach. We were constantly going back and forth from the beach to the house for meals, grabbing something we needed, etc. We were impressed with the sea shells we collected in this area of the beach. The house is away from crowds which was great with vacationing with my Autistic kiddo.

Our family just returned from an amazing time at the Cottage del Mar!!
It was our children's first ocean experience. We were so impressed by the family friendliness of the cottage and the beach was so close that the kids could just walk a few feet and play there all day.
The house - It was pleasantly and beautifully decorated, but there were no fragile knick-knacks for them to accidently break. There were some nice extra's on site as well (A pack n' play for our infant, a small high chair) that made our stay a little much more enjoyable. Also the master bedroom had 3 huge windows that faced the water, so you could go to sleep watching the waves and wake up doing the same.
The porch - We were not expecting this to be such a center point for the vacation, but it was amazing to sit on, eat meals and just plain relax here. We gathered as a family to watch the unbelievable sunrises and sunsets. Plenty of patio furniture for all members of our family to find a comfy spot and enjoy.
Location - The house is located on a section of the beach where you are not bothered by anyone. So peaceful it felt like we had rented out a private beach to ourselves. We went over to Galveston on the ferry for a day and were reminded of how busy that area can be. We were happy to take the ferry back to Port Bolivar and return to a slower pace of life!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to relax and get away from their busy day-to-day life.

This property was very clean, well-equipped and exactly as advertised. The outdoor porch and seats were perfect and the beach access was great. Since there is a large overgrown and uncut area on the road side of the property, we did have some trouble with mosquitoes. Be sure to bring spray.

I really don't want to give the glowing review this property deserves because I really don't want to share!! LOL of course, too good not to share. The home is just nearly perfect for my taste...well laid out, well stocked, very clean and near perfect location to suit my taste. I love that it feels really "beachy" but still has a very homey feel to it. We were just two "besties" carrying out a long time threat to "run away alone to the beach!", but this could be shared with two small families, a large family...just very comfortable. The ONE smallish complaint I have is not from this property at all but the neighboring house to the east. Though it was not occupied there were several very bright patio lights shinning all the time. Ruined being able to look toward the sunrise from that very comfortable deck this house has. Otherwise, wonderful, all the way around! Thanks so much for sharing :) We've planning to run away again, soon!

We enjoyed our stay at this property so much! Everything was perfect, from the location right on the beach, to the perfectly stocked and cleaned house, to the comfortable bed, to the excellent air conditioning. We loved the clean beautiful beach and we found lots of shells and sea glass, and we saw an amazing assortment of birds. You will not be sorry you rented this property.

We have visited Bolivar Peninsula many times and this is by far the best place for our particular needs.
Check in and check out was a breeze. House is well appointed with furniture and kitchen supplies. Even has some board games to play. Quiet location. Great views. Just a few steps to the beach.
Unless I am just technically challenged, one of my warnings would be to come prepared to log on to streaming services since the home provides Roku tv. We were hoping to see some events on cable tv but were unable to.
We hope to return.

Absolutely fantastic! Perfect location for myself, spouse, m-i-l. and our 15 lb Malshi. Great location without the hustle/bustle of Galveston island. Casa Del Mar comes fully equiped. We greatly enjoyed the local atmosphere of the Big Store, Nauti Pig, and adult beverage locations.....

A perfect getaway in the perfect spot for bolivar peninsula just a few feet away from the beach

Cottage Del Mar is nicely appointed, it's clear the owners have put a lot of work into it. The access to the beach is such a big deal for our family. You can walk outside, down the steps, through a small yard, onto a pathway and 20 yards from the slab you're on the beach. Very few properties on Bolivar have a pathway directly from yard to beach.

Great property. Beach is just beyond the yard. House is open floor plan, plenty of space for big families to enjoy time together inside or out. Loved the captain chairs on the deck to enjoy the elevated views and breeze.

We booked this house because it was 4 doors down from my best friends beach wedding. The house was perfect. It was clean, kitchen fully stocked and little things you never knew you would need ( like little flashlights for when a storm blew through and knocked out electricity in the town). It was very tastefully decorated. The patio was the highlight. Great place to relax with coffee or a drink.
The beach culture was interesting and not what I expected. The beach was very fishing friendly. We had professional shark fishermen set up next to the house. They were very friendly and allowed the kids to all look at their 6 foot shark catch. However, all the chumming of the water deterred us from adventuring too far out in the water. On the beach, there were several interesting trump parades and cars waving confederate flags out the window- something a bit uncomfortable for our diverse crew. Also, some men riding dirt bikes decided to drive right through the wedding ceremony and attempt to splash water and sand on the bride and groom, rather than going around on the open sand road behind the ceremony. And they made sure to yell “public beach” during their ride. Despite the interesting beach culture, we did enjoy our stay. Just thought it would be fair to know what your getting into when you stay in this area.

The house was beautiful and the views were absolutely immaculate! My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything about the house was perfect except for the sliding glass door being hard to open and the mosquitoes were bad first thing in the morning and late at night. But even with those two little issues, it was well worth the stay. We will definitely be booking again!

We enjoyed our trip. We didn't have any problems with the property. The home is beautifully decorated, well stocked. The only issue we had was the mosquitoes were horrible and were swarming us the day we left. We literally were covered with bites while loading the car then fought them off most of the way home. It would be nice to have some lounging chairs for the deck area below by the picnic table; but other than that no suggestions or issues. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We loved the beach house! It had everything you needed and more! Couldn’t get any closer than this home. You can sit on the deck and feel like you are right at the beach. Close for kids to play in the sand and a short walk back for lunch. Great yard area for our little dog. Absolutely loved the separate entrance to the master suite. Will definitely need the screen placed underneath when the weather gets warmer. We hope to return and stay again soon.

Fantastic service. We loved the location - it’s like having your own private beach. We had a couple maintenance concerns and they were addressed immediately. Wonderful service. Also appreciate the very reasonable pet fee & the fact that we didn’t have to do 80% of the cleaning. Most houses make you do the bulk of the cleaning work at move out, while still charging $300 for a cleaning fee. We very much appreciated that all we had to do was take the trash out. Will stay again.

We had a great time relaxing and playing at the beach. Having the beach house so close made it so convenient for bathroom breaks and to get a quick snack. The deck is great for watching sunrises and sunsets. Lots of space for us and the kitchen was perfect for making family meals.

October on Bolivar never disappoints with the calm surf and annual Redfish run. The surf fishing is never slow with everything from Whiting, Black drum, Red drum, and of course Gaftop always hungry! The house was more than equipped with everything needed and had most of the comforts of home. Our group ranged from 2 months to 70 years old so with the beach just feet away and Galveston a short ferry rides distance there was plenty of activities to keep everyone satisfied. We love our annual trip to Bolivar and this year was no exception!

Family Vacay
This was our first experience renting a house, and it was amazing! They thought of everything- even little things like books to read, crossword puzzles to work, and family games to play. They provided all the staples (towels, soap, laundry detergent, cooking supples like foil and plastic cutlery, and much more). It was a very family friendly place to stay- the kids loved the bunk beds. It was so easy to be right on the beach. We would swim and play all morning, come in for lunch and naps, and then go back for more beach fun. So easy with little ones. The house was beautiful and extremely clean. I would recommend for sure, and we will definitely be back at that same house next year!

More than we expected!
This house was beautiful and had every detailed covered. We loved how family friendly it was for baby, toddler, parents and grands. Great set up and personal beach. Beach was so close and we could let napping babies rest while we kept playing! Beach traffic was low and kids could run freely. The house was so clean and excellent upgrades. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The perfect beach house!
This beachfront house was perfect for our family trip. You can’t beat being able to walk from a house straight onto the beach. And it wasn’t crowded at all, what a bonus. The house had everything our family needed and was clean and cute! I have no complaints at all. We loved everything about the house inside and out! We will definitely come again!

Just Lovely
We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the wonderful views from the balcony and beach. The shore is filled with seashells so it’s a wonderful opportunity to collect. Not much to do in town besides rent golf carts, bird watch and fish. Nearby Galveston and Houston have all the attractions and activities. It’s a nice quiet beach town where the locals were all very friendly. I only wished that the top deck was screened in to keep out the bugs that swarm at night. Will definitely be back for another visit!

Relaxing weekend with family
So happy we rented this house. Check in was easy and the house was clean and well stocked with supplies. Love that you could walk right to the beach! We all had a great extended weekend!

It was a great location for our families and we enjoyed our stay. However, the property could use some improvements. 1) the water heater was insufficient. 2) the a/c was insufficient 3) the beds were very uncomfortable.
