The house is well placed to access all amenities. It was warm and tidy with plenty of space. We used the upstairs double bedroom as it was at the back of the house so quieter than the downstairs one which is at front of property and on the main road. Bed was comfier than it looked and we slept well enough. The garden is lovely and if the weather had been better we probably would have enjoyed a few drinks outside. Good free parking just down from property.

Dining chairs needed a scrub as not as clean as they should be, dirty dinner plates, side plate and cups in the cupboard which was very disappointing. I put all crockery in the dishwasher just to feel confident enough to use them. The shower head in the upstairs bathroom needs to be cleaned as it's very heavily limescaled, might just be easier to replace it. When you turn on the water in the shower it comes on ok but then trickles away to nothing and you need to wait for a bit before it comes back on, this happened whether or not anyone else was running water elsewhere. Living room sofas look like they're going comfy but they are too firm and slidy for proper relaxing. It would also be helpful if there was an external light at the outside door as you need to use your phone torch to see what you're doing. While cooking bacon we set off the smoke detectors, we were only able to open one widow in the kitchen, another was painted shut or jammed and the big one at the back of the sink was very hard to access so couldn't be opened. Curtains in upstairs double bedroom are tatty and frayed , need replaced and the wallpaper behind the radiator in that room is peeling off, wouldn't take much to fix it. Overall the property could do with a bit of a refresh .

Amazing location, very comfortable and relaxing. Lovely traditional cottage, very well furnished and clean. Would highly recommend.

Kitchen could use a few more everyday essentials and cleaning supplies. A guestbook and local information pack would be a nice touch as well.

It was a lovely place to stay. Facilities and location were excellent. There was a great selection of DVD's and a nice garden.

After a long journey we could not get in the house as the door was bolted despite the pin no. clearly being correct. We called the tel number given and were told by the owner that it must be because we had tried to get in too many times and to wait for 15 mins and she would call us back. She didn't. Eventually a neighbour happened to show up and was able to let us in the side door. I imagine the owner forgot, or just assumed we got in. The neighbour told us that people had been having a problem getting in since the locks had been changed. I have no idea what would have happened if he hadn't arrived. It was a bit stressful, and if we had been elderly we probably wouldn't have been able to get in thereafter as the keys were stiff and I had to push the bottom of the door with my foot. Tbh, we were very relieved to get in and it is a lovely cottage. I would recommend it to someone, except for the fact they might have a hard time getting in in the first place.

-the property managers were very difficult to deal with - I could not get a straight answer from them about whether I could check in a few hours early and I gave up to even ask if I could have a later checkout very impersonal - it’s like dealing with a call centre - different people each time - and conflicting advice / requests etc from what I was getting from Booking.com emails saying how happy they were to help me - but then not actually helping me -there were 100’s of tea bags (which is lovely) but not even 1 pod for the coffee machine - and it was a brand I didn’t know - so wasn’t very sure what to buy - I had to Google -the main bed upstairs is a bit short and has a footboard so couldn’t fit my feet in - I’m not even very tall

Very clean, excellent location, pretty well facilitated. Excellent DVD selection. Beers and chocolate bars were a nice touch. Overall a lovely place.

Beds were very hard, there was a pod coffee machine, but no instructions on use and no pods, a plunger would be good. Some written information in the property would be useful- about local facilities and points of interest, also check out requirements and instructions.

this was self catering therefore not applicable. We had all we required in the kitchen
