This VRBO quickly became our favorite short term rental of all time! My husband and I had the privilege of staying for a week. We arrived at Kathy's place very late on a Friday night after a long day of travel. My immediate thought upon arrival was to get into bed ASAP and rest. However, once we turned on all the lights and toured the home we couldn't stop checking all the fun rooms out! We love games and there was an entire room! As everyone else mentioned, this home is equipped better than most people's homes! Not only does it have everything you could need or want to cook...Kathy has provided the quality of items (knives, cookware, utensils) most regular chefs only dream of using! If you are a coffee drinker, you will LOVE the brewing options and all the restful areas to enjoy your java while reading! The beds were comfortable, the entire home was pristine, the decor was delightful! Most of all the host is extremely accessible and thoughtful. Everything is labeled and organized and Kathy even put together an invaluable binder of local restaurant, shopping, and suggestions of things to do! We took day trips to Savannah, Tybee Island, Charleston, Hunting Island (Kathy even provides a park pass!), tours of Penn Center on St. Helena Island and much more creating incredibly memories!! ENJOY!

The owners have done an amazing job of creating a comfortable environment for guests. The kitchen had everything one could possibly need for meal prep and dining. Bed and bathrooms were comfortable and well appointed. Outside seating areas were perfect for having a glass of wine with friends. We had a five star experience thanks to Kathy's thoughtful attention to every detail!

Kathy is the most attentive host we’ve ever had. She was quick to respond and provided us with so many tips that we felt like locals. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!!

Best VRBO I’ve ever stayed in!!! So many small, thoughtful touches made our stay amazing. We loved the fresh herbs for cooking, and the porch swings on the patio. Kitchen is very well equipped!!!

My family and I stayed for a week. The house was very clean when we arrived. Little details were added that made our stay more comfortable. The backyard was cozy and so convenient as we traveled with our two dogs. The owners were very responsive and interactive. Would definitely stay again!

This Beaufort home was the best we've ever stayed in during our many visits to the historic town. The owners have really thought of everything to make the home both beautiful and comfortable for the whole family including our canine companion. The kitchen is well stocked with gourmet cookware and though it is a cottage, it felt plenty large for the 4 of us. The yard is lovely and peaceful. And we love that there are so many personal touches from the local area throughout the house. Our hostess, Kathy was so helpful with recommendations on restaurants and things to see and do that we found some new gems on this trip. This is true southern hospitality at its finest. We will definitley be back for another stay!

We had a great time

My wife and I have been using vacation rentals for years. Hands down, Kathy's little slice of heaven is #1. Well equipped, clean, and the owner's hospitality were top shelf. If you are planning to be in the area, Pruitt's is where you want to be!

It was a perfect storm. We had planned on a special weekend for our 15th and Mothers Day. The house exceeded all of our expectation and more. Great location, weather, great property and just what the doctor ordered. Kathy was great in making sure we were comfortable and up-to-date on the latest goings on. An absolutely fantastic host. Great place to unwind and visit but still have access to scenic walks and good food. Bravo!

This property is one of the best we have stayed in over the years. Would absolutely book again should we return to the area.

Gorgeous historic home rehabilitated to perfection. Home had everything you could ask for. Fenced in yard was great for pups. Outdoor area was beautiful with fire pit, cornhole and porch swing, including outdoor dining. House is better than the pictures if you can believe that! Definitely would return!

No detail is left unturned in this quaint and comfortable home! Our stay in charming Beaufort was certainly enhanced by our accommodations. Highly recommend. The host was very responsive to all inquiries and supplied us with terrific recommendations to local restaurants and activities.

This property is fantastic, not only is the home beautiful and well appointed but it has a lovely backyard with porch swings, a dining table and great lighting. This home is literally 5 blocks from downtown - an easy walk to great restaurants and shopping. As nice as the property is - the owner is even better, Kathy is the most responsive and helpful owner - ever. We loved our stay at Pruitt's Grocery.

Kathy, our property manager, was fantastic. She was proactive before we arrived and she was also very reactive to answer questions once we got to the house. We had some personal issues occur while we were there and Kathy was so understanding and considerate. Hope we get the chance to work with her again.

We were lucky enough to spend a week at this extraordinary property, which was a perfect perch for our first trip Beaufort. The house was gorgeous, stylish and comfy at the same time (not an easy feat to pull off), restored with deep respect for the building's fascinating history while being loaded with every modern comfort and convenience. The love and care shown and the attention to detail is extraordinary, and we have NEVER EVER had a more well equipped kitchen at a home rental! Or teenage son the chef (who can be a bit of a food snob) was over the moon with the vast array of cool touches, like multiple fancy coffee machines, an old school pop corn maker, egg cooker, m&m dispenser, beautiful serving dishes, and every sort of pot, pan, utensil one could ever imagine wanting. We loved being within walking distance to everything and appreciated living in a real local neighborhood rather than staying in a more touristy area. Kathy is a wonderful, warm, and attentive hostess, responding to every question and request for help immediately and with grace and good humor. And she had the best insider recommendation for everything from restaurants to seafood stores to cafes to golf cart rentals, you name it! On a dog-related note - pet friendly rentals often can be kind of blah or run down - this one was the exact opposite and we appreciated the welcoming touches like the cute elevated dog bed and food and water bowls! We truly did not want to leave after our week there, and would go back in a heartbeat as we feel like we only scratched the surface of Beaufort and this charming home! Big thumbs (and paws!) up to everything about Pruitt's Grocery!

We just spent 3 fantastic days in Beaufort and were so lucky to find this VRBO. It is simply beautiful and photos do not do it justice. Kathy and Melissa were wonderful and made sure every detail was taken care of. There is a great fenced in backyard that our 2 Westie dogs loved. This home was perfect for my family in every way. The booking process and working with the hosts was so easy. We loved every detail of the home and location. As a Beaufort native, I will definitely return and will always look to book this home first. Highly recommend!

Kathy has gone above and beyond in her hospitality at this lovely home. From the amazing artwork, interior design, fully stocked and then some kitchen, luxury baths and bedding, gorgeous yard and cozy charming front porch. You really feel the care and warmth that was put into their home. We used the park pass to Hunting Island 4 times, read through the tour books and watched The Big Chill, all provided thoughtfully. If you are looking to stay in a home in Beaufort you will not find better than this!

The house was even more lovely in person. The yard was roomy and inviting - great bench swings on which to welcome the day. The dogs loved exploring every corner of the yard and taking advantage of the dog bed and raised water bowl provided. The kitchen had everything one could possibly need. Conveniently located near all the area has to offer. The hosts were friendly and took extra care to check on us as Hurricane Ian approached. We didn’t need the whole house generator but it was nice to know it was there. Highly recommend this lovely home for your next trip.

We are building a home in Port Royal so have stayed in many properties throughout the area over the past year. This by far is the most well appointed property. We cooked a couple of nights and had every utensil, pot and pan available to us. Our 14 month old granddaughter was with us part of the time and was enchanted with the kids tent, the high chair and toddler utensils were a nice touch too! Kathy has gone to extreme measures to be sure guests have info about the area, history, points of interest, access to Hunting Island and tips for shopping and restaurants. Visually pleasing. Neighbors were welcoming. Mornings on front porch felt like small town connectedness. Fantastic 7 days. Detailed area and historic information was provided. Rented a golf cart and found it very convenient.

Spacious, comfortable, clean, well-outfitted...the list goes on and on. Only wish we had planned more time to just sit and relax and enjoy all this home has to offer.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about staying at Pruitt House. Completely remodeled but some of the original pieces that were part of the General Store have been left intact . The home is decorated lovely with many unique touches such as local art. We appreciated every room and the history behind them. Our hosts could not have been anymore accommodating for our stay. We brought our infant granddaughter, Kathy went above and beyond to make sure Olivia had everything she could possibly need (port-a-crib, high chair……..). We loved the privacy of the back yard, the hanging swings, outdoor dining area & seating area. The parking pass for Hunting Island was also appreciated, we put that to good use! We highly recommend staying at the Pruitt House, it’s so close to downtown with many wonderful restaurants & shops. We can’t wait for our next trip to Beaufort! Thank you Kathy for making our family vacation perfect!

Kathy's property was the perfect place for a weekend girls getaway. It was clean, exactly as listed, and beautifully decorated! We were able to use the Hunting Island pass to visit the beach with no problem. Kathy was also so helpful in giving us recommendations for local restaurants and bars all weekend. Could not recommend this place enough!

Sometimes we must pat our own backs for making good choices. This property was the best accommodation I’ve ever chosen or stayed in. So thoughtfully appointed with every modern convenience considered for the traveler. The host was an excellent communicator who made great recommendations for us visiting a new city. Centrally located close to town - everything was within walking distance if you did not want to use your car. I can’t say enough great things about Pruitt Grocery House but I’ll say the most important thing - thank you for peaceful, relaxing and worry free week!
